SIX...

Cutting the head off Kar'zah and granting him his honor in death, Yusuf left his axe beside his lump of mass. Turning around to look at the surrounding orcs that had long since gone quiet..

"Is this all?" Yusuf taunted.

...

"Is this it?" Gates asked to no one, feeling disappointed.

The flower was growing at the end of the dark cave, five petals and its stem all glowing in the dark so it was not hard to miss.

"Literally the light in the dark huh" Gates joked as he picked it up and turned to leave...he wasn't really expecting much but was it really so easy?

He walked back to the opening, looking up to it and thinking finally on how he was meant to get the hell out of there...sighing he sat back on the ground, taking a closer look at the flower.

It didn't look anything like a normal flower, not that it should, but for it to be the only thing here...was absurd. Was it that it could only be grown underground or it was put there by someone else? The former was highly unlikely while the latter was where all evidence indicated.

The hold above, the size of the cave that had a dead end from behind and a dead end up ahead where the flower was found, it felt as though it created for the safe keeping of the flower...the question was why?

Shrugging, Gates tore a petal from the five petals on the flower and ate it, making a crunching sound from the texture of the petal. Soon he was enveloped in a feeling as though his insides were being filled with something...it felt like the times when you've eaten to great satisfaction, yes, that feeling.

Name: Amon Gates

Age: 12

Stats: 8

Magic: *Awaken*

Something appeared in front of his eyes, a system window, something that was always accompanied in mangas and video games... There wasn't anything like this in the novel previously, so why now?

Looking through the system window, he saw the magic text highlighted with the words Awaken, peaking his curiosity towards the change in the novels structure...

He tapped on it,

<System Notification>

Would you like to Awaken your Innate Magical Ability?

Y/N

"Huh, wouldn't that be a surprise? I thought this character was useless?" Gates wondered as he accepted.

Soon he fell to the ground as an immense pain overflooded his nerves, he was feeling as though his abdomen was being clawed at from the inside, his heart sore from pounding intensely, his eyes as though they would bust, his throat on fire...it went on and on for about half an hour.

The pain started to subside almost as quickly as it came and yet Gates remained on the ground, his breathe heavy and his mind thinking about alot of things.

"What the hell, was that?" Gates inquired as he sat up, hearing a ping like the previous times the system notification rang.

<System Notification>

The host's awakening is complete...

The host has awakened the innate ability "Magic Seal"

It's rank... "Epic"

Gates processed the newly informed information as he wondered what the hell he would do with something like this, it did not seem like an ability that enabled him to fight against another mage, so he wondered what it would be about...

<System Notification>

"Magic Seal" : This Epic ranked magical innate ability is rarer than the skill of attaining knowledge on the art of magic pentagrams and inscriptions, having reached the High-ranked mage status, the use of pentagram and inscriptions to cast spells will be needed so as to control the flow of mana for larger spells much easier. However this innate ability is much different from magic pentagram and inscriptions, it enables you to create a magical Seal that will be undetected by anyone other than yourself as it is created not by your mana but the world's mana. The Seal allows you to gain power ten times the amount of the one whom you've placed the Seal on. The number of seals you can place are endless, however you can only place seals on those weaker than you are or on the same level of magical prowess. Anyone higher than you, the Seal will not work nor form.

A wicked smile crept it's way towards the face of Gates as he looked back on the window that displayed his magic,

Magic : 50 "Magic Seal"

"Hahaha oh my, this is amazing..ten times the amount? This is too absurd...does that mean for now its just mana that can be multiplied? Or I can also use skills too?...I have to test this out, but this drawback though.. " Gates said as he remembered the text saying that he couldn't use it on those higher than he was...That would make things difficult,

"No matter, though still, how do I get out of here?" Gates said as he looked right up the hole, he could more or less remember the spell for the minor flight from the book and also from when Yusuf used it on him.

Standing straight up, he started practicing the chant as he thought he remembered, messing up in either the phrasing, the pronunciation or the words entirely....it took a couple minutes before he finally got the chant right and levitated above the ground for a few seconds before the surprise kicked in and he lost concentration.

It was then he understood the dangers of losing concentration if you were high up in the sky, it was amazing that Yusuf could talk smoothly with his even though they were flying at a certain speed.

Pushing the unnecessary thoughts to the back of his mind, Gates chanted once more, his words, phrasing and pronunciation were all right as he levitated off the ground...

It was somewhat easy for him to direct his body on how he wanted to go, as well as the mana, it just flowed smoothly as the system showed how much mana was taken every few seconds...

Hurrying himself, he floated above and through the hole, granting himself freedom at last,

"Now, to find Yusuf"
