“Don’t say this, Sam. We love you.”
Mrs. Richard instantly interfered in father-son’s face off.
“I brought Alohi here so that she could see my family. But I forgot that I didn’t have one.”
Despair dripping from his miserable tone, Sam grabbed Alohi’s hand to leave.
“Sit down, Sam. I didn’t mean this.”
Mr. Richard’s heart shattered by Sam’s pitiful statement, the emptiness of being childless overwhelmed him.
“I just want you to be strong like me. Raising a child and giving him a good future is not an easy task.
Everything here is yours, my son. But you should set an example for the new addition in our family.”
Alohi was intrigued by the new twist in the family dynamics, she added another piece of apple pie to her plate to relish the moment.
“You are so thoughtful, dad. I have no idea how to do this? You are more experienced, please guide me.”
Satisfied by Mr. Richard’s emotional speech, Sam sat down and resumed the meal.
