First Meeting With The Clan Guardian (1)

Jason walked back in the direction of his humble abode, his mind calm despite the talk with his old man.

Suddenly his eyes lit up in surprise.

'I didn't think about it too much before.' Jason thought. 'But doesn't that mean my father can teleport? Or is he using an item or treasure?'

There was no record of Arlo ever using teleportation in the novel so it could've been a surefire way to know if something was off, maybe Jason's birth caused him to learn teleportation.

But that would have been impossible, he wasn't part of the golden generation; this was a term used to describe the children of the current generation, before them there was only magic on the elements like fire, water, wind, earth, lightning and other natural elements.

But with their coming they managed to create unnatural uses of magic, sound magic came into existence, along with shadow magic and light magic.

In their prime they created many unorthodox types of magic that were in a sense more useful than the natural elements.

Teleportation magic just happened to be a branch of it, they created Point A and connected it to Point B and were able to teleport themselves and others through the teleportation points. However, one of the points created were bound to break after two or three uses.

Arlo using teleportation magic was just a passing thought and Jason soon removed the thought from his brain, the old man was simply not part of the golden generation and as such it was certain that he used a treasure or item.

"What should be for dinner?" Jason pondered loudly, partly to disturb the guards who were on guard and partly because he just wanted to be loud.

"How about blood?" A voice suggested, the voice was like silk yet sharp like a sharpened blade.

"Nah, it's too casual." Jason dismissed the advice at once. "I was thinking more on the line of some stew with rice? Or no... I've been having that same food for a while."

"Ah!" Jason said in surprise, he had just realized that he was talking to somebody.

He turned his face in the direction of the voice, but when he saw the person his legs went weak.

Even someone like him that was a loudmouth, gave his superiors zero respect no matter the power disparity and his muscular figure was an eyesore to quite some people knew that he couldn't afford to anger such a power.

Why?

Because it was the clan guardian!

If he disrespected the elder it was because he knew they wouldn't dare to kill him for a reason as trivial as that, if he disrespected the clan patriarch he knew that there were some things that a clan head couldn't afford to do, like dirtying his hands with the blood of a dark-skinned for such a trivial reason. If an elder didn't dare to do it why would he do it?

But the clan guardian was another being by herself, she was the foundation of the clan and that meant that she didn't care about the rules.

Jason felt lucky at the moment, when the author put certain parts as fillers; like the clan guardian of the Hachiman clan making a rule that all elders had to be bald and she even killed a senior elder that dared to question her.

If he didn't know that information he would have already started his usual behavior, but he wasn't really in the mood to talk right now.

There was a mysterious force around her, her energy, it just felt... wrong! Jason had depended on nature energy since day 1 of his birth so he could at least sense nature energy.

This woman, the clan guardian's energy resembled both mana and nature energy including, something much more sinister.

Mana and nature energy weren't supposed to go together, but this creature made it work somehow.

"You're the one who's been such a hassle for the clan head, the cripple who decided that he wouldn't remain a cripple." On her lips were a slight smirk. "The one who can even use the Null eyes without mana. And because you can use such a low-end trick you dare to talk back to me?"

Jason couldn't find the words that he could use, his brain could only calculate responses that contained a hint of sarcasm and some that made him seem like a wisecrack.

So he shut up.

Her smile suddenly widened.

"Is that so? How amusing!" She purred.

Jason frowned.

'Why is it that she had to have the ability to read minds?! That means that none of his thoughts were...' At that moment Jason tried desperately to shut down his brain.

The clan guardian burst out in a brief laughter, no sane person would try such a seemingly senseless method to try and keep thoughts privacy.

Unfortunately for him once a topic was said, unless one had his mind preoccupied the brain would immediately try to recall events from said topic.

"Would you care to explain how you managed to have a strength that surpasses Zane Hachiman?"

"Pumping iron, physical training and so on." Jason replied quickly before the thought of nature energy came to mind.

The clan guardian furrowed her brows before frowning. "Do you dare lie to me? There have been humans before you that tried such barbaric acts and they haven't come close to your power."

"Maybe I'm special, I have the Hachiman blood-" Jason's words were interrupted when he felt something amiss, like a part of his body had gotten lost.

He looked to the right and noticed his arm, specifically his right arm was missing.

What was left there was nothing, literally just air.

"I don't appreciate lies." She said as she held his missing arm, not minding the blood.

"If you dare lie to me again It'll be your head." She threatened.

'I can't really say that.' Jason paused again but he noticed he was digging his grave, she was a woman of action.

If she told him she would do it she would 100% would.

"Nature Energy." He muttered.

The clan guardian heard him clearly.

"But you can't use mana, right?" She questioned.

"I can't." Jason affirmed.

Her expression darkened, the contrast making Jason wish she would just smile again.

"Are you perhaps, the illegitimate son of the pope?" She asked before bursting into a fit of laughter.

But Jason didn't find the joke funny.

"Aren't you the serious one." She said. "But that is beside the point."

"And I have something I decided to show you." She said before the view around them changed.

Jason appeared back in his home, the storage room where they left him. He had not received another maid to take care of him for a while in weeks, he sometimes wondered if they had stopped ordering them to take care of him.

"This is the second time someone has tried to break into the main clan compound, the guards are quite useless so I've had to catch the intruders." She explained.

A young man was suspended in the air, unable to move any inch or fiber of his body.

On the ground was Emily.

Jason was able to put two and two together.

In short, someone was trying to take Emily.

What was the use of such a hassle, he started regretting taking her off the streets.

Edited the chapters of the stats of the old people, realized I migh've messed up the power ranking so I had to adjust it
