Choices

    All the staircases were closed in by doors. In a hurry, I choose the first door I can see and its staircase. That particular door gave me the feeling of fragility, longing to open and follow, hence I chose it.

    *crake~boom*

    "Oh no! What is happening?" I shouted in shock, the place I was standing on started to collapse, and therefore I ran to save myself from falling,

    Without thinking I stepped into the golden stair full of thorns. Falling to the ground I thought, 'ouch that hurts'

    Then suddenly all the other staircases disappeared, oh yes it is not a room only it have a door blocking the way.

*beeb~beeb*

[Stairs have been chosen]

[Stairs of thrones activate]

    A notification popped up, following it fast Lazarus' voice filled the room again as if talking through a mic, {selena knight you have chosen your way...sigh, go ahead and open the door. good luck}

    Lazarus's voice contained a commanding with slight a pitiful tone gulp. And what's with that middle sigh... I am scared now, a lot. Am I taking the wrong path?

    Looking upwards, oh there is a door atop the stairs. I started walking towards the door using the staircase. 

'Mmm, no return then', I thought. With every step I took the previous step disappeared giving me no option except to keep moving on.

    Looking ahead there was a dark brown wooden door with few symbols on it. They looked like a spell, an ancient spell, but I really don't know a spell of what.

    The thorns hurt my feet, they made my bleed blood, but remembering the life of my brother was on the line, a fighting spirit builds up inside me after all, Alex is more important than a little pain caused by some thorns.

    'huff, huff, at least I am near', I thought while my leg's pain is intensifying. Looking at the staircase with a frown, it looks like it has more than a hundred steps, at least I have taken eight steps by now.

    'Huh, why can't I reach the door? Is it something that is missing?', while sweet was dropping profoundly I thought. even though I have moved for a long time the difference is still the same?

    stopping on one step, I pondered on what went wrong. though I have read a lot of books, none stated such a situation.

    'Maybe it needs the same trick as blot', I decided to apply the same procedures as the time for the bolt, determination built in my eyes.

    *Phone* breathing air out, closing my eyes, clearing my head of all kinds of thoughts, then said: "I am near the door and one step away from it. I'll take the next step and the door will open"

    I took that one step with closed eyes.  according to my statement; the door should be in front of me.

    still closing them I feared that if I opened my eyes everything will be gone. *beet~beet*, my heart is now beating really hard, with wobbly hands I hold the doorknob.

    "ahhh", The knob was at first cold, I started to twist it, but after a few seconds as I twisted it started to become hot, really hot, to the point that I thought I should leave it.

    but then a thought struck me 'Selena you must never leave this knob until it opens, you can do it', if I let this knob go, my life, my brothers live, and our revenge will go into a drain along with it,

    *slap*. 'you can do it sele', My inner self-consciousness slapped me, it implanted a sudden willpower inside my body, as if a lioness was there, sitting and waiting to get unleashed.

    After a few minutes of twisting the knob, the door finally opened... sigh, I opened my eyes to see a barrier that leads to a new world, a world that is too old for me!!

    Yes, it was the same place where I met Ava; even her world gave me a bitter taste. I want to kill her for getting me in this mess.

    Let's see what in store. I took a step into the barrier, on the other side, I saw someone I need to see him. 

"Alex, finally!!", I shouted in eagerness finally I can help my brother, but... is he really in need of my help?

    I saw my brother killing animals with few followers around.

    "oh, hahaha, sele come here", As he saw me he smiled brightly, then gestured with his hands, to come and sit next to his throne... I decided to go and see if he is still in his right mind.

    I ran next to him, he made me sat on the throne beside him.  A man entered holding with him a guy, dragging him disdainfully, his face was full of slap marks he was beaten badly.

    I turned to look at brother, he was beaming brightly and ordered a weird order," whip him 200 times, mmm nuh its better if you whip him to death"

    'what? am I hearing right', His words shocked me to the core; no this can't be my brother. First he kills animals and now he brutally kills a human!!!

    This is not my brother. He can't be like this, my brother is good and he will never hurt an ant!! This is an illusion it must be.....

    I gathered up all the courage I had and used that strength to stand up from that throne, huh it looked like it was sucking my energy

    "Stop this nonsense and get in your sense brother" I shouted while shooking him vigorously making the whole throne shake along. 

    He looked at me emotionally, then gestured to the guards. they came and surrounded me

    "No, stay away from me," I yelled at those guards but every guard took hold of me *whoosh* suddenly something happened which set me free from the guard.

I turned to look at my brother who was frowning so I exclaimed to assure myself, "You can't be my brother; he can never be this cruel and heartless"

     "hahaha," *clap~clap* Hearing my comment he laughed and clapped, after a few minutes he started to laugh while clutching his stomach.

    Few minutes passed while I stood there glaring at that imposter. silence He suddenly got in serious mood turning around to sit back on the throne. 

"Oh, so dear selena figure it out. Good well done", He smirked will putting one hand on his face covering one eye

    looking straight in my eyes, enchanting an unhearable words, I know what is he doing, he is trying to hypnotize me! 

    'Thanks, Dad, you always taught me how to take care of this situation', I smirked slightly, then crossed my fingers behind my back, if dad told the truth I will never be hypnotized using this trick, dunno why though. 

    'oh, it really works', I thought then decided to tease the fack brother of mine. staring at him blankly, and opened my mouth. Once he was sure I was hypnotized he looked away and moved to the fountain nearby.

    *clap*"Good job imposter, but poor you can't hypnotize me." As he reached there I clapped my hands and exclaimed with a slight smile on my face, you can take the face of my brother but can't become him hahaha. tch, better luck next time.

    "Hah I should have known that you might be powerless but you got beauty along with a manipulating brain. I might consider marrying you"

    His words made me angry and it made me feel really disgusted, I went next to him*slap*, I not only slapped him but even grabbed him by his collar.

    I shocked him till he shouted, "How long are you planning to shake me, accept the truth already?"

    looking into those fake pitiful eyes, and fake pleading gestures made me hurt, even more, it worried me more about my brother.

'brother please stay safe and don't let anyone hurt you. I hate ava for kidnapping you and sending me in this trail thingy.'

I thought before what imposter said and his words shook my core.
