"Now if you don't mind, I have nothing else to say to you. I will take care of my mother myself and why don't you just divorce her instead of using the excuse separate." Seo-yeon hissed but the old man was actually acknowledging the idea.
"Oh don't worry, I'll send it to her if that is what you want but Seo-yeon, consider my offer or…."
"Keep your offer to yourself. I am not returning to the Yang family." She growled.
"But you still use the surname Yang." Mr Yang walked back to his seat and sat gently.
"And I don't see how it is your business." She retorted while rolling her eyes in disgust. "I'm leaving."
"Take her back." Mr Yang said to his personal assistant who bowed before following Seo-yeon who was walking out of the hall already. "And remember Seo-yeon, a day will come when you come here, begging for me to accept you back which I would gladly do."
"It would never happen, even in your worst nightmare." Seo-yeon snorted as she walked away.
It was raining already by the time Seo-yeon walked out of the house and some maids quickly drape a cloth on her shoulders and an umbrella over her head as a guard opened the door to a Mercedes Benz for her.
She wouldn't lie that she had missed this type of care. The last time she had someone serve her was back at Do-yun's and all the maids never served her sincerely because if they did, they would have told her earlier that her husband was having an affair with her own friend. But none of them would want to lose their jobs because of her so she understands.
The car drove down the road which was already dark because of the dark clouds and the night was approaching. Seo-yeon looked out the window with her chin resting in her knuckles. She watched as the rain beat the window and rolled down. She remembered when she was younger, she used to enjoy being in the car when it was raining.
"We're here ma'am." The driver announced as the door opened and an umbrella shielded her. She dropped the cloth used to cover her in the car and she smiled at the man who covered her with the umbrella.
He led her into the hospital before taking his leave. Seo-yeon went straight to the top floor where her mother was. She hasn't been transferred to the ward and she was on oxygen.
"Her lungs were almost damaged. It's a miracle she was still alive because she had been using those drugs for quite a while and it was slowly killing her." Ge-un told her and she nodded gently. "I have to see you Seo-yeon."
Seo-yeon looked up and he nodded before leading her out of the room. "Is something wrong?"
"We would need to get some organs to replace some of and also some transplants and they would be really expensive." Ge-un said slowly, studying her expression.
"Don't worry, I'll look for a way to get money." She smiled, but the uncertainty was obvious in her smile.
"It's going to cost millions of won if not up to billions and she can still survive with some organs till about six months but after that, I can't guarantee her health." Ge-un informed and she nodded.
"Thanks Ge-un." Seo-yeon patted his shoulders before walking back into the room her mother was in. A sad expression was plastered all over her face which worried Ge-un a lot.
Why was it her? She deserved more than that. She has to deal with her son's health, and now her mother's. He was glad that her own ailment had been cured but he also worried it might come back.
Seo-yeon stood next to the bed her mother was laying on. She knew she might be listening so she held her hand which moved a bit.
"I really hope your health improves, mother. Despite all the hardship I went through mother, I finally became free to live my life. I didn't even imagine that my own father would even think of killing you. Is there something I don't know about that happened?" Seo-yeon asked but the woman laying on the bed didn't reply, thus making the lady not push on any further.
"Don't worry mother, I'll be a good daughter and take care of you. I'll do all it takes to make sure you have your good health back. I promise you mother."
Seo-yeon held her mother's hands looking at her with love. No one would ever say that she was treated badly by her mother when she was young. She still loved her mother like she was the world to her.
A drop of tears escaped Mrs Ari's eyes as she gently listened to her daughter's promise from a distance. She regretted all she had done to her. Accusing her wrongly, beating her up, punishing her and many more. She wished she could go back in time to fix her mistakes but she would have to wait till she gets better to make it up to her.
"Yoon-suh, please keep an eye on her. I need to take care of some things." Seo-yeon left her mother's hands and picked her phone bag before walking out of the hospital room.
Seo-yeon walked to the parking lot in a hurry and she didn't know when she bumped into someone. She looked up and saw the man just stepped out of the car parked next to hers. He looks pretty rich and Seo-yeon wondered what he was doing here.
Although she couldn't see his face due to the shades and face cap he wore.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't see you there." Seo-yeon apologized before opening the door to her car and driving off.
Han who stood on the other side of the car was surprised that Ho-jin didn't push the matter, he just let her go.
"Ge-un, who is she?" Ho-jin asked Ge-un as soon as he entered Ge-un's office and Ge-un looked at Ho-jin confused.
"Who?" Ge-un asked.
"Check the footage. A woman with brown hair…." Ho-jin paused.
"Hmmm." Ge-un stood up and phoned the security guy to ask who it was that left the hospital a few minutes ago.
"That's my girl's best friend, Seo-yeon and she's the mother of the boy you paid for his bills." Ge-un replied, sitting down to face his work.
"Mother?"
