Convincing her

Amber is way too worried about Evelyn's public appearance. She thinks Eve is way too young for her public appearances as she haven't understood all the emotions and can't control it completely and so, she is scared to let us take Eve out and so, she doesn't let us take her out without mother's presence.

Well, she isn't wrong though. One day we were playing in the garden and Daniel teased her because she couldn't catch him. She got so angry, the wet grass around us got set on fire because she couldn't control her anger and mother had to use her magic to put down the fire and calm her down.

And from that day Amber is so scared to let her anywhere out of the house without mother. She is scared after that incident that if, Eve couldn't control her emotions and burst out in public it's gonna attract the attention of people around us towards her and there can be some threat to her life.

Amber thinks Eve is the only baby we can ever have and so, she is attached to her way too much and that has made her overprotective towards her.

We too are overprotective towards her but she is one step ahead of us. We have faced the attention and so, we are used to it. But Amber hasn't and that have her heart uneasy about the unwanted attention of the world towards Eve.

She knows Eve is very strong and powerful yet, the mother in her doesn't want any kind of threat to her kid and I don't blame her for that.

Today is Ethan's turn to be with Amber and Eve. I just hate these days when I have to let Amber and Eve be with Ethan. I know what happens behind the closed door for two reasons. One, I have super clear hearing ability and second, I too spend time with her !

It's our natural instinct to hold on to what is ours and claim it forever. But Amber being tangled between us, we can't achieve that forever.

She is my Luna and his mate as well so, we are possessive for her. I don't want anyone else's smell on her and so doesn't he !

So, it's obvious that, taking someone else's smell off her is all what we care about; doesn't matter the other is our own brother !

We are on good terms unless Amber or Evelyn is involved in the matter. We don't want to kill our brother for teasing. We get aggressive if, the other gets touchy with them; especially Amber !

Because we have come to peace for Evelyn as, there are 3 other people wanting to spend time with her as well !

Ethan and I returned home after hunting and I smelled a different smell and unknown smell on the house. I got alert. I was about to scan the entire house for the source but Steve saved my efforts.

" Can you smell a different smell in the house today Steve ? "

I asked him.

" Of course, only you don't have super strong smell sense. "

Steve said rolling his eyes.

" Will you stop being sarcastic and answer the damn question ? Amber and Evelyn's life can be in danger ! "

I said fade up his stupid sarcasm at the wrong time.

" There's no danger to your daughter's life anyways and the person can't be danger to Amber ever. "

Steve said.

" Stop playing riddles, will you ? "

I said irritated.

" Daniel brought Suzy home. Her boyfriend have beaten her real bad. It's her smell. "

Steve told me.

Suzy ?

Oh right, Amber's best friend from her office. I just know her by her name I haven't mate her before and so, I couldn't recognize her smell.

" She have an abusive boyfriend ? "

I asked.

" Uh-uh. She HAD an abusive boyfriend. "

Steve said.

" What's that supposed to mean ? "

I asked.

" Daniel compelled him to cut his wrist and bleed till he dies ! "

Steve said shrugging.

" What the hell ? Since when your brother started believing in charity ? Why does he care ? "

I asked surprised by Daniel's action.

" Why can't you and your Luna ask anything to the person incharge ? "

Steve said grimacing and left.

What's wrong with him ? What did I asked him to make piss him off ?

Let it be, I don't care what the hell they do in their lives. But I hope she haven't shifted here for good. It's my home not some charity mansion !

" Kevin Dad ! "

Evelyn came running to me and I picked her up in my arms.

" Hello, sugar. You are up already ? "

I said kissing her head.

" Yup. And as a penalty for not bringing my chocolates Ethan Dad agreed to take me to the supermarket and let me have whatever I want... "

Evelyn said in her chiming voice.

" But ? "

I asked guessing from her tone that, there was a but there.

" Mom denied it ! "

Evelyn said pouting sadly.

" Oh munchkin, don't be sad. I will take you... "

" No you won't ! "

Amber said before I finished.

