Bonding up

Kain carried Esmeralda into her room and placed her on the bed. He had fed her, washed the dishes and kept the kitchen in tip top order.

"Damn, that food was a blast. Where did you learn to cook like that?" Esmeralda asked as Kain took her into her room. 

"Well, being the prince of Havana means having a lot of servants under your disposal, both maids and orderlies to follow you everywhere you want you to go." Kain said "But I hated being spoilt even as the prince so sometimes I would go out to the kitchen and under the supervision of the head chief I would learn to cook"

"And your parents allowed it?" 

"Nope, it was a secret among the chef and I. Not even the other domestic cooks knew that it was me because I would dress up incognito and sometimes they would order me around and I would carry out their order with delight. That's how I learnt some things I know."
