"RAWR!" The Dire Bear roars and launches itself towards us.

We both separate and go in opposite directions, I go left, and she goes right. That way we could force the bear to divert its attention, giving the other person an opportunity to attack it from behind.

The bear chooses to focus on me, causing me to slide underneath a claw swipe that would've easily turned any normal human into red paste.

Octavia sees the bear target me and moves into strike from behind.

Struggling to dodge the incoming claw swipes, I'm relieved when the bear cries out in pain and spins around towards Octavia. When the bear turns around it allows me to see a nasty 1-meter-long gash on its back left leg.

'Nice job, Octavia!' I praise mentally.

I move in and attempt to perform the same move she did, but suddenly the bear jerks his head back around towards me.

'Shit, he expected it!' Was my thought as a giant bear paw back handed me, causing me to go flying into the nearby wall fortification.

[-2,100 HP]

I smash through the wall fortification and gasp for air as a few of my bones break and the wind is knocked out of me. I struggle to stand up and am forced to watch as Octavia dodges claw swipe after claw swipe, until eventually she begins to tire and the bears claw finally connects sending her sprawling onto the ground in the mud, and dirt.

Realizing that I might not be able to make it in time as the bear prepares to clamp his jaws down onto Octavia, I open my inventory and equip the [Demon's Head Ring] granting me +20 agility.

I jump up and sprint to the bear's back hind leg, and with one slash I completely cut the leg off. The bear roars in fury, and swivels around to attack me, but before he can, Octavia plunges her sword deep into the Dire Bear's neck causing it to jerk back in pain, dislodging the sword and Octavia.

Octavia falls back to the ground, and I make my way over to her as the bear continues to roar and cry out in pain and anger.

"Are you alright?" I asked her, while still maintaining a good distance away from the Dire Bear.

"Yeah, I think a few of my ribs are broken, it's no problem." She says slightly hunched over, and grinning.

I cast [Major Heal] onto both of us, Octavia slowly straightens her back and asked how I did that.

[+817 HP]

"Magic remember, now we don't have time to talk about that. We need to kill this fucker!"

"Right!" She yells.

Over the course of the next few minutes, we continuously attacked the beast, cut after cut, slash after slash, until eventually the bear collapsed into exhaustion.

Blood covered the Dire Bears entire body as the near 50 cuts on its body continued to bleed profusely. I walked up to it, and shoved Fury's song in between its eyes, killing it.

- Alpha Station | The Ground -

After making our way back to Alpha station, I met up with Kane and distributed the supplies we had gathered from the dropship. The tents and blankets were given to the people who still needed them, or they were placed into storage alongside the materials I had gathered. The ammo was placed inside large military grade crates located in the armory.

I had then gone straight to the small blacksmith station I had set up the other day and began work on upgrading the Ranger's armor immediately. I also was able to create new [Fur leggings] as well.

[Item: Fur Leggings]

Item Rarity: C

Type: Armor

Effects: Cold Resistance +10%

Combining the Dire Bear Fur as well as a few other hides and other materials allowed me to make the chestpiece slightly stronger compared to the other Fur armor.

[Item: Armored Dire Bear Fur Chestpiece]

By the time I finished reworking the armor, it was late into the night. When I arrived back at my room Shadow was pacing outside, and when he saw me, he bolted into my arms.

"Hey, buddy, I'm alright." I said calming him.

Entering my room, Shadow trots over to the corner and lays down onto his bed, and both Octavia and Clarke were already fast asleep.

Unequipping my armor I sit on the edge of the bed, I open my inventory and bring out one of the Random loot boxes. In a flash of light, a purple and blue striped Christmas present teleported into my hands.

Placing the gauntlets into my inventory, I bring out the second Random loot box. In a flash of light, a purple and blue striped Christmas present once again teleported into my hands.

- A Few Days Later | Alpha Station | The Ground -

Within the past few days, groups of people from different stations have flooded into the newly named Arkadia. I thought about naming it Camelot but decided against it after Kane, and Abby's persistence at the name.

