CHAPTER 4:The Answer to the last words

"Thank you! very much for saving my sister ,I'll forever be thankful " Nathan said approaching the rescuer. "She's your sister? All I can say now is to pray kid because her wound is to severe for a little girl like herself " the rescuer said running back to help more people . "Thank you God, thank you so much for hearing me " Nathan mumbled underneath his breadth feeling a sense of calming joy bubbling up within him , temporarily forgetting about her wound . He waited anxiously for hours expecting good news and finally reunite with his sister. A doctor came out of the emergency unit as a crowd of people bombarded him with questions and pleas concerning their family members. "Who is the relative of the little girl who just came in!" The doctor cried out ignoring the people around him . "I'm here! I'm her brother " Nathan responded drawing close to the doctor . "You are her brother right ? Where are your parents or guardians? "The doctor asked which changed the emotional state of Nathan as he stared at the ground with a lost and sad expression. "I don't know " Nathan responded . The doctor saw the complicated look on Nathan's face and decided not to dwell on the matter further . "How should I say this , your sister has lost quite a lot of blood and the hospital is currently out of stock . We need a donor who's willing to donate blood for her. Her blood type is O negative which is quite difficult to find a donor " " can you check to see if I'm also O negative ?" Nathan asked right after the doctor finished. In most cases , people with O negative don't appear twice in a particular filial generation as in a family. The chances of you being O negative is less than ten percent " the doctor continued. "Where do you think I can get a donor doctor? " " I really don't know kid but try asking for help maybe there might be a good Samaritan willing to help you "the doctor added leaving Nathan to maneuver his own way to help Andy stay alive. "What am I going to do , I don't even know where to start" Nathan said biting his lips in frustration whilst running his hand through his hair ." I've got to be strong for Andy , she needs me the most at this time " Nathan said to himself building some courage to start his search . He started with anyone he saw and pleaded with them to help him . After a whole day of no results he returned to the emergency unit to ask the doctor of Andy's situation . "Kid we have to work fast , she isn't getting any better plus her wounds has been exposed to infections and without enough blood within her , we can't perform the surgery to help her with the infections. It can kill her if we do " the doctor said summarising Andy's situation to Nathan. "Doctor can't you help me with the search , I've been asking and pleading all day but I.....just c..can't find anyone" Nathan said as tears fell from his eyes. "Please doc don't let my sister ... I wouldn't know what to do , please " Nathan continued shedding more tears . "Look here kid, I'm trying ok but there are just to many victims and very small medical personnel. All our resources are done, we are all literally standing on a thin rope cause the hospital doesn't know how to help anymore and all that's left standing is the medical personnel. Trust me kid I've been really trying but you also have to try harder , push harder because you are all she has right now and if you decided to give up who is there for her now. I will do what ever I can to help your sister live but her life is depending on you now " the doctor mutted wiping the tears off Nathan's face. Nathan stared at him in admiration for his encouraging words . His eyes shone with new found courage and zeal as he sat out to continue his search . He searched from corridor to corridor looking for a good samaritan to help him save sister. As he was running , he bumped into someone" i'm so sorry" he said but immediately realize that the person he bumped into was the captain." Kiddo, I've been looking everywhere for you, the ship leaves tonight so are you coming with us or not ?" the captain asked "I've found my sister captain , but she's in a dire condition . She needs blood and I've been searching for almost two days now and it seems that no one is willing to help me " Nathan announced to the captain with worry and anxiety written all over his face . "Blood? What is her blood type ?" The captain asked "O negative "Nathan replied which surprised the captain cause their encounter was a miraculous coincidence. "Well I'm also O negative " the captain said which stopped Nathan's breadth for a second before realization dawned him " captain please help me! i need you,you can save my sister please "Nathan Cried Out. " okay, okay let's go now shall we" the captain replied as Nathan dragged him towards the emergency units." Doctor! Dr! I have someone can you please carry out to the surgery as soon as possible" Nathan said approaching the emergency unit . The doctor looked sad when he saw Nathan and Told him to enter the emergency unit. "What is going on doctor, won't you perform the surgery? "Nathan asked. The doctor inhaled slowly" your sister wants to see you" he said leading Nathan to Andy's bed." Doctor why would Andy meet me at this crucial moment? " Nathan asked but the doctor didn't reply and just continued leading him to Andy's bed. " here she is " the doctor said leaving their room to give them some privacy. " Andy, Andy you are awake? It's your big brother can you hear me? " Nathan said trying to wake the sleeping Andy. Nathan felt extremely sad seeing Andy in such situation. Her skin was very pale and looked fragile like she could wither away anytime soon *cough *cough*" Big Brother is that you? "" Andy!? You are awake? Yes it's your Big Brother. You don't know how happy I am to see you" Nathan replied holding Andy's hand so close, afraid that with one slip, he would lose her" Big Brother*cough*cough I know I lived a short life but I feel like it was all worth it. I got a caring mother and a big brother that loves me endlessly. I just wish we could have lived longer together but destiny is cruel isn't it? I just remembered something funny, remember when you tried to steal more cake from the kitchen and Mommy caught you but you try to put the blame on the cat and the cat meowed lazily and Drew mom's attention towards the cake behind you surprising all of us. It was so funny mother even laughed so hard". Andy said chuckling silently as Nathan smiled sadly." I see mom in a very beautiful white floral dress waiting for me in a pretty garden, the purest have ever seen. She says is going to be alright and that we'll always be with you no matter where you are". Andy said in a very fable voice as she stared tenderly at Nathan. " why are you talking like this? I.....ehh...em what do you mean, you are going to be alright nothing will happen to you right doctor?" Nathan asked as he turned towards the doctor but saw the disappointed and sad look on his face. That is when he realized that destiny has never been fair to him and and the cruelty of reality Dawned him awake.

He chuckled sadly as he looked at Andy with teary eyes" why? Please don't go, I will do anything but please don't leave me lonely "he said as tears rilled his eyes flowing endlessly. "I won't, neither will mother we'll always be here for you ,remember that "Andy said moving her hand towards Nathan's, comforting him. You are so smart , you always know what to say at the right time my brilliant little sister "Nathan said as he leaned his forehead gently on Andy's as they both savoured their moments together . Andy breathed in hard and exhaled slowly as her heart stopped racing and her warm hands felt lifeless and cold . "I love you more" Nathan responded recalling the last words Andy said before the raging water swept them.
