"Kenzie, was it?" He smirked then cut the ropes on my wrists and ankles. I rubbed my sore wrists, bringing back circulation. I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he circled me.
"What could I have done, to gain attention from you?" I asked sarcastically, I noticed that each man had three guns, most likely loaded, then a couple of knives. Charlie was the only that lacked a couple, however I'm pretty sure he would just throw his thugs into the fight.
"Actually, I'm holding you for someone. That pesky Mafia King hadn't left you side all night, however you fell into the trap when you came into the circle." I let this sink in, then thought back to the fight.
"Actually I knew that it was a trap, but I was trying to figure out something else. Who are you holding me for?" I asked aloud. I stayed seated, because I was still slightly drugged somehow.
The fight, was overseen by someone, these men wouldn't have went after the two strongest mafia leaders, unless that had someone protecting them. The whole time I felt watched, but it was an even stronger gaze, a cold dark gaze.
I looked up at the roof a couple of times, yet I couldn't see anybody except the other snipers, although I knew it wasn't a sniper. The whole time I fought the gaze became stronger, and I grew angry with the snooper.
With my blood sugar going up, the drug took affect quicker, causing my vision to blur and hear Jacob's agonizing screams. I knew something was off when they could see me in my other form, 'who were these people?' I glared at Charlie.
"You knew that you were in a trap? But you looked so clueless." Charlie was appalled, as he bent down to my height staring into my eyes. The man's hazel to my bluish-green.
"I'm not stupid, I was only testing a couple of things. Acting is a great factor in the mafia. So who are you holding me for?" I asked the question again, slightly agitated.
"It's a secret, darling." The glint was noticeable in the young girl's eyes, however she just turned her head. "Now, we should feed you." a tray of food was brought by the young man, he lowered his head while handing off the tray.
The tray consisted a water bottle, and a plate of questionable items, nothing looked edible. I looked at Charlie who had a glint in his eyes, with giddiness, I placed the tray down by my feet and kicked it back to the men.
"I'm not eating that, unless one of you do." The smirk on Charlie's and two other men, dropped instantly, none of them daring to walk up to the plate.
"Then you can starve." Charlie deadpanned as he turned around and left, leaving two men in the room.
"It wasn't like I was starving in the first place." I mumbled under my breath, standing up and walking to a corner, sitting there.
The two men watched me, then grew slack, seeing that I wasn't going to fight, instead I took a little nap. If anyone moved and inch, or took a breath I would be instantly awake, I was just wanting to rest my eyes.
"Charlie, where is she?" Julian walked into the well protected area with ease, go figure. Hearing a new set of steps I rose and went to the door that has a glass pane. I knitted my brows together with confusion, 'why was he here?'
"You shouldn't--" A soldier was reaching for my wrist, when I turned around, my hair rose and twirled as I slapped the man, reaching for a knife and gun, both in my hands with in minutes.
"Don't touch me. Ever." I pointed the gun a the window pane and shot the gun reaching through and opened the door from the other side. Turning around I shot both vampires in the legs, and rushed out.
Taking the back passageways to upstairs, I immediately felt the pressure lift up, with every step. "She has escaped!" A man yelled and, three men came in the direction of the stairs, it was then when they saw me.
"She has a gun, watch out for her teeth as well." I narrowed my eyes, listening to each of them mutter to themselves, I eventually found a way off the stairs without killing myself.
Turning around looking like I was going to run down, I caught them in my bait. Jumping over them, landing smoothly on the upper steps. Glancing back at the shocked men, I continued my way, setting off the traps that were placed. Leaving plenty behind.
A door with a large exit sign, caught my attention, when a hand grabbed my wrist and another one my mouth, preventing my voice out. In a corner, with no light, Julian watched three men pass by.
"That's a fake exit, the real one is down this hallway, on the right. I'll cover for you." He spoke, while he cold hand lingered on my wrist and face. Moving his hand off my mouth, I glared at this two-faced vampire.
"Don't bother, I don't like to leave like a coward. Instead I still have bullets, and a knife. Find someone else to save, maybe you for example." I hissed while taking a stepped opposite the exit and listened for the screams. 'who else is here?' I let my feet wander to the scene.
"Young! What do you think you're doing?" Julian hissed as he grabbed the young lady's wrist pulling her from the sight. His Majesty has made his presence, and so soon. Looking down at the lady's face, there wasn't a slightest hint of fear instead, she turned her heel, and walked away.
"Hey Julian!" She called, pointing the gun toward his foot, and her aim true, which caused the vampire to realize a little too late. "Don't come back, and take that retched monster with you." She spoke with ease as she described His Majesty.
'That man feels so familiar, where have I seen him before?' Walking to the exit, I saw a nice truck waiting to be driven, hopping in the drivers seat, I turned it on, and reversed it.
"London here I come." I muttered to myself as I followed the highway signs, however the truck decided to run out of gas an hour away from Jacob's.
Parked off on the side, I turned off the lights and took the key out, leaving it on the drivers seat, for whoever picks it up.
Shifting to my other form making the rest of the trip by foot, taking shortcuts through forests and was stopped by a strange smell.
Following it slightly, I walked upon a street, and there a man stood there, giving me a smile. He was bright and sparkly, a different aura surrounded him. His features were light, but also heavy. Watching from a distance, we locked eyes.
