Sweet and warm

As he waited for Tommy to call him back with the information he had requested, Toni decided to call his sister Tana to check on her. Tana was Tangero's mother and Toni's older sister, and he hadn't spoken to her in a few days.

After a few rings, Tana picked up the phone. "Hey, Toni," she said, her voice warm and cheerful.

"Hey, Tana, how are you doing?" Toni asked, trying to sound casual.

"I'm good, thanks. How about you?" Tana replied.

"I'm fine. Listen, I was just calling to check up on you. How's everything going?"

Toni's tone shifted slightly, and Tana could hear a hint of concern in his voice. "Everything's okay, I guess. Why do you ask?"

Toni hesitated for a moment before deciding to share his suspicions with his big sis. "Well, I've been a bit worried about Kaizo lately. He's been acting suspicious, and I asked Ana to do some investigating for me. I think there might be something going on with him."

Tana gasped. "Oh, no. Do you think he's up to something?"

"I don't know," Toni admitted. "But I just wanted to make sure that you and Tangero are safe. If you notice anything strange or out of the ordinary, please let me know right away."

Say, big sis. do you happen to know anything about a key that Tangero might have?"

"A key? What kind of key?"

"I don't know, I was just curious. Maybe he mentioned something to you."

"Well, now that you mention it, I do remember him saying something about a key i found in his room once in a while. He said General Kaizo gave it to him before he went on his expedition."

"That's interesting.

Toni looked down at his desk, feeling a twinge of guilt. He had been helping his sister Tana fail Tangero in his last three exams out of five, as he didn't want him to be sent to the front lines of the war. But when it came to the last two exams, he received a mysterious letter warning him of the consequences of his malpractice.

Toni asked, "Hey, sis, who helped you with the last two exams? You didn't tell me. And how did Tangero get the special base librarian post?"

Tana replied, "Well, after you told me about how you could get in serious trouble for helping me do the last 3, I decided to go to the base and find out who else could help. I met Kaizo talking to Tangero and patting him on the back. As Tangero left, I told him his dad was waiting for him in the car."

Kaizo looked me straight in the eyes and said, "You have a brilliant son. Why do you fail him so much?" I started crying, telling him he's my only son and I don't want to lose him. He told me he understood my worries and would help me with my problems. Tangero needs to wait for 2 years to get the library job, so he will be safer there and learn all he wants."

After Tana finished her reply, Toni's face turned pale with shock. He couldn't believe that Kaizo knew he was involved in Tangero's academic struggles. Toni stuttered, "Wait, how did he know about that?"
