Chapter 9 - Control

(Stiles POV)

I was currently sitting with my dad in his squad car, i was helping him in a stake out, we were spending father & son quality time, it was around 6pm at night. Jake had said it was fine, i don't know what it is, but myself, Danny and Sarah have been in complete control of ourselves, and another thing Jake told us, is that we had become variant werewolves, something called a Zeta werewolf, he said it had something to do with our intelligence, and that we were betas but different,

we had discussed it further this morning, and found out that Danny, Sarah and i's ability to think and process information had drastically increased, like dude, we're like Lex Luthor on steroids, our strength and speed have increased, Jake said after our first full moon we'll know exactly how much stronger we are, so yeah, i am spending the night on a stake out with my dad,

"Hey, you forget my curly fries?" my dad asked while chewing his burger, "Your not supposed to eat fries, especially with the curly ones" i said while checking the plastic bag full of takeout, "Ah, well i'm carrying a lethal weapon, if i want the curly fries, i will have the curly fries" my dad said smugly,

"If you think getting rid of all your senses makes your argument anymore legitimate, you are wrong" i stated, i than had to take a step back and re-think what i just said, 'Damn this high intelligence thing is no joke' i thought proudly to myself, my dad was left speechless and he gave me a look that said 'Really?'.

A few seconds later the police radio buzzed to life, *Bzzt* "Unit one, do you copy?" the voice asked, with my free hand i reached for the receiver, only to have my hand slapped away by my dad, as he looked at me with a raised eyebrow *Ahem* he cleared his throat, "Sorry" i said, and took a spork full of curly fries and put em in my mouth,

"Unit one copy" my dad answered, "We found a report of a possible 1-8-7" the voice reported, "A murrdurr" i said with my mouth full with fries and looked at my dad with excitement, "Stiles, swallow before you speak" my dad said while rolling his eyes, "Unit one enroute, what's the address?" he replied before starting the car.

When we arrived on scene, i saw a fire department ambulance parked just outside the DVD store, and on the back of it was Lydia, she was sitting inside, and an EMT was checking her over, Jackson stood outside holding her hand, my dad drove up and parked the car before getting out, "Stiles, stay here" my dad said through the window before he went over to talk to a couple deputies "Parrish, mind filling me in on what you've found out" my dad asked a young musculine deputy,

while they were talking i pulled out my phone and called Jake, i told him what was going on, he said he'd be over in a minute and hung up, i stepped out of the car and i smelt the metalic scent in the air, it was blood, it didn't smell fresh, "Why the hell can't i just go home?" i heard some one say forcefully, pulling my attention back, i turned to see who it was,

"I hear ya, but the EMTs said you hit your head pretty hard" my dad said tryna calm down the already fuming Jackson, "They just wanna make sure you don't have a concussion" he finished, "Wha-wha- what part of i'm fine are you having a problem grasping, ok? i wanna go home" he said firmly, i could feel his anger and anxiety, and it kinda influenced me a little because before i knew it, i was walking towards him,

"And i understand that.. "my dad responded calmly again, "No you don't, you don't understand, which kinda blows my mind, since it should be a pretty basic concept to grasp, for a minimum waged rent-a-cop like you, ok now I WANNA GO! HOME!" he yelled and got in front of my dad's face,

i acted on pure instinct and swiftly moved infront of him and hoisted him up by his collars before ramming him hard against the ambulance *BANG!* "Aargh" he gasped, "STILES!" my dad yelled and grabbed my shoulders to pull me away from Jackson, he tried but i was to strong for him alone, Lydia who was sitting in the ambulance had her eyes wide open, "Stiles, put the arrogant prick down and step away" i heard a familiar voice say in a low calm tone,

