Surprise 1.1

Giovanni Walker

As we were detaining the feral rogue and chaining him up with silver chains so he wouldn't be able to break free, I couldn't help but freeze, an unsettling feeling washing over me as I stood there, staring off in the direction of Kai's home where we had left him. My wolf growled inside of me, telling me that I needed to go home and to Kai because something had happened, or was about to happen. Kai was in danger, I know it.

Christian --- Gio, what's the matter?

I frowned, wondering if Kit wasn't experiencing this unsettling feeling.

Giovanni --- don't you feel it? Something is wrong.

Kit frowned, staring off in the direction of the house as well but he kept a firm hold on the rogue who was trying to struggle free.

Christian --- yeah, I feel it but it's possible we just want to get home because since he is still fairly newly marked and recently out of the hospital, we want to be around him as much as possible. We can't just leave this rogue here as we are the Alphas, Gio, I'm sure Kai is fine. If he wasn't, he would mindlink us right?

Even though his words made sense, I still didn't feel comfortable, and by the look on his face, I knew that he was feeling it too but as the Alphas, it was our job to oversee this and to make sure the rogue was taken away properly. I just hope it hurries up. Maybe I should just mindlink Kai myself just to make sure he is okay.

Giovanni --- Kai, are you alright? I just really wanted to check up on you?

Silence.

My nerves were shot, as I really wasn't liking where this was going. It's possible Kai had just fallen asleep and obviously wouldn't be able to mindlink me back. My nerves were running haywire as the pack warriors arrived in a heavily armored vehicle that is used to transport feral rogues to the different containment areas where the rogues were held, depending on if they were feral or not would depend on where they could live. This guy though, he was definitely going to the red zone. The look in his eyes, he really wanted to kill us.

Once the man was loaded up into the vehicle and taken away, I immediately shifted into my wolf form and ignored the confused looks as I started running towards Kai's house, feeling Kit in pursuit behind me. I could tell from our connected mindlink that Kit also knew that something was seriously wrong as well, and that he was panicking. What could be causing this, I'm not sure, nor why do I feel so uneasy? I just hope when we arrive at the house, we stop and find Kai asleep in bed, and we were just worried over nothing.

Christian --- Something is very wrong. I smell blood.

I could smell it too as we got closer to the house and as we did so, I morphed back into my human form and raced through the front door, sniffing the air as I searched for Kai. His scent and blood mixed throughout the house, and as I headed up the stairs towards his room, I froze as I saw a crack in the wall, and what looked to be blood splatter on the wall and the carpet. Kit reached out and turned on the light and my worst fears were coming true...

Kai was hurt.

Someone has taken him.

And whoever did it masked their scent so I wouldn't be able to track them...

All I saw after that was red.
