-Chapter 38- Newly Born Djinn

"Are you insane???!!!!!" Saya yells, she barely holds herself back from pushing me off of the infirmary bed.

"No, I am just thinking about this from another viewpoint," I respond

"You really think you can assimilate your body to the Djinn mana???" Saya asks.

"Yes, in theory, it should all work, I will move and allow my body and core to absorb the mana and adjust to it," I explain the process. "It will probably take a long time for it to be complete but as I said, it should work."

She sighs and facepalms, I can tell she is worried that I'll do something wrong but I'm sure I can do this correctly. "Promise me this, I'm allowed to overlook this and if I think you need to do something, you do it." She emits a small amount of mana in an attempt to threaten me into submission.

"Fine with me, but you're not allowed to stop me," I responded.

After receiving my dimension ring back I take out my sword, the shine of the blade drawing my attention once again, I look at the purple that makes up the blade. "So this was aether the entire time..." I look at it amazed, I hate only learning this thanks to Saya's explanation.

I begin to flow a small amount of mana and I feel the sword begin to flow its own power back into me. The feeling of the power entering my body is intoxicating.

I had to keep myself sane and try and limit the amount of it, 'No wonder I wouldn't stop fighting back at the mock battle. This gives me some kind of power high.'

I slowly try to move the mana it's emitting through my body, through each muscle, each mana channel/vein, and my mana core, all of it.

I can't sense the aether it emits into my body but I just hope it is sticking together with the mana the sword emits.

I continued this for a few hours. I only take my first break when I hear a knock on the door. I put away the sword into my dimension ring. "Come in!" I yell loud enough for the people outside the room to hear.

The door bursts open and I see my mother and Eleanor run in followed by my father, when they see me in the infirmary bed my mother runs at me. "Arthur! Are you ok? Let me heal you."

I try to stop her but she insists and she tries and finds my wounds, upon finding no wounds on me she gets confused. "What happened? I was told you got into a serious accident."

Trying to come up with a better explanation than 'A Phoenix picked me up and saved me I decided to tell her that an emitter came by and chose to heal me.

"Ah, good. I'm glad you're ok now." My mom says.

"But you still need to tell us everything that happened!" My sister yells.

"And don't leave out any details, I want to hear all about your first school fight." My dad jokes to get a panicked expression from my mother.

"You won't believe it, they were twenty feet tall." I joke to my father.

Eventually the doors open again and in walks Kathyln, she stops dead in her tracks when she sees there were other people in the room.

"Oh, who's this?" My mother asks.

"Pardon me for not introducing myself, I am Kathyln Glayder. My brother and I are friends of Arthur's." She says using her quiet reserved tone.

"Oh, Princess Kathyln, it's an honor to be in your presence." My parents try to fix themselves to try and be more respectful.

"Thank you," she says, "I will leave and let you all continue, I am sorry for the intrusion." She tries to leave the awkward situation.

"No no it's fine you can stay," my mother tries to fix the situation.

"I was just here to check up on Arthur for my brother, my presence here is no longer needed." She leaves the room, closing the doors behind her.

My entire family looked at me in shock, "why didn't you tell us you were friends with the royal family?!" My sister asks.

"I thought it was obvious enough when Curtis came over to your birthday party."

"He was at my party?!" No! Now I'm so embarrassed." She covers her face with her hands thinking back to the fact she couldn't even dance.

"It's fine, he thought your dancing skills were great." I try to calm her down.

I hear through my mental connection Saya talking, 'Hey Arthur, I'm stopping by to check on your progress with the djinn mana.'

'No stop, don't come here.'

'Huh, do come there?' She teases.

'I know you heard me correctly. Do not come to my infirmary room!' I told her again.

'Ah, got it, on my way.' She says before blocking out the connection.

'Damnit! Why does she have to be like this?!'

My sister notices my pissed-off facial expression and asks, "Are you ok Arthur?"

"I'm fine," I responded.

"How long will you be in the infirmary for?" My mom asks.

"I'll probably be able to leave later this week," I answer, although it will take me a few months to finish the 'false' assimilation. I should be safe enough to be moving around by the end of the week.

Soon enough, the door opens up and Saya walks in, my family confusingly looks at her, then back at me. Looking at my sister's face he is probably thinking something along the lines of 'another one?'

"Oh, hello," Saya says to my family. She smiles as she realizes this was the reason I didn't want her to come here.

"Are you also one of Arthur's friends?" My mother asks.

"Yes, my name is Saya, it is a pleasure to meet you all." She says while smiling.

"It's always great to meet Arthur's friends." My father says.

She looks at me and tells me, "I'm here because your roommate wanted me to give you the notes you are missing for your classes.

"Oh, thanks. Tell Feyfey I appreciate that he did this."

"I also got the stuff you missed for your runes class. The teacher is rather sad that he already lost one of the two of his students." She goes on to say.

Meanwhile the entire time Saya is talking to me my family stands confused.

After she leaves my family all look at me with a sly look as if they know what's going on. "I didn't think I raised a two-timer son." My father says.

"You didn't, I'm not dating anyone, nor are they interested in me."

My family eventually left and I went back to training with my sword. This time feeling like I could take more of the power I sped up the process.

About a week passed while training with my sword. Today was the last day I needed to stay in the infirmary room. I began training with the sword. Thankfully this process still allows me to purify my mana core, I was now approaching breaking through into the silver stage.

I hear the doors to the room open and break concentration to check who it is.

"Still training away with that ridiculous theory of yours?" Saya says.

"Yup, I think I'm approaching a breakthrough," I say.

"Whatever you say," she says while rolling her eyes.

I return to flowing the sword mana through my body at the same time as purifying my mana core with it. While doing that, suddenly my light yellow core began to shatter and breakthrough into the initial silver stage. As my core began to break through the mana I was moving began to feel stronger and move faster.

I began to sense the presence of another energy besides that of mana. One more pure and powerful.

"What just happened?" I mutter to myself.

"What did you do?" Saya asks.

"I don't know, I broke through into the silver stage using the mana from the sword, and now suddenly I can sense the presence of something besides mana within my body."

"Wait, are you sensing Aether?" Saya blurted out.

"Maybe, I'm not sure. What I do know is that the second I turned silver core the mana and what I assume to be Aether from the sword is now automatically seeping into my muscles and mana core.

I get up and try to move around, my body feels as good as new without the swords mana trying to attack my body.

"I think, you doing that essentially made your mana adapt to the new mana and aether in your body, therefore your body is accepting the djinn mana and aether. But that means..." Saya trails off.

"When it comes to mana, I'm essentially that of a newborn djinn." I finished her sentence. "I planned to have the mana and now aether, seep into my muscles and body making me in a way part djinn. At least physically."

"What your doing is incredibly risky and may make the Asuras decide to execute you," Saya tells me.

"That's only if they find out, and they will only find out if you tell them." I smile.

"What makes you think I won't, I was assigned here to decide if you were a threat or not. This very well makes you a potential threat." Saya remarks.

"But I know you won't, you had told me you decided I could be of use to the Asuras. Meaning they have some plan for me." I told her.

I continue speaking, "I have a knack for knowing when people are trying to use me. Consider it a learned skill." I think back to my past life, "You don't plan to turn me into the Asuras, you have other plans for me. So what are they?" I ask.

"You really think now that you have just a fraction of the power of the djinn with that little sword and rune you have there makes you able to threaten me?" Saya asks mockingly.

"I never tried to threaten you. I'm just simply asking, what are you trying to do with me?"
