Chapter 174: Portal Back Home 2!
Bandel Blue rose to his feet, his imposing figure exuding a quiet authority as he strode toward Tessa. She floated serenely in the air, her unconscious form emanating an ethereal glow that contrasted sharply with the tension simmering in the room. In her stillness, she seemed almost otherworldly—a harbinger of both hope and doom.
Ecdy trailed behind Bandel Blue, his emerald eyes filled with cautious curiosity. Nyala followed, her sharp gaze scanning the room, while Nymff kept a stoic expression. Abdel, ever the skeptic, adjusted his stance, and the twins, Lhize and Lhaze, moved as one, their identical features betraying a mix of awe and apprehension.
"The key to the survival of this planet—Earth—is Tessa," Bandel Blue declared, his deep voice resonating through the chamber. He knelt beside her, his eyes narrowing as he studied her, as if she held the answers to every unspoken question.
Abdel broke the silence, his green Rhemonic complexion darkening with doubt. "We understand Tessa's significance as the moon goddess's representative, but isn't her role temporary? What happens when her time is up?"
Bandel Blue turned, his lips curling into a faint smirk. "Ah, Abdel. I always thought green Rhemonics prided themselves on their intellect. Perhaps I overestimated your kind."
Nyala and Nymff exchanged quick glances, their expressions carefully neutral. It was a silent declaration: ~Don't lump us in with him.
"Tessa is no ordinary representative," Bandel Blue continued, his voice dropping to a reverent hush. "She is the daughter of both Solaris, the Sun God, and Lunara, the Moon Goddess."
The revelation hit like a thunderclap. Gasps echoed around the room, the weight of the truth settling heavily on each of them. Even Abdel's skepticism faltered as his brows shot up in disbelief.
"Wait," Lhize whispered, her voice trembling. "You're saying Tessa is the offspring of two Kaelrian gods?"
Bandel Blue nodded. "Precisely. Adrian may share Solaris's blood, but his mother was a Kaelrian maid. His power is formidable, yes, but it caps at the level of a demi-god. Tessa, however, is unique. She carries the full legacies of both the sun and the moon. She is the only being in existence with the potential to wield both to their fullest extent."
Lhaze's voice was barely above a whisper. "Double the power... but what does that make her?"
"Something the universe has never seen before," Bandel Blue said gravely. "A force capable of reshaping reality itself. But how far she ascends depends entirely on her resolve and choices."
A hushed "wow" escaped Nyala's lips, though her astonishment stemmed from something more personal. She already knew Tessa's lineage, but what left her reeling was Bandel Blue's knowledge of it.
"You seem surprised, Nyala." Bandel Blue turned his piercing gaze to her, his tone laced with quiet arrogance. "Did you think such secrets could be hidden from a god?"
Nyala's throat tightened as she averted her eyes. "The God Eyes," she murmured, her voice tinged with a mix of awe and trepidation.
Bandel Blue inclined his head. "Indeed. My eyes pierce through all illusions. Truths that others bury deep within themselves are laid bare before me."
Nyala clenched her fists, her mind racing. He knows everything...
"But why reveal this now?" Abdel interjected, his voice breaking the tension. "If Tessa's potential is so critical, why keep us in the dark until this moment?"
Bandel Blue rose, his expression hardening. "Because knowledge is a double-edged sword. The more you know, the greater your burden. Now that you understand Tessa's importance, you must be prepared to protect her at all costs. For she is not just the key to Earth's survival—she is the fulcrum upon which the fate of the universe balances."
The room fell into a heavy silence, the gravity of Bandel Blue's words sinking in. Each of them wrestled with the weight of their newfound knowledge, their gazes inevitably drawn back to Tessa's tranquil form.
For better or worse, their destinies were now intertwined with hers.
"Abdel paced anxiously, his mind spinning with possibilities. "How about informing Solaris about what that other god is doing here? Can't he and Lunara team up and beat the hell out of whoever this sinister god is?" he asked, his voice tinged with a mix of hope and desperation.
Bandel Blue's expression remained stoic as he folded his arms. "It's not that simple. While it's easy for Kaelrians to come to Earth, returning to Kaelria is a different matter altogether. You need someone with the blood of Solaris or Lunara to open a portal. Alternatively, you could use an X768 Kaelrian space-ship with the correct coordinates for Planet Kaelria. Any other method would either fail or prove catastrophic," he explained, as if discussing the weather.
"So Tessa and Adrian could open a portal? But... they don't even know how!" Ecdy exclaimed, his brow furrowing in concern.
"If it were that easy," Bandel Blue sighed, "I would've returned long ago. Even as a god, my powers are limited in certain realms. I've been stranded here, watching and waiting for a way back. When I first saw Tessa, I thought she might be my ticket home. But then I sensed the eggs inside her, and I knew her destiny was far more complex. Returning to Kaelria wasn't her priority."
Nyala and Nymff exchanged knowing glances before muttering a quiet "Oh" in unison, pieces of the puzzle clicking into place.
The group turned their attention back to Tessa, her unconscious form floating peacefully in the air. She seemed utterly detached from the weighty conversation unfolding around her, a serene figure amid rising tension.
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. A sharp crackle of electricity filled the room, the air charged with a strange, unsettling energy. The ground beneath them vibrated faintly as a faint rift began to form in the air, its edges shimmering like fractured glass.
Bandel Blue's indifferent expression hardened into a frown. He stepped forward, his eyes narrowing as he analyzed the phenomenon. "A portal is forming," he announced, his voice low and cautious. "It's leading somewhere... either someone is trying to leave, or something is trying to come through."
Abdel's face drained of color. "Something coming here?" he whispered, his voice shaky. He took a step back, instinctively positioning himself behind the others. "We've got enough problems already. We don't need another visitor!"
The crackling intensified, and the rift expanded, its electric tendrils sparking dangerously close to the walls. The once faint hum grew into a roaring buzz, drowning out the room's ambient noise.
Bandel Blue raised a hand, summoning a protective barrier around the group. "Stay back," he warned. "This isn't an ordinary portal. Whoever—or whatever—is able to cause this rift to open— especially one of such magnitude, has significant power."
Ecdy clenched his fists, his gaze darting between the portal and Tessa. "Do we fight? Or do we run?" he asked, his voice tense.
"We wait," Bandel Blue said firmly, his eyes locked on the portal. "And we prepare for whatever happens next."
The group braced themselves, their hearts pounding as the rift reached its peak, casting an eerie glow across the room. The air grew colder, and the energy pulsed with an almost malevolent intent.
And then, with a deafening crack, the portal burst open...