i turned and saw Jake standing not to far away in sweat pants and running shoes, and a muscle shirt athletes wear when training, "J-Jake" i said before dropping Jackson on his ass and stepping away, "Stiles i told you to stay in the car" my dad said disappointedly and shook his head, it was at this time that the EMTs came out pushing a body bag out the door, "WOAH! is that a dead body?" i calmed down before i exclaimed and pointed at the body bag, Jake who was behind me draped an arm around my neck and pulled me back, "Come on let your dad do his work without worrying about your psyche" he said while dragging me away, "Thanks Jake" i heard my dad say as he and the deputies on scene started condoning off the area, "Come on Stiles let's get on the roof, Scott and Derek should be there by now" Jake said and led the way around to the back of the store before grabbing me and jumping up to the roof, "WOAAH!" i yelled as we landed, "Dude we can do that?" I asked totally fan boying out, not expecting to jump that high, "Correction, i can do that, you guys can probably climb faster with a few jumps and hand placements" Jake said while smiling smugly,

"Aw man, *sigh* , by the way where's Erica and the rest?" i asked him, "Oh well, they've been busy decorating and choosing their rooms, so i came by myself, besides it's a good way for us to work together" he said with a shrug and patted my back while we walked forward, Danny and Sarah had moved into Jake and Erica's apartment in the morning, they had some kind of family meeting with their family and some how convinced them to let them do it, and it wasn't like Jake had a small place, i mean it was huge, 8 freaking bedrooms, a game room, security room, and terrace on the roof with a pool and BBQ area, i mean talk about the best place to throw a party, and the dude is my alpha, 'Wait i wonder if i can ask him to buy me a car' i thought to myself.

I saw Derek and Scott standing at the edge looking down at the ambulance and sheriff's deputies below, "Hey guys" i said and waved, "Stiles what are you doing here?" Scott asked with his brooding worry filled face, "I'm here with Jake, plus my dad got the call and brought me so yeah" i said with a shrug,

"Stiles it's dangerous" Scott added, "Oh stop worrying so much, Stiles has been using jasmine to wash, just like me and the rest of the Dusk pack, he is practically invisible to the alpha now" Jake defended, Scott looked like he wanted to fight Jake, "Alright Stiles, forget about Scott for a moment and focus, what do you feel, close your eyes, and feel your surroundings, what kind of emotion did the alpha leave behind" Jake instructed,

i did as he said and within minutes i felt something, it was dark, almost suffocating, rage, fury, bloodlust it was all there, my eyes snapped open glowing golden, my vision changed, i could see clearly like it was day time, i see heat signitures if i concentrated furthur, and there was a tint of golden in my line of sight, sweat fell down my brows, "Well done Stiles, you've just taken the first steps to anchoring your werewolf side" Jake said with a hint of pride in his voice, "What do you mean?" i asked with confusion,

"What you've done is something no bitten has ever been able to do before their first full moon, you've just learned to control a significant skill of a werewolf, looks like you and the rest of Jake's betas are prodigies" Derek replied with a grin, "Come on let's get out of here" Jake said, which promted us to move.

(Stiles POV End)

(MC POV)

We ran through the woods towards the old Hale house, Stiles was faster than Scott, and was keeping up pretty well with Derek, "Hahaha Wooo! What a rush!, i mean did you see that, everything moved past us like a blur" he said with a goofy smile, "*Sigh* Stiles, just shush" i said shaking my head, the entire way here, Stiles kept talking and asking qestions to the point Derek wanted to strangle him,

"Ah right, sorry got a litte excited" he said scratching the back of his head, Scott didn't talk much, he was pouting like a kid, as we walked into the ramshackled house, "Y-you know i have a life too" Scott said looking at Derek who was heading up the stairs, "No you don't" Derek replied nonchantedly, "Yes i do, i don't care about him making me part of his pack" Scott stated dramatically, "Um.. Jake what should we do?" Stiles whispered beside me as we both watched Scott and Derek, "We watch" i replied, we both just stood to the side and watched Derek and Scott.

