How a Party Fights

The ground shook heavily, as if something were on a rampage. The leaves of the trees slowly fell to the ground while I and the others were heading towards the location that Grand had told me about.

Just then, I saw a huge humanoid creature standing with its back facing us.

It was about eight meters tall and had a very muscular body.

Its skin was red mixed with a bit of pale orange; it had a large wooden club on its left hand; and some ornaments were tightly placed on its biceps and wrists. It was wearing a garment covering some of its private parts, while its thighs were undoubtedly muscular. And as it turned around, it had several tribal tattoos on its chest and two fangs that came out from its bottom teeth. Its eyes were feisty red, as if it were high on opium.

Before it could spot us, Arthur, who was usually composed all the time, suddenly wore a gruesome expression. As if he was extremely angered just by the sight of that huge monster.

"That's the monster." Rin muttered, frozen in her spot while pointing at the huge monster that stood before us.

"That hobgoblin... I'll kill you!!!" shouted Arthur, who immediately rushed towards the huge hobgoblin without precaution.

The hobgoblin took notice of Arthur's presence and instantly roared as it echoed throughout the forest.

A loud clang occurred. I raised my head and noticed that Arthur was blown away.

A wooden club can make a metal sound?" I wondered, staring at the hobgoblin's overwhelming appearance.

Arthur, who got blown away, immediately stood up and rushed again, without thinking about any plans. He rushed head-on, aiming to kill the hobgoblin with his strength.

But the hobgoblin just stood his ground, waiting for Arthur to come. Just as Arthur got closer, the hobgoblin instantly swung its huge wooden club vertically downward, aiming to crush Arthur in one strike.

Arthur, who was somewhat consumed by his emotions, took the hobgoblin's attack directly without hesitation.

*Baam!*

Smoke occurred while the ground shook entirely.

Luckily, Arthur snapped out of his state and evaded the hobgoblin's attack in a mere second.

"Arthur! Snap out of it!" yelled Lucas, who also went and stood behind the hobgoblin.

"We know that you're angry, but don't let your emotions get to you. Or else, you'll die." said Rin, who stood from afar, covering them with some protection magic.

The hobgoblin that got its posture after pulling out its club that was stuck on the ground was instantly shot by a fireball that Rosalie cast.

Rosalie grinned while the hobgoblin took a glance at her.

Tate, who somehow appeared behind the hobgoblin, instantly threw several projectiles, aiming to hit the back of its head. But the hobgoblin that noticed it instantly swung its club and deflected the projectiles.

"Guys." Arthur muttered after realizing that he was not alone.

"Don't you ever run like that, Arthur! Now let's kill this bastard." said Lucas, while they formed a triangle-like formation and cornered the hobgoblin.

Rin and Rosalie were positioned near me, supporting them from afar. Meanwhile, I, who was somehow amazed by their tactic, just stood and watched them carefully.

The hobgoblin roared once again and immediately turned around towards Arthur.

"Come on! Bring it!" Arthur said loudly, mocking the hobgoblin as he raised his sword at it.

The hobgoblin who got provoked instantly swung its club at Arthur. And Arthur, who waited for its attack to get closer, stood his ground. Just as the club was nearing him, he parried it, forcing the huge club to strike the ground. In that moment, Arthur jumped over the club and ran with his sword held in both of his hands.

Meanwhile, Tate and Lucas rushed forward and attacked the hobgoblin's knees and neck.

Tate's projectiles struck the hobgoblin's neck with ease, and Lucas slashed the hobgoblin's knee caps, forcing it to fall on its knees as blood showered from its severe wounds.

Arthur, who ran at the hobgoblin's arm, instantly swung his sword, aiming to slice off its head.

But before the tip of Arthur's blade could come into contact with the hobgoblin's neck, the hobgoblin burst out in a loud roar, making the three flinch in an instant.

Rosalie, who was finished casting her magic, began releasing several fireballs that headed towards the hobgoblin. But the hobgoblin jumped above, causing Arthur, Tate, and Lucas to stumble while the fireballs that Rosalie released missed.

Arthur fell on the ground and raised his head, a large silhouette covered him as he saw the hobgoblin's feet heading towards him. With mere instincts, he rolled over to the left side and successfully evaded the hobgoblin's stomp attack.

The ground was shaken, and smoke occurred as dust began to scatter. Lucas, who was rushing towards the hobgoblin from behind, was ready to swing his sword and strike the hobgoblin.

But the hobgoblin suddenly turned its head around and swung its wooden club in a quick movement, forcing Lucas to block its attack with his sword.

The impact was too strong, even when Lucas managed to block it, and he was sent flying in a split second.

Tate, who hid his presence, appeared in front of the hobgoblin and was about to throw some projectiles. But after a single blink, the hobgoblin that just swung its club at Lucas was already swinging its club directly towards Tate.

If I get hit by that, I'm going to die." Tate mumbled in his head, completely frozen by the sight of death nearing him.

Luckily, Arthur appeared and parried the trajectory of the Hobgoblin's attack, pushing it to hit the ground from their right side.

"Now!" yelled Arthur, while Tate snapped and instantly threw several projectiles at the hobgoblin's face.

Just as the projectiles struck its eyes and cheeks, several fireballs came his way and struck it from the side, forcing the hobgoblin to stumble on the ground.

"How dare you send me flying!" shouted Lucas, who appeared above and was ready to swing his sword at the hobgoblin's head.

"Blessed strength!" Rin said loudly, while Lucas's entire body shone.

Before the hobgoblin could react and regain its balance, its head was instantly cut off by Lucas's sword.

Blood showered like a fountain while the hobgoblin's head fell and rolled over the ground. Its body instantly fell and collapsed, while more blood came out of its neck, streaming through the ruined grass.

"We did it!" yelled Rosalie, who wore an excited expression.

Tate instantly slapped Arthur's back and said, "Finally! The hobgoblin's dead!"

Arthur smiled, Lucas smirked, and he gave a thumbs-up. Rin sighed out of relief, and Rosalie ran towards the three in an excited manner.

I just stood my ground, astonished by their team play. The way they fought was somewhat similar to those fantasy movies I've seen back on earth.

Their strategy was a bit clumsy, but with their wits and fast movements, they actually turned the tables and defeated the hobgoblin.

[Notice: Their fighting style was average, their team play was completely flawed, and their attack patterns were predictable and very lacking.]

[Therefore, Master should not be amazed by their performance, for they performed poorly.]

"Well, I guess you could say that."

The five of them looked happy, as if they'd achieved something great. I guess there is a backstory to the hobgoblin. Seeing as how Arthur gets enraged after seeing the hobgoblin in front of him, something must have happened to them in the past. And that hobgoblin must have been the cause.

"Sir Heinz!" Lucas said, waving at me to come towards them.

Looking at their smiling faces, I should praise them." I mumbled in my head, slowly walking towards them.

[Notice: Praising them is nonsensical because they have performed poorly.]

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just praise them a little, okay, Grand?" I said through thought communication.

[Sigh....]

"Eh? Did you just sigh?"

[You must have heard it wrong.]

"No you literally just sighed! Don't lie to me!"

"See!"

And after that, I went to Arthur and the others and praised them for their outstanding performance. But the fact that Grand was somehow opposed to it—well, nevermind about it.
