I couldn't hear what the person on the other end said, but whatever it was, it made Damon scowl more heavily, deepening the furrows between his eyes. Irritation welled within me.
"Oh don't give me that fucking bullshit!" Damon yelled into the phone, his voice echoing loudly on the deserted streets. If I lived here, I would have reported him for the noise. "Where the fuck are you? You can either tell me right now, or I'll knock on every single door in this damn town until I pull you out from whatever rock you're hiding under. I'm sure your neighbors will be very interested to know why someone like me is looking for you."
How ominous. But the threat worked, for Damon's face cleared.
"I'll look for you now. If you dare fall asleep, I'll kill you," Damon swore before hanging up.
"Guess we got the address," I said, rolling my shoulders. "Which way is it?"
