Preparations

They walked into the conference hall and there sat Sir McCormick. He saw Kain and immediately stood up and walked up to him. They exchanged handshakes and they both sat down while Esmeralda stood behind Kain.

"Hey, I believe you are Kain's PA." McCormick said. "Take a sit instead of standing" he added. Esmeralda nodded and pulled a chair beside Kain to sit on.

"It's a pretty good lady you have Kain. A perfection as a personal assistant" McCormick said and Esmeralda flushed red. Kain noticed Esmeralda blush and immediately, his beast got rode over with jealousy. He kept a straight face and looked at McCormick. 

"So, McCormick, what brings you here?" He asked.

"Well, I received a memo that was supposed meant to come, if I am not mistaken in a month's time" McCormick said.

"Well, you are right. The surveyor sent a message that the land was perfectly ready for our inspection so I thought why waste time when we could just get it over with." Kain replied.
