We are gathering at the living area. I can't believe what the DNA results said, I'm her daughter. I'm in shock and can't even process it in my mind.
"Is...this true? I'm dreaming, am I?" I ask in disbelief. "It's true, Kiarra," Amara answered. My knees weakened. I put my palms on my face. In my whole life, I thought my mother is dead but she is in front of me, breathing the same air as mine. I put my hands down and look at Miss Erin.
"It's okay, Kiarra. You can have your time processing it," Miss Erin- my mom said. I don't know if I should call her my Miss Erin or Mom but I find it uncomfortable and awkward. I played with my hands and bit my bottom lips to ease the awkwardness I'm feeling. "Thank you, Mi... Mo-- Miss Erin," I stuttered because I don't what to call her.
She smiled and pat my shoulder.
