Toronto, Canada.

A man walked in, stepping into his room with a towel over his shoulder. Then he stopped, sat on the edge of the bed, and rubbed his damp hair.

Bzzt! Bzzt!

He turned around and stopped what he was doing when he heard his phone vibrate. Immediately he took the object that was on the nightstand and stared at the screen.

"Brandon?" he said, frowning at the sight of a name popping up on his phone screen. "He doesn't usually call me"

Then he immediately answered the call and put the phone to his ear.

"Hallo, Brand, what's wrong?" he said, looking away.

"Theo, sorry if I disturbed your time. But I want to tell you something and it's very important"

"Something?" he frowned. "About what?"

"Logan. He's dead"

"WHAT?" he rounded his eyes. "He's dead? Wait, you're not kidding, are you?"

"No, Theo. I'm serious, Logan is dead"

"But how did that happen?" he asked, frowning and looking disbelieving.

"I don't know. But this morning Kylen found him in the woods and he was dead. Then he took him home and we found out that he was shot in the chest. And it hit his heart."

"It must have been a silver bullet and the person who shot him was no ordinary hunter," he said, looking straight ahead.

"We thought so too. But how did that person know that Logan was no ordinary wolf?"

"I don't know," he replied, shaking his head. "Please tell the others to be more careful. Don't be the next victim"

"Sure, I'll tell them.

"Good" he nodded. "And I'll be right there. See you later!" he said, pulling the phone away from his ear and staring at the screen. Then he ended the call, sighed, and looked away.

A few days later...

Swan Falls, West Virginia.

Two girls walked and stepped into the hallway of a school.

"So what do you want to tell me?" one of the girls asked, turning to her friend walking next to her. She is Gracelyn Lenderking.

"Last night Colton and I went on a date" replied the other girl. She is Kaylee Cooper, Grace's best friend. "But this time we're not going to the beach or having a romantic dinner at a restaurant like we often do," she said, making Grace raise an eyebrow. "But we cook together at his house. Then after eating dinner, we watch a movie while chatting. Yes, it does look simple, but to me, it is very memorable and romantic. Because we've never done it before" she explained, looking straight ahead and remembering that moment.

Grace chuckled. "I guess I was right," she said, averting her eyes and causing Kaylee to turn to her. "That you would tell me about it. But I'm glad that you and your boyfriend are no longer fighting" she continued, turning to her friend and smiling.

"I feel that way too," Kaylee replied, nodding and lowering her head. "Because we can finally spend time together again. And I admit that it was my fault. I was too jealous. Even though I knew that girl was his cousin."

"It's okay, jealousy is natural" Grace nodded, wrapped her arms around Kaylee's shoulders, and smiled. "Because that means you love him. Even though that girl is his cousin. It's weird if you don't feel jealous when you see your boyfriend with another girl"

"I know" Kaylee nodded. "But for me, it was too much, and I shouldn't be like that. So that made us have to fight. Luckily our relationship can still be repaired. If not, then I will never forgive myself" she said, looking guilty with her head down.

"It's okay, Kay. You don't have to keep blaming yourself" Grace said, turning to Kaylee. "Anyway, you and Colton are fine now, right? And you two aren't fighting anymore."

"Yes. But I still feel guilty" replied Kaylee nodding her head. Then she turned. "What about you? Have you found a replacement for Cam?"

"Not yet." Grace shook her head, averting her eyes with a change of expression on her face. "Looks like I'll be a single until graduation"

"Why?" Kaylee frowned. "Is there no one out of all the boys in this school that catches your eye other than your ex?"

"Maybe," Grace replied, nodding her head down. "Besides, as you know, I'm not the type of girl to fall in love easily. And–"

"If you're already in love with someone it's hard to forget" Kaylee interrupted, causing Grace to turn to face her. "Right?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, that's right." Grace chuckled and nodded her head. "And I didn't think that you–"

BRUK!

They immediately stopped when a man accidentally bumped into Grace. Luckily it wasn't hard so she didn't fall.

"Sorry I didn't mean it"

Grace was silent, staring at the man standing in front of her without saying anything.

"Grace, are you okay?" Kaylee asked, frowning and patting her friend on the shoulder. It jolted her awake from her daydream.

"Yes, what is up?" Grace asked, turning to her friend.

"Are you okay?" Kaylee repeated her question.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Grace replied, nodding her head.

"I'm sorry," the man said, making the two girls turn to look at him. "I accidentally bumped into you because I was looking around"

"It's okay" Grace nodded, looking at the man with a smile etched on her face. "It's also my fault, after all. Because I was too busy chatting with my friends, that I didn't look ahead and pay attention to the road"

"It's okay" the man smiled. "And again I'm sorry"

Grace just nodded, lowered her head, and smiled.

"Who is that man?" Kaylee said, looking back and watching the man's back. "Have you seen him before?" she asked, turning to look at Grace who was standing next to her.

"No." Grace shook her head. "It's the first time I've met him," she said, turning her head back and watching the man look further and further away.

"Maybe he's a new student," Kaylee said and Grace just nodded. Then she sighed. "We'd better continue walking and head to class. Because in a few minutes history class will start. If we are late then we will be scolded by Mr. Brooks. And of course, I don't want to, because when angry the teacher looks very scary. Even scarier than witches depicted in fairy tales"

Then they walked back and headed to a class for the first lesson.