" I am not done talking love. I will take her to the supermarket along with mother. Is that alright with you ? "

I asked raising my eyebrows.

Amber wasn't happy with my decision.

" Sugar, why don't you go play with uncle Steve ? "

I said.

" Uncle Steve ? "

Evelyn called for him.

He came immediately. He was almost mad at me just a few moments ago and now he is smiling bright at her.

" Yes, princess ? "

Steve said smiling gently at her.

" Let's go play in the garden. "

Eve said softly.

" Of course my dear. Let's go. "

Steve said taking her in his arms from mine.

" She can walk on her own, it's been a month or two she started doing it ! "

Amber said to Steve implying that, he should let her walk as she can.

" Oh come on Amber, we have very less time with us when we can carry her in our arms. Soon, she will grow up into an adult and then, we won't be able to carry her.

So, let us enjoy the moment when we can. Then, we will be left only with regrets that, we didn't cherished her childhood when we had the time ! "

Steve said kissing her head gently and Eve wrapped her arms around his neck.

" I love you uncle Steve. "

Evelyn said kissing his cheek.

" Oh, darling I love you too. "

Steve said and took her out in the garden to play.

" He is right Amber. We should cherish her childhood when can. We shouldn't regret it tomorrow. And when we know she will be little tiny Eve for just a few months and then she will become an adult and then we can't act as a child along with her. "

I said wrapping my arm around her shoulder.

She rested her head on my shoulder and sighed sadly.

" It's alright love. I know you are sad as we won't be able to watch her grow for a long time and won't have the tiny little monster for a long time. But isn't it a relief that, she won't be leaving us anytime soon ? "

I said caressing her head.

Amber just nodded. I know why didn't she said anything. If, she had tried to respond her tears would have betrayed her and made her cry at the thought.

" Now, cherishing her involves letting her wherever she wants to be. You can't cage her like this, love.

If, we won't make her feel that, she can control her emotions and won't fuck up any situation outside the home and won't attract unwanted attention; she will grow up as an underconfident and shy and weak person !

Do you want the only daughter of the most dangerous Dads and fierce mother to be a coward ? Such a person who won't be able to talk to people on her own and live as a loner ? Do you want a miserable life for your child ? "

I said caressing her arms.

Though I haven't looked at her face nor she is shaking or shivering, I know she is shading tears.

I took her to the couch and Ethan got her a glass of water. She had it and we kneeled at her feet.

" I know love, you are scared for her. You don't want any troubles for her. But love, is caging her the solution ? Won't it crush her self confidence of going out in public ? Won't she will always want mother to be with her ?

Mother being with her isn't the problem but don't you want to let your daughter be an independent and confident person ?

Her weird behavior might attract the attention we don't want for her, am I wrong ? "

I said caressing her hand.

" I understand everything Kevin. Do you think I like keeping her out from the world ? Not letting her know what the outside world is like ?

But what should I do of my heart ? You didn't said anything wrong but...

I just can't ! "

Amber said crying.

" Darling, we have to let her in public little by little. We can't keep her grounded here for all of her growing time and then, push her out. It doesn't work like that and you know it !

As her parents, we must encourage her and make her feel that she can do everything she wants and not discourage her and make her insecure about her outbreak of emotions.

Mother can always keep a check on her situation but we need to let her know that she isn't someone out of the world and needs to be kept hidden !

It might turn out like, we pushed her into becoming someone unexpected and bad person who thinks, she doesn't belong here. She might misuse her powers or may be completely opposite and get depressed that this isn't a world for her !

We don't want that for our child now, do we ? "

Ethan said trying to make her understand to let Eve behave as a normal child. Because then and only then she will be able to survive in this world independently or else her insecurities might eat her out and make her go crazy.

" Ok. I will not cage her here. You can take her out but take mother with you. "

Amber said.

" Of course love. I know she isn't trained and can't control her emotions on her own. She needs mother's help now. I am just saying that, she should be confident in herself that she can handle any situation instead of getting scared that, she is gonna fuck it up ! "

I said wiping her tears.
