Rocky Plains Battlegrounds III

After a bit of replenishment, he sprinted back to his teammates, staring at the near exhausted Arnold, and the injured vice captain.

Several Bronze Skinned Golems had assaulted the rest of the team, denying Arnold and the vice captain relief from the relentless attacks of the Iron Clad Golem.

It's arms were stuck into the ground, and several iron spikes shot out at the flying Arnold, it's speed instantly reaching Mach 2.

"Neigh!" Barely evading, the vice captain grabbed Arnold and galloped away. However, the spike continued to assault them. If that wasn't bad enough, every minute, more spikes would shoot out and entrap them. Every where they moved, the spike could impale them.

Ga! Ga! Ga!

The golem laughed strangely. It surveyed it two prey, eyeing them extremely greedily.

"Water Wave!" Sensing danger, the golem turned around and punched instinctively, clashing with a sharp Water Wave.

The attack was dispersed, but it's hand was slightly cut. It stared with amazement, looking for the human.

"It's distracted! Dragon's Breath!" Arnold, who had been casting for a while immediately released the Advanced Fire Spell, Dragon's Breath.

"Wind Chop!" Instantly breaking the heated metal, two beams, red and white, struck out, heading for the golem.

"Phoenix Wing Slash!"

"Wind Chop!"

Two attacks instantly struck it's back. A scraping sound ensued as the two poured in as much Mana as they had.

"Water Wave!" Another sharp wave joined in, tilting the balance.

The golem split in half from it's waist, exploding vigorously.

"Damn it! It exploded its own core!" The vice captain cursed angrily as his horse easily escaped the explosion.

Beside him was the flying Arnold, who felt his organs churning.

_________

Despite being weakened by the Iron Clad Golem, the remaining firepower was still more than enough to deal with the remaining, especially with Tanner's help.

"Thank you very much. Who would have expected that we would meet an Iron Clad Golem at the periphery?" one of his teammates thanked him sincerely.

"No problem. The real stars are the captain and the vice captain." Tanner modestly said.

"Arnold is naturally amazing. Allen is good, but his attitude leaves much to be desired." the girl named Luna said.

"Hm." Tanner nodded without saying anything.

After an hour, they secretly monitored another group of golems. This time, they took a thorough analysis and after finding out their leader, waited for the golems to get in a disadvantageous position for battle.

After twenty minutes, the battle ended in a victory and they set up a small camp, as it was getting dark and they were still a bit away from the exchange center.

"Tanner's utility is amazing. He's always able to provide help at the right time!" They all sat around a small fire and chatted.

"His Basic Spell, Water Wave is extremely weird. Instead of the normal application of pressure, his applies sharpness. He must have an extremely high comprehension, or an innate talent."

"I'm in favor of the innate talent. There isn't a Basic mage that amazing."

"Do you know how rare it is to awaken with an innate talent. Don't speak nonsense..."

"Can you explain it then?" Luna, who Tanner had helped out, retorted at the person.

"I....."

"Ah....." Tanner sighed tiredly.

"I'm heading inside." Allen said, ignoring everyone.

"Have a good night!" Arnold barely finished, as Allen had closed his tent forcefully, a gust of air assaulting their faces.

Tanner looked at the starry sky.

___________

After everyone had slept, Tanner snuck out, heading in a northwest direction.

"Hm....Allen had headed south, and he's heading northwest. Where do I go?" Smiling wryly, Arnold sprinted towards the east.

The path of cultivation was never about resting. If one rested too much, they might become complacent, and stop advancing. The three understood this, so at night they snuck out, carrying out their own solo training.

__________

Tanner sat down in a cross-legged position, analyzing the contents of their battle. His mind constantly replayed it, like a video.

Two hours later, he stood up with resolute eyes. He swung his hand, releasing an extremely sharp Water Wave.

"My sharpness has improved. However, I need to advance in my cultivation." He took out a book.

'Basic Mana Cultivation' it read. Carefully examining it's contents, Tanner began to control his mana as depicted in the book.

Mana flowed around his body once, which was called a cycle. After thirty cycles, he opened his shut eyes and smiled faintly.

"I am now in the Mid-Tier realm, of the middle stage. Impressive, but not enough. I will build up a sturdy foundation like the Basic realm, then advance." A resolute light appeared in his eyes.

His bones cracked as he stood, indicating he had been there for a long time.

"This armor is really useful. Without it, I might have been interrupted a few times." Tanner gazed at his armor, staring at it's details.
