"So what are you going to do with us? You already know what we are soo..." Everette's eyes shone with caution and worry about the situation they were currently in. It's even worse, considering he is getting dizzy from staring at the back of his cloak.
"Hm? We're going to settle this like gentlemen." Crow said nonchalantly after turning around and continuing their walk.
"Hm? Like gentlemen?" Everette mimicked his words with a confused expression. His brows raised in curiosity, but the edge of his lips tilted into a frown at Crow's manner of speaking.
"Yes. We will hold a team battle. You guys have about... six people, including you, in total. I will have a team of five other people."
Everette eyes widened while also trembling at this sudden challenge, "And if we don't accept?" Although knowing what might happen, he still wanted to ask.
"Look, man. We can just force you guys to surrender and achieve the king class. I'm only doing this because it is fair for you guys."
"What're you? Some kind of judge?"
"No. But I was a lawyer before all this."
'That explains why he acts so hospitable and thinks about being fair with us.'
Everette breathed out a sigh. He softly gazed at Ada's unconscious face for a bit before looking back up towards Crow, "Could you please give us some time to discuss it with our leader?"
Crow nodded before falling silent for the rest of the walk. After reaching the exit, they noticed a blonde-headed girl with her hair tied into a ponytail.
"Lynda!" Crow yelled out to her.
"Could you please take these two with you?" He waved towards the girl in the ponytail before passing us off to her. "I'll send Raven over tomorrow for your guy's response!"
Before turning around to leave, he shouted out some news that caused Everette's eyes to flash with concern, "Oh yeah! She may act a little out of character when she wakes up, but it's only temporary!"
Just as Everette was about to ask him more behind the words, he said he saw him already running away.

*End Of Flashback*
"And that's about what happened." Everette looked towards everyone in the living room. He just got done explaining what happened.
The three sitting on the couch had mixed feelings about the coming team battle. Jack was the first to speak up amongst the three, "Assuming that I got her basic personality down, I predict that Ada is going to be ecstatic about this."
Everyone's face other than Jack began to twist and turn into an expression that would say, "I hate how right you sound."
Patrick gave an exaggerated sigh before reaching into his pocket and pulling out the box of cigarettes, "..." Everette noticed Patrick's face wrinkling to that of frustration.
"You can smoke out the window."
"It's not that." Patrick crumpled up the box before roaring at the ceiling, "ITS THAT I DON'T GOT ANYMORE TO SMOKE—!"
His sudden outburst caused Alice to peer out the door to the bedroom with an irritated expression, "Patrick..."
"—Ugh!" He stiffened up before slowly turning around to her. An imaginary creaking sound could be heard as his slow turning came to a stop and met the eyes of the angry Alice.
"Quiet."
"Y-Yes, ma'am..."
After Alice closed the door, the room gave a small sigh of relief. Everette raised his brow at the fact that he sighed, too, "Why did I sigh?"
He then felt a pat on his shoulder. He looked up to see Patrick holding his shoulder while trying to aim his shot towards an open small bin in the corner.
The crumpled box arced in the air before landing inside the bin, "LET'S G—!" He covered his mouth while sneaking a glance at the bedroom door. Everyone gave him a deadpan expression at his constant outburst.
"And you call me a kid." Everette mocked him with a smirk. Patrick's right bottom eyelid subtly twitched before slowly turning towards Everette and giving him a glare.
"That's because you're. I am just listening to the words of a woman the same age as me." A deafening silence enveloped the room. Except for Patrick, everyone's eyes widened at the sudden revelation of Alice's age.
"Hahaha...What? No way she is the same age as your old ass." Everette broke the silence with doubtful laughter. His eyes drifted towards the bedroom door with uncertainty.
"Hm? What makes you say that?"
"W-Well... Wouldn't she have wrinkles?" He remembered how smooth her skin was and how it was devoid of any obvious wrinkles. At Everette's horrid reasoning for how young she looked, Patrick just shrugged.
"Besides her albinism, good genetics, I guess?"
Everette then remembered back to how she said that she always assumed to be an elderly person because of her white hair. 'She was an old lady, after all!'

Half an hour later, the door to the bedroom slowly widened, followed by the excited call, "She's awake!" Everyone's back straightened at the good news before quickly making their way to her.
"Mmgh...~" Their eyes laid upon Ada's lying figure on the bed, and they watched how she greeted their entrance with a groggy moan after waking up.
Everyone rushed to her side before bombarding her with questions about her well-being.
"Hey, Ada, are you okay!?"
"Yeah, what the kid said!"
"D-Does it hurt still?"
"You can still think, right? We're going to be needing an extra head for the thing coming up—"
The answers they were all expecting were met with pillows thrown into their face. Everette pulled the pillow off his face with an angry expression before noticing a hump under the blanket and the missing Ada.
He raised a brow before inching, closing, and yanking the blanket off of her. The blanket fluttered in the air and revealed a frightened girl under it. Finding out the shield keeping her and the others out was ripped off of her, she shrieked.
She crawled backwards towards the head of the bed and stared at them fearfully. Her trembling hands covered her face to shield her from the piercing stares at her.
Besides Everette, Jack noted traits not usually found in the usual Ada. Trembling hands, shivering like she was afraid of them, avoiding eye contact like it'd give her the plague.
It was almost like—
"—Her mind did a whole 180 degrees flip," Jack mumbled under his breath, which caused Everette's ear to twitch. He turned towards Jack with a concerned and expectant look in his eyes.
"You think her personality changed."
Jack nodded grimly before continuing, "You told us that, according to Crow, she would be acting a little "Out Of Character", right?"
Everette gave a slow nod.
"Then I believe that whatever happened has caused her to perhaps... Lose her backbone...? Or perhaps just a flip of some kind." He shrugged before suggesting for everyone to leave her alone for a bit.
"She's currently not in an optimal state for a leader to be able to make critical decisions. Let's give her some room, and I hope she'll recover by tomorrow."
"A-And what if she doesn't?" Jack glanced towards Amelia before tilting his head up with a thoughtful expression. "Then we'll have to make the decision ourselves."
After a few more moments of back-and-forth discussion about what to do next, they decided to leave the room to give Ada some space.
"Hm?" Everette felt something tug at the edge of his sleeve and looked back to see Ada's pleading eyes staring into his. Her face began to heat up the longer they continued to look into each other's eyes before turning to face down towards her lap.
Everette's ears then picked up a soft whisper coming from Ada.
"D-Don't go... D-Don't leave me..."
