CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER VI: THE GOBLIN QUEST

It's been a month since my arrival on this godforsaken wasteland. I say wasteland because it is a fucking wasteland. It's an understatement to say that I miss earth.

I miss watching tv, eating meat, eating pizza. Playing videogames and all the comforts of modern life. I miss hearing music, I miss my phone. I always prided myself as a guy who could survive anywhere. My dad used to take me and my cousins into the wilderness for days and weeks on end. The difference then was that I had a tv and my Play Station waiting.

So anyway the first week I started training so hard I could barely walk. After that my strength, speed and stamina improved drastically. It was like the Ki became one with my body.

For the next week I started training using the Ki to manifest and enhance my attributes but once again only my physical attributes improved. I spent quite a lot of money on potions to recover but it was all worth it.

I can do a 100 meters in under 8 seconds now. Move a boulder roughly the size of a 2 story house. I can run full sprint for roughly 10 minutes straight.

For the next 2 weeks I trained with the sword I bought for a gold coin. Fucking expensive but I don't really care. Plus the potions and nrw clothes it was all a necessity. Of course once a week I'd take a quest from the guild so as not to lose my membership.

I've pretty much kept a low profile and kept to myself. Due to the training I've almost become ripped but I still can't do a Ki blast. In order to motivate myself I've decided to with hold going to a brothel until I can do a Ki blast.

Needless to say I'm almost always carrying a boner these days. I refuse to rub it out until I can do a Ki blast.

So there I stood in front of the quest board. Eyeing the board up and down, scanning for that one quest. At the very top left corner it was. An E-rank quest from a nearby village. To rescue a bunch of girls kidnapped by goblins.

The fee is only 10 silvers hence the low rank but from what I understand it's apparently at least C-rank in difficulty. I'm not taking it because of the silver but for my first mission. I've delayed it long enough. The quest had been here for almost 2 weeks.

This world is so boring. All I do is eat sleep and train. I want to go back home. So I ripped it off from the board. I showed the paper to Gwen who simply nodded along.

She then wrote the quest down in the r ecord books. It's based on these records that you're promoted.

I got out of the Guild Hall and into the city streets. The village is about a days journey to the north. I make my way towards the north gate.

I have my new leather armour. My sword in its scabbard by my waist. Expensive dried meats in my bag and a black cloak with a hood. In all I have less than 15K now. This world is surprisingly expensive or maybe it's the kingdom.

The next day, it's late morning, around 12 I think. I'm still not use to the time system in this world. The days are about 30 hours, meaning an extra six hours then earth. So noon is around :00 hours.

The nights are super long that I get up like twice and just lay there at night while thinking of my life on earth. By 7 the sun is already high up. It was a hassle to get used to it and I still can't get used to it.

The longer days have made training easier hence my faster improvement. I still lack actual battle experience though. I'm hoping to fix that with this quest.

Long Story Short, the planet is named Ros. About thrice the size of earth and a year of roughly 425 days divided into 14 months.

The gravity should be stronger as it corresponds to its size but I still feel it like I did on earth. Even less so now since my strength has increased by three fold.

So anyway I'm on the top of hill of grasslands north of the city. In front of me stood the client village, Ronta Vro. A small farming village of maybe 2 or 300 people. The layout was a mixture of large fields and farms houses.

I could see people tending the fields, children playing around. Just a peaceful bliss about it. So I started walking towards it. I have to meet the chief and discuss details of the quest.