So far, our population has risen from 164 people to 270, with the number of Guards rising from 24 to 58, and the Rangers have grown from 15 to 33. Due to the new influx of people construction has progressed rapidly, before we estimated that we could finish a single building in one day, maybe. Now, we can finish 2 if not sometimes 3.

Right now, I am working on a short sword design for the guards and rangers. Specifically, for whenever they run out of ammo or if their guns are somehow knocked out of their hands. The blade has a loose elven design to it, and I would already be working on it if not for the lack of materials.

Due to the increased efficiency in construction most of the metals that I would've melted down and reforged into swords are being used in the rebuilding effort.

"Rider at the gate! It's Lincoln!" I heard the guard's yell.

I quickly made my over and greeted him at the gate.

"Lincoln, I'm glad you're back. What's the news concerning the commander." I asked as he dismounted from his horse, and we began walking back towards Alpha Station.

"The commander has agreed to peace now that you are the leader of your people, and that she seeks to show this to the other clans."

"How so?"

"She plans to have our people work together to take down the mountain. That way it will show the people that you are not like the mountain men and can be trusted."

"Has she already begun massing her army?" I asked, slightly worried.

"By the time I left the capital she had begun calling on the clan leaders, and amassing troops."

'Damn! I wanted to try and disable the acid fog a different way, other than having someone sneak in and deactivate it, but it doesn't look like that might be an option anymore.' These were my thoughts as we entered Alpha station and walked towards the council chambers.

After we had entered the council chambers I walked over to the circular console and pressed a faint yellow button, activating the P.A system.

*RING*

*RING*

*RING*

"Abigail Griffin, Marcus Kane, and Bellamy Blake please make your way to council chamber." I said over the P.A.

Kane and Bellamy showed up first with Abby showing up a few minutes later.

"Sorry, I was in the middle of an operation." Abby apologizes as she enters the room.

"It's okay, Abby." Kane says accepting her apology. "I imagine you called us here because Lincoln is back, and he has news?" he asked shifting attention onto me.

"Correct, Kane. The commander has declared that there is peace between our 2 peoples." At that statement they all 3 breathed a sigh of relief. "However, the commander has requested us to join her in a military campaign against the mountain men, and to bring it down once and for all."

"What does she plan to do about the acid fog?" Bellamy asked.

"That's actually where you come in."

"What?" he asked confused.

"The commander has already begun massing her army, we need someone on the inside to disable the acid fog and to lower their defenses, distract them. Otherwise, the army that she will bring will be useless. I need you to make your way in and do just that. Raven will be able to tell you what you need to look for once you've made your way inside." I told him, causing Abby to be shocked.

"How will I make it in?" Bellamy asked.

"I could get you in, I know where the reapers enter. It's a set of tunnels near your dropship, once we enter those tunnels the reapers will find you easily." Lincoln answered.

"Wait, hold on. What makes you sure you can deactivate it!" Abby says in protest.

"Abby, something like the acid fog has to have a deactivation mechanism, otherwise the acid fog wouldn't come and go, it would be constantly there." Kane says while grabbing Abby's forearm.

Bellamy tears his gaze away from the now bickering Kane and Abby. "When do we leave." he asked, looking at both me and Lincoln.

"Now."

- Mount Weather | The Ground -

- Monty Green -

The previous night Monty had gone to sleep with fear, fear of what happened to Harper. After they had broken into President Wallace's office and discovered evidence of their friends and the Ark being alive, Harper had disappeared. That was 3 days ago.

So, when Monty suddenly woke up in nothing but rags and in a cage, he realized where Harper had gone, also because she was laying down with dried blood on her face in the cell above him.

"Harper! Hey, Harper. What did they do to you?" Monty asked, causing Harper to open her eyes and snap out of her daze.

"Forty-seven. They built one for each of us." she said, beginning to sob quietly.

Monty began looking around the room and observed its solid concrete walls and singular air vent. Lastly, the 45 other cages besides his and Harpers.

'Wherever you guys are, please help us. Arthur, Clarke.' Monty prayed desperately.
