[Nayla's POV]

My phone rang before my ex husband could react. I took the call and heard Violet on the other line. I let out a small sigh of relief. My best friend's voice was a refreshing break from the tense atmosphere. I turned my back from Gareth and started talking on the phone as if he isn't there. I could hear footsteps of him echo through the empty hall as he storm his way out. I ignored him.

I told Violet about his attitude. "That man is ridiculous. He probably thought I am still into him. Does he still think I divorced him to get his attention? He talks as if I was the one who wronged him, when from the start he is the cold blooded one."

I could imagine Violet shaking her head. "Well, that certainly sounds like something a member of Colopus would do," Violet said. "What's he doing there anyway?"

I told her I'll be working alongside my ex.
