Twenty One

"I almost forgot," Kaylee said, turning to Grace who was sitting next to her. "How was your weekend?" she asked raising an eyebrow.

The weekend is over and today is Monday where everyone returns to their activities including Grace and Kaylee.

"Pretty fun," Grace replied, nodding her head and looking straight ahead. Pay attention to the road that is passed.

"You said you had a pretty good weekend, but why do you look so unenthusiastic?" Kaylee frowned and glanced at her friend. "Aren't you enjoying your time with Theo?"

"No." Grace shook her head. "Because I enjoyed my time with him"

"Then?" Kaylee asked and looked curious.

Grace sighed. "I wasn't ready to meet Caitlin," she replied, lowering her head.

"You're not ready to meet Caitlin?" Kaylee frowned and Grace nodded. "Why? Did you two fight?"

"No. But she pisses me off," Grace said with her head down.

"Wait, can you tell me what happened? And what did she do to upset you?" Kaylee squinted and turned to Grace.

"Friday night she came to my house and asked me to go to the grill. At first, I refused but she begged until I finally had to do what she wanted. But after we were there suddenly Cam came and Caitlin said that she also invited Cam to come over to join us. After that, we played truth or dare and that was her idea. And for those who don't want to answer or take on the challenges given, they have to drink a glass of whiskey. But it turns out that she deliberately gave questions and challenges related to me and Cam. She even gave Cam a challenge to kiss me on the lips and he had to do it, because if he refused then he and I should be punished. Long story short, throughout the game, I often refused and had to drink whiskey until finally, I was drunk and unconscious when I wanted to go home. Lucky, Cam was there so he could help and take me home," Grace explained.

"What's on her mind?! Why did she even do that? Even though she knows your relationship with Cam is over" Kaylee scolded, looking straight ahead.

"I don't know." Grace shook her head. "That's why I'm annoyed with her. I originally planned not to go to school so I wouldn't meet her"

"By the way, you didn't tell me how your Saturday was with the new student," Kaylee said, looking at Grace sitting across from her.

Grace raised her head. "Didn't I tell you?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "While we were on our way to school"

"Yeah, you told me" Kaylee nodded, lowered her head, and looked at the drinks on the table. "But you didn't go into detail and that made me curious."

Grace chuckled, looked away, and looked around the crowded area.

"Hi, guys"

Grace and Kaylee turned, and saw Caitlin walking toward them. But their faces immediately changed when they saw the girl as if they didn't like it when she approached them.

"Why did you leave me?" Caitlin asked, stopping and sitting next to Grace. "I said that I wanted to go to the toilet first and you guys don't go to the cafeteria without me. But why are you—"

"Grace, we better get out of here" Kaylee interrupted and looked at Grace.

Grace nodded and rose from her position. As for Kaylee, she also did the same.

"Wait," Caitlin said and rose from her position. "What's wrong? Why are you guys leaving while I'm talking?" she asked, frowning and looking at her two friends in turn.

"I should be the one asking. What's wrong with you? Why did you frame Grace?!" Kaylee shouted.

"Trapping Grace?" Caitlin frowned. "What do you mean?"

Kaylee rolled her eyes. "You don't have to pretend, Cait. I know what you're thinking," she sneered, crossing her arms over her chest and looking away. Then she turned to Caitlin. "I know you brought Grace to the grill on purpose and you invited Cam too. Then you came up with the idea to play truth or dare and you purposely gave questions and challenges related to the two of them. Because you wanted Grace and Cam to be like they used to be. You even deliberately challenged Cam to kiss Grace on the lips," she explained. "That's what's in your head, right?"

"That's not true." Caitlin shook her head. "I take them to the grill just for fun so they don't get bored. And about that game why do you take it too seriously? It's just a game"

Kaylee snorted. "Come on, Cait, you don't have to defend yourself and act like you're innocent. Because this was all your idea" she said averting her eyes.

Caitlin just stayed silent and looked at Kaylee without saying anything. Then she turned to Grace who was standing to her right. "Why did you tell Kaylee that? Are you trying to get us into a fight?" she asked squinting.

"Don't blame her!" Kaylee said and turned to Caitlin. "Because the only person to blame is you! You know Grace can't drink much alcohol but you still play that stupid game. What's wrong with you, Cait? Why did you set up Grace? She's our best friend."

"Are you satisfied?" Caitlin asked without taking her eyes off Grace. "Now Kaylee and I are fighting and it's because of you!" she yelled.

"I said stop blaming her because it wasn't her fault!" Kaylee shouted and Caitlin turned to her. "Why are you so selfish? You don't want to blame yourself and you throw the blame on someone else"

"Because it wasn't my fault," Caitlin said and shook her head. "Like I said before it's just a game. So don't take it seriously"

"Guys, please stop," Grace said and looked at her two friends. "We can talk about it and you guys don't have to fight like this"

"You have to stop!" Caitlin yelled, turning to Grace. "Because it's your fault. If you hadn't told Kaylee then we wouldn't have fought."

"But it wasn't my fault, Cait." Grace shook her head. "Kaylee asked and I told her. Is that wrong?"

"Of course, it's wrong because it makes us fight!" Caitlin replied, staring at Grace with hatred.

"Caitlin, stop! It wasn't her fault!" Kaylee shouted.

"Why are you even defending her?" Caitlin asked and turned to Kaylee. "I'm your friend too, Kay. But why are you blaming me instead?"

"Because it's your fault," Kaylee replied, looking at Caitlin who was standing in front of her. "If you don't play that game, then she won't get drunk and fall unconscious like that. Lucky, Cam was there so he could help and take her home. Can you imagine, if Cam wasn't there, what would have happened to our friend?"
