The knock on the door interrupted him. "Come in" Leon said, without the need for him to show his face Leon knew who the person was through the bond between alpha and beta and also through his scent. It was none other than Mark bringing a bunch of files.

"Alpha, I did my digging and found this" Mark said as he dropped the files on the desk.

Leon's interest was immediately piqued as he looked at the files. The picture of Kayla and her information was there.

As his eyes scanned through the files, he came to a page where there was something that caught his attention.

"Her father was killed by claws, with the look of the injury, I done by a werewolf. What was the cause?" Leon asked.

Mark had an apologetic face "I am sorry alpha, I encountered some disturbances when I was doing my digging" Mark reported.

"Disturbances?" Let's ask with a slight frown. Mark was his best man when it came to finding people's identities.

"It seems as if there is a hidden force which covers some of the details about the incident. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get through the wall. Forgive me for my incompetence" Mark said.

Leon became concerned, "Who can block his underground network? "What about her mother?" Leon asked.

"That's another problem I could not solve, it is said that she was with her husband during the incident but after the incident, she disappeared without a trace almost as if she never existed" Mark said again.

"Find out more, I want to know everything that happened" Leon said as he looked at the document.

"I finally managed to call you over," Emily said as she hugged Kayla who entered the shop.

"Woah! This place is nice" Kayla said as she looked around.

"Of course, we are in the gold level. The cheapest dish here is one million" Emily said.

Emily who is dressed in a purple shirt and a skirt with a belt together with heavy make-up matched with glass slippers makes her look like the Queen of Fashion.

"You don't have to do this," Kayla said shock evident in her eyes.

"Why not, you are my best friend, nothing is too much," Emily said as she welcomed Kayla.

"What would you like to order" A waitress came.

"Kayla place your order" Emily said as she picked up her menu.

"I am good, I just have something to tell you," Kayla said.

Looking at Kayla's unusual behaviour Emily became concerned.

"We will order later" Emily said to the waitress.

"What happened?" Emily asked after the waitress left.

"I have something to show you," Kayla said as she looked at the two bodyguards at Emily's back.

Immediately understanding her thoughts, Emily cleared her throat and said. "James, Jackson can you please excuse us," Emily said.

The two bodyguards immediately moved some distance where they couldn't hear their discussion but could easily come and protect her in case of emergency.

Jackson is a 44-year-old bodyguard who has been working with Emily's family for over a decade.

While James is a young 25-year-old young man.

"So, what do you want to show me?" Emily asks with a curious look.

Kayla slowly brought out a file which she handed to Emily from her purse.

Emily took it giving Kayla a confused look. The moment she looked at it her face turned into a frown. The bold letter which said a one-month love contract was very alarming.

"What is this?" Emily asked.

"Kayla I know you just broke up with that stupid Andrew but now you are getting into another relationship and worse this one is even a contracted one. Aren't you been desperate?" Emily asked looking at Kayla with a concerned look.

"I know, but can you read on" Kayla asked.

"Okay," Emily answers as she continues, her frown getting deeper.

"You are not allowed to request his lover, to get back every day before sunset. What the hell is this?" Emily asked with an annoyed look as she slammed the document on the table.

She looks at Kayla with a questioning gaze. "Don't tell me you have accepted the contract?" Emily said when she noticed Kayla wasn't saying anything.

"Yes, I signed it to escape the horror in my home," Kayla said with a pity eyes.

"Kayla, I know you are going through a lot. But signing this contract is more of selling yourself. Do you like him?" Emily asked.

"I don't know, but... I feel safe around him. His green eyes are like a magnet and most times I get lost staring at it" Kayla said.

Emily looked at Kayla with a shocked expression. This is the first time she has ever seen Kayla speak this way about a man before.

"Who is he?" Emily asked.

"Well..... I don't know his name yet. I just signed the contract yesterday and I thought of telling you" Kayla said with a guilty look.

"Are you serious, you don't even know his name?" Emily said with wide eyes.

"First you took on a contract, you don't know his background and you took a one-month contract to make him fall in love with you. Are you sure you want to do this?" Emily asked.

Kayla knew her decision was rash and unreasonable but there was something special about the mysterious charmer that seemed to enchant her.

"Emily, can you support me with this decision?" Kayla asked.

"I can if you want to", Emily said.

"Yes, I want to do this" Kayla replied.

"Oh my god, Kayla you are really in love with him?" Emily asked making Kayla blush.

"Tell me about him," Emily said with an inquisitive gaze. She knows Kayla's past and suffering. She will be satisfied to see Kayla smile without any worry and if this mysterious guy is the one then she will allow it.

"He is rich and handsome, not very handsome. He has this mysterious vibe around him" Kayla said describing Leon.

"All I have to say is that he is lucky to have you. If he ever hurt you just tell me, I will make him regret it" Emily said with a serious look like an overprotective mother hen.

"You have to keep it to yourself," Jackson said to James.

"Keep what to myself?" James asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I can see the way you stare at her, I am sure you have feelings for her," Jackson said as he looked at Emily.

"I see you have already found out" James said as he looked at Emily who chatted happily with Kayla.

He knew his feelings could never be reciprocated, him having feelings for his boss's daughter but for some unknown reason, his attraction towards her kept growing stronger every day driving him insane.

"Can you tell me what to do about it?" James asked.

"I know what I am about to say would be painful but you have to bury your feelings. If anyone knows about it, you will lose your job" Jackson said his attention not breaking from Emily.

James looked at Emily with a sad look. He knew what Jackson said was true but could he just accept his fate and lose the woman he loved?
