Chapter Eight
Adonis' Pov
Trying to shake these thoughts and feelings aside I moved closer to the cell, I couldn't decipher how this rogue made me feel. On one hand, I was completely infatuated by the divine creature in front of me then there were the confusing thoughts it's as if I am sharing my thoughts with somebody. Upon taking a look at her appearance I couldn't stop the rage that consumed me, immediately mind linking my delta to come get her down. My only thought was on getting the red-headed girl to the infirmary. When I came back to reality after talking with Elijah, I heard the voice in my head again.
"MATE!" It chanted. It was as if it was me talking to myself but, it felt different this time. "That's because I'm your wolf, Adonis." The voice replied. I don't have a wolf, he never showed even as I aged. "That's because your father had a witch curse you, he wanted you to feel and grow knowing what pain was."... "And he wanted to make me feel the pain he felt losing his mate and bc he didn't have anything to do with James and didn't know who my mate was he took the next best thing from me" I finished the statement.
My father was a horrible man but I never expected him to take one of the two things an alpha needs most. So how are you able to contact me now?, Are you why I've suddenly gained twenty pounds in muscle alone?, Is this girl really my mate?, What's your name?, Who was the witch?. I thought back not sure how to contact my supposed wolf. "Woah, you gotta slow down," The wolf said back in what sounded like amusement. "Don't interrupt me and I'll tell you all I know" He said.
"To start off My name is Ares, we are stronger than you think. Especially when we start becoming one but due to the power of the witch's spell I can't quite reach you completely. When we become one our feelings, thoughts, goals, mindset completely will become one. If I lose control I can control you in human form if I force my presence forward. I don't know who the witch is but my guess is she's powerful, after all, she held an alpha's wolf back for 20 years." He paused to let it sink in "Yes, that red-headed beauty is our mate she doesn't quite know it yet because the silver and her weak state is blocking any connection with her wolf even helping her healing process. I'm guessing her presence has interfered with the witch's spell, after all her wolf would recognize me as her mate and your wolf had to be present for the bond to grow."
"Yes me being able to contact you now has something to do with your gain in muscle. As well as your gain in strength... my appearance is faint right now but soon my strength will be your strength and vice versa. You can contact me by just thinking and I'll respond.. of course, we can put up a wall as we do with pack members after all I'm sure a voice inside your head all the time isn't your type of thing." Ares finished with a chuckle
Elijah finally arrived, shocked by my gain of muscle he asked "Alpha is everything okay?". Angered at the state he put my mate in I growled a response "It will be when you unchain my mate from the wall and I can take her to get medical attention". Shocked at my response he dropped his head and grab his keys as he went to put the key in the lock he stopped, "Alpha I don't mean to question your judgment but are you sure this rogue is your mate?". It was as if he hit a trigger for the first time ever I felt my wolf push forward you could feel the alpha power leaking through every pore in my body. He immediately dropped to his knees, "Yes I'm sure she's my mate I told you to restrain her in any way you seemed fit I didn't think you would chain her with silver." I roared. "Also this 'rogue' is your luna now so show some respect, you're on border patrol for 3 months. Night shift so you can still teach your classes at the school." at this point I was beyond livid.
"Now I won't repeat myself, unchain your luna now" I spoke in a deathly tone. He scurried to get the key in and immediately unchained the petite girl. Rushing inside I scooped her up, ignoring the tingles that shot up my arm, although they were impossible to ignore. I took off towards the infirmary with the frail-looking girl in my arms. When I arrived I ordered doctors and nurses to tend to my mate. When they took her away they told me I couldn't follow. Angered I made my way towards my office nearby, when I got inside I started wrecking my office.
I saw red, I wasn't able to take control back until my wolf's anger subsided. When I was finally able to take control back I took in the state of my office, or what was left of my office. Defeated I walked back to the hospital and sat in the waiting room, waiting for them to call me about my mate.
