The Wolf Ball 1.2

When dad and I arrived at the clearing where the Wolf Ball was being hosted at, my eyes widened when I saw wolves upon wolves everywhere that I had never met before. With a pack of about ten thousand, there had to be a couple thousand people here right now. Not everybody shows up for the Wolf Ball if they are already mated or if their mate is pregnant, or if they need to take care of their pups. But a lot of the times also, many wolves are left behind to guard the territories against enemy packs or rogues. I shivered at the idea of having to deal with those kinds of wolves, especially rogues. Rogues are lone wolves and most of the time, they go insane and are very dangerous.

Dad ~ ~ ~ Kai, pay attention to what you're doing and don't make a scene or bring a lot of attention to yourself. I guess all the royals are going to be here as well and we both know how you can get. So, not drinking alcohol or anything. Am I clear?

I rolled my eyes, but I knew he was right.

Kai ~ ~ ~ Yes, dad.

Dad ~ ~ ~ Good.

As we walked deeper into the crowds, I noticed on the stage were a bunch of people sitting in comfy looking chairs. I couldn't help but look over them, wondering curiously who they were. I've never seen them before, but they looked like they were pretty important because as everyone walked past those wolves, they bowed their heads in submission. Are these the royals?

Dad seemed to follow the direction I was looking in, and he frowned.

Dad ~ ~ ~ Those are the royals, Kai. Quit staring at them before they notice.

Kai ~ ~ ~ Fine but tell me who they are.

Dad sighed, looking like he was about done with me today.

Dad ~ ~ ~ To the left, you have Axel Richardson, and he is the former Beta. Beside him is his wife, Caroline. The younger boy is their son, Parker, who is now the current Beta and next to him is his mate, Claire.

Axel is handsome for being older, kind of like how my dad is. From what I could tell, he is about 6'3", with tan skin and muscles. He has short brown hair and brown eyes, but from this distance, they almost look black. Caroline is beautiful, there is no doubt about that. She looks to be around 5'3", which is pretty short, with fair skin and a curvy body. She has long, wavy blonde hair and pretty grey eyes. They were holding hands up there and giggling to each other like mom and dad do.

Parker, well, he was handsome as well. He looked to be about 6'3", with tan skin and muscles. He has short brown hair and grey eyes. He had a stern, but open look on his face. He looked like somebody you could approach but don't dare to ever cross. His mate, Claire, looked like a goddess. She was about 5'7", with fair skin and a thin body. She has long, curly red hair and bright blue eyes. Her lips that were painted a bloody red were curved up into a smile. I wasn't sure how to judge her yet, so I moved on from there.

Dad ~ ~ ~ In the middle is Easton Cox, and he is the former Delta. His mate beside him is Ivy. And next to her is their son, Mateo, and his mate, Nova.

Easton, well, he didn't look very approachable at all. He was around 6'2", with tan skin and a lean body. He has short blonde hair and hazel eyes. His expression though, it was cold, and he looked like he was about ready to murder somebody. His mate, Ivy, well, she looked to be no better. She looks to be about 5'6", with fair skin, and a lean body. She has long, wavy brown hair and blue eyes. I don't know what it is about her, but something told me that she wasn't someone to be trusted.

Their son, Mateo, seemed like he would be a lot nicer than his parents. He was around 6'4", with tan skin, and muscles. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. I tilted my head to the side, wondering why his parents were so cold and he wasn't. Mateo's mate, Nova, seemed like she was really nice. She was about 5'7", with fair skin, and a curvy body. She has long, wavy blonde hair and green eyes. She has a sweet, kind expression on her face and she held her mate's hand softly. The look Mateo gave her, you could tell it was love.

Dad ~ ~ ~ And to the right is Lincoln Bennett, who is the former Gamma. Beside him is his mate, Hailey; their son, Cooper; and Cooper's mate, Sarah.

Lincoln was smiling and greeting wolves as they went by and I have to say, he seems like he is the most laid back. He is about 6'3", with fair skin, and muscles. He has short blonde hair and pretty green eyes that practically glowed. His mate, Hailey, was also greeting the wolves. She was about 5'4", with fair skin, and a curvy body. She has long, curly brown hair and brown eyes. She looked like she was someone you could trust immediately.

Their son, Cooper, was chatting excitedly with his mate. He was around 6'3", with tan skin and muscles. He has short brown hair and green eyes. He seems like he would be really nice. His mate, Sarah, was smiling at him, replying to whatever he was talking about. She was about 5'7", with fair skin, and a curvy body. She has long, curly red hair and blue eyes. They looked like they were the perfect kind of couple.

Dad ~ ~ ~ And off in the corner is our head doctor, Madelyn Fisher along with her mate, Ivan.

Madelyn and Ivan were obviously older, and they were sitting there quietly, just walking the wolves roaming around. Madelyn was gorgeous, there's no doubt about it. She is 5'4", with fair skin and a thin body. She has long, wavy blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her mate, Ivan, was handsome, too. He was 6'4", with tan skin and muscles. He has short, reddish-blonde hair and grey eyes. They would occasionally say something to each other but that was pretty much it. I wonder what their problem is.

I was too distracted by the royals to realize other pack members were walking onto the stage that the royals were sitting at. And I didn't realize others around me were bowing. Dad cursed under his breath and grabbed me by the back of my neck, forcing me down to bow which broke me out of my train of thoughts.

Dad ~ ~ ~ Idiot! You're lucky I saw you didn't bow before they did. The Alphas have arrived.

My heart sunk in my chest because I could feel eyes on me...
