chapter 1

Another day goes by and still no answers. I'm running out of hope in finding them my shoulder hang low as I continue searching for clues as my adopted mom yells up the stairs "Lydia its time to get ready you can't be late again." I sigh as stand up from my desk grab my bag and jacket as well as lock my bedroom door. I rush down the stairs for breakfast once finished I jog to my car and hear off to school still frustrated that they seem to have disappeared.

Once at school I find a parking spot grab my bag and head in for another day of "excited" learning. the halls are oddly quite for being Friday before a break. I get to my locker drop off my books and head to class before the bell when my best friend Tasha practically tackles me. "Lydia have you found anything new about your birth parents?" she questions me like she does every day "no" I say coldly "but my parents are letting me take the DNA tests so I might get somewhere here soon."

Three periods have flown by and its lunch time. I walk through line getting my burger, pay, and sit down at the usual table to eat. Lucas got there shortly after I did looking tired he was wearing form fit jeans and a basic tee but he still looked like a million bucks. As he sits down across from me its silent without Tasha I don't make friends easy and he's more her friend than mine we exchange small talk as she walks up and sits next to me smiling. we eat in peace till my BFF desides we HAVE to hear about the date she has planned for Saturday. The bell rings and off to the last half of our classes we go. Soon the day ends and I rush home to finish homework.
