Thessalia POV
THREE WEEKS LATER
Was the soil just right?
Did it get enough water?
Was the arboretum even the right place for their tree cuttings? Wouldn’t the tree cuttings being planted outside work better?
Thessi squatted by the bed, watching Dirge fuss. HE was the one agonizing over the ideal spot. She’d even begun thinking of herself–at least in shifter lands–as Thessi. The people who loved her and knew her best called her that, even the pups. Except for little Lucina …
“Dirge?”
“I think we should plant them outside. I’m glad they survived the journey.”
She grinned, pressing her hand to her belly. “You insisted on taking the slow route. We could have gone back for more cuttings.”
