Mo Qiu returned to his chambers fuming with anger. 'The audacity of these people' he thought as he thought back to the picture.
His heart squeezed with longing and heartbreak once again, thinking of that picture. A girl in leather breeches and a bow on her back sat on one of the garden steps and smiled softly at him. They both looked at the boy playing around in the garden, jumping over paths, flinging water everywhere and occasionally shooting lightning from his hands for no reason.
He had liked Lord Jo. He was a nice man, something of a visionary. With video game-like powers, and a visionary like that at the helm, MoQiu thought the people would have better days.
This evaluation played a significant portion in his acceptance of service under Lord Jo.
However, today, he was very much disappointed.
