Fated Fire

While resting, the two had fallen asleep. Weisheng woke up and cautiously took his blindfold off. Xiaoling was still asleep beside him. He looked up at the sky to see twinkling stars taking the moon's light, not knowing the moon stole that light from someone else. Midnight had befallen, and they hadn't found a way out. Concerned for Xiaoling's health, Weisheng shook her gently.

"Master? Wake up," He called her while shaking her. Her head slipped against the trunk and fell on his arm. He frowned in concern. Laying his hand flat on her forehead, he found out that she was running a fever. This much was obvious. Although they were sitting under a eucalyptus tree, the ferns surrounding them were enough to affect their health.

Weisheng was only safe because of his tremendous negative energy. He laid his hand flat on her forehead again, inciting concern within himself. He sighed deeply. He couldn't just sit here and watch her burn with fever.
