Wanting to hide her from the world

I went out hunting with Kevin as Evelyn was sleeping and Amber was with her.

Today is my turn to stay with her. I am planning to ask mother to let Eve sleep with her today. Amber and I haven't got much time together after Eve's birth and I am missing my Amber.

I entered the room and Eve was still sleeping but Amber wasn't there with her. Where did she go ? I told her not to leave Eve alone.

Though she is well secured in the compound of the pillows, she can break it easily and fall on the ground. Amber knows she doesn't sleep in one place !

I went to Eve and covered her with her sheet and sat beside her, waiting for her to wake up and play with me.

It's been a few months since we have got her with us and thanks to her super fast-growing speed, she have started talking already !

And her voice is like a sweet melody when we listen to her talk, we want everyone in the house to shut up and let only her talk.

Earlier we feared of the speed with which she is growing as, we didn't know she was an immortal too. But now, it makes us all happy to know that she will be with us for an eternity and she is growing fast so, we don't have to wait for her to grow up for so many years !

Amber isn't happy about it though. She feels she is gonna miss watching her kid grow at the natural speed and enjoy parenting and grow as parents along with her.

She thinks, Evelyn is growing up but we aren't. Because her speed and our speed of growth don't match and so, we are lagging with our growth ! Well, she isn't completely wrong though !

" Hey, you are back already ? "

Amber said entering the room with a steaming bowl in her hands.

" Where were you ? Why did you left her alone ? If, you were gonna go cook why didn't you asked mother or Steve or Daniel for that instance ? You know darling she doesn't sleeps in place what if she had fallen from the bed ? "

I almost scolded her but made sure not to raise my voice at her.

I know she too loves her more than anything and cares for her and she doesn't wish ill for her.

" Are you done or wanna say anything more ? "

Amber said placing the bowl on the table.

" Amber ! "

I said.

" Darling, I know she doesn't sleeps in one place and that's why I put the pillows around her so that, she won't turn and fall in sleep. "

Amber said softly.

" But darling you know, she can't be contained by the pillows. She can always roll over them or along with them ! She is very strong ! "

I said softy.

" My dear, you know she strong. If she'd had fallen on the ground, I will tell you what would have happened. She would have woke up in the hall rubbing her eyes in confusion of where she is ! "

Amber said and I didn't know whether to laugh or get angry at her !

But she is right. Once Evelyn fell from the couch hard and nothing happened to her but the floor was damaged by the impact of it.

" Come on, don't act grumpy. I am sorry, I will not leave her alone again. "

Amber said grabbing my ears.

" If you are asking for forgiveness, it should be your ears not mine ! "

I said laughing at her cuteness.

She chuckled and pulled them even harder.

" Hey ! Let go of them. "

I said and my voice woke Eve up.

" Mom ! "

Eve said rubbing her eyes.

" Yes, sugar ? "

Amber said cuddling her in her arms.

" Where were you ? "

Eve asked wrapping her arms around Amber.

" Oh, pumpkin I went to get you some soup. I am sorry, I left you alone. Were you scared, baby ? "

Amber asked caressing her head.

" No I wasn't. I just didn't liked being alone. "

Eve said yawning.

" I am so sorry sweetie, I promise I won't do it again. I know you are very brave girl just like your Dads and so, I was sure you won't be scared. "

Amber said kissing her head.

" Ethan Dad ? "

Eve called for me.

" Yes, my little witch. "

I said softy.

" Did you bring me chocolates I asked for ? "

Eve asked her eyes still closed.

" Oh, I forgot my dear. Let's do one thing, I will take you to the supermarket and you can choose whatever you want, how does that sounds ? "

I said caressing her back.

Listening to words she let Amber go and sat up on the bed her eyes wide open.

I know she likes to go to the supermarket and choose things she likes and push the trolley and get compliments from the other customers for how strong she is.

" Really ? You will take me there ? "

Eve asked chiming.

" Eve, you know you are not like the other people who come to the supermarket and so... "

" She doesn't attracts anyone's attention, right honey ? "

I said cutting Amber off.

Amber is concerned about Eve being different from others and what will happen when the world will discover her existence ?

She is just afraid Eve shouldn't attract attention from the people as, she is so little right now and can't control her emotions and her magic. Amber is scared about Eve loosing her control in public.

" Ethan ! "

Amber got mad at me for taking her side and overlooking the possibility of her exposure.

" I promise Mom, I won't do anything stupid and what granny haven't taught me. "

Eve said cupping Amber's face.

Such a considerate child she is. She is like this from her birth. She thinks of everyone and considers their feelings affecting because of her actions or someone else's actions, for that matter.

" I know pumpkin you don't do anything granny prohibited you from doing in public but what if, some expected thing happens and you couldn't control your emotions ? "

Amber said pulling her into her arms protectively.

" Let it be, we will talk about it later. Let my munchkin have her soup first, right baby ? "