I took out a bag of potato chips i had tucked away in my sweat pants pocket, "Chip?" i asked Stiles opening the chips packet, "Sure" Stiles replied as he took a handful, and chewed one, *Crunch*, "oooh! this tastes sweet" he said, "I have to go to a parent teacher conference tomorrow because i'm failing Chemistry" Scott emphasized his plight, "You wanna do homework.... or do you wanna.. not die?" Derek said pausing for effect and enunciating each word,

"*Crunch* Abit dramatic, but, A+ for delivery" Stiles commented as he ate another chip, "Scott's not lying, dudes gotten the lowest scores in all chemistry tests, Mr. Harris has practically given up on teaching him" he whispered to me, i just chuckled and brought my index finger to my lips to gesture Stiles to be quiet and watch,

"You have less than a week until the full moon, you don't kill with him he kills you" Derek said seriously, "Ok seriously, who made up this rules?" Scott asked feeling fed-up, "It's a right of passage into his pack" Derek replied, "Wait, do we have a right of passage into the Dusk pack?" Stiles leaned over and whispered, "*Sigh* No, i didn't make one" i shrugged uncaringly, rights of passage where old pack traditions, passed down from alphas of powerful werewolf families, like the Hales,

"Oh! well i think we should make one for future members" Stiles said and ate another chip, "Dude, don't expect me to just go around giving the gift, to anyone, i don't want someone like Scott as a beta" i whispered back making Stiles stifle a laugh before he nodded in understanding,

"You know what else is a right of passage? Graduating from highschool, and you don't have to kill anyone to do it" Scott said with grit, "Why can't you guys just find him yourselves? Why can't you just sniff him out when your a human" Scott asked, to be honest i could, but Peter had already left the hospital, he wasn't there anymore,

and i had to worry about Erica, Danny, Sarah and Stiles now, they have to experience their first full moon to gain better control of their wolf sides, and also strengthen and uncover their gifts and specialisations, you see gifts are sometimes specific to one family or sired line,

like the Hales, who could remove, re-live and mind meld with someones memories by sticking their claws into the back of their necks, there was more to it but only our mom, Talia and sister Laura knew, my sired lines gift was more the empathic link i share with my betas, i could read their surface thoughts and feel their emotions some what,

it wasn't strong, it would only get stronger and we could probably have a telepathic link between all of us, but only if the gift is strengthened after their first full transformation(Teen wolf Transformation) on a full moon, specialisations would mean, what kinda zetas Stiles, Danny and Sarah would be.

"Because his human scent could be entirely different, it has to be you" Derek yelled bringing my attention back to the present, "You have a connection with him, a link which you can't understand, if i can teach you to control your abilities you can find him" Derek stated, making Scott think for a moment before he replied, "So if i help you, you can stop him" Scott said,

"Not alone, We're stronger in numbers, a pack makes the individual more powerful" Derek clarified, "Wait, so that means i'm stronger when i'm with you guys?" Stiles asked with a whisper and looked at me, i simply nodded, "How am i supposed to help if i have no idea what i'm doing?" Scott asked exasperatedly, "Because i'm going to teach you, do you remember what happened the first night you were shot in the arm?.. Right after you were hit?" Derek asked looking Scott right in the eyes, "Yeah i changed back" Scott answered,

"Mmhhmm, and when you were hit by Argent's car same thing right?" Derek asked and took a step down to Scott's level as Scott nodded, "What's the common denominator?" he asked Scott, who looked confused, without saying another word Derek grabbed Scott's hand and crushed it *SCRUNCH* "UURRGN, No-AUGH-NFm" Scott grunted and fell to his knees,

"What the hell are you doing?" Stiles yelled, i held his shoulder causing Stiles to stop and not move, he looked at me before turning to watch Derek and Scott, "it will heal" Derek said like it was nothing, "It still hurt" Scott said with anger, "And that's what keeps you human... Pain" Derek said as we watched Scott's hand heal and fix the broken bones,

"Um... Your not gonna crush my hand like that if i can't control myself right?" Stiles asked me nervously, "Maybe, that's why i'm teaching you and the rest to control yourselves and find your anchors" i replied with a shrug, "Huh... c-c-cool, so cool... *Gulp* s-so.." Stiles stammered nervously, "Oh lighten up, my teaching methods are better than Derek's" i said patting his shoulder and headed up to talk with Derek. We spent a few hours talking before Stiles and I left.
