He strutted down the hall, hands in his pockets and a smirk on his face. He was the king of the school, the one everyone wanted to be like. He had the attitude to match his confidence, and he knew it.
But as he turned the corner, he bumped into someone. He looked down and saw a girl he'd never seen before. She was small and had big brown eyes that looked up at him in surprise.
"I'm sorry," he said, but didn't stop to see if she was okay. He had better things to do than waste time on a nobody like her.
But the girl stayed on his mind all day. He couldn't shake the feeling that he'd seen something special in her eyes, something that he couldn't put into words.
