Within each clan, there resides a beast. The beasts have been said to each be an individual protector of each of the first founders of every territory. Without a beast to back up the territory, it can easily crumble within a days' time. This beast does not reside on our plane, but its mark is imbued upon those who have come from the direct line of the founders or those who submit loyalty to the founding line.
The founders are directly imbued with the beast's energy, and so long as the beast is capable of performing the action, the founders can use the imbued energy to do the same. That does not mean, however, that they are all-powerful beings. If the founder's body and mind cannot handle the action they are trying to perform, the energy causes an internal combustion and then very shortly after, death.
The only solution around such a tragedy happening, and preventing the founding line from ceasing to exist, is training. Strengthening the physical body to a degree above average human performance, and meditation cycles repeated daily to keep the minds clear and sharp. Takuzu excelled at the physical portion, and quickly rose to the most advanced courses. Meditation, however, was his only weakness. Every time he was to go into a meditative state, the same images from his dreams would flash into his mind and put his mental energy in a scattered state.
Takuzu had one week to make a miraculous breakthrough in his meditations, or else he would be automatically disqualified from even the entrance exam to enter the Elite Corps. Yamoto herself will be instructing the meditation exercises this week, and with that it was almost assured that he would make a breakthrough. That would be the case, however he never told his mother about his dreams. And a recurring thought kept harboring at him through the years.
Who was the man with his mother? How are they connected?
