Chapter 8

"Wait Miss Selena you can't go in there"

Selena didn't listen to the police officer and just pushed him aside before making her way to the badly burnt body of her son that laid still on the floor

She turned to the officer who had tried to stop her from entering

"Officer did you find anything"

The man shook his head and had a solemn expression on his face.

"I'm sorry for your loss ma'am"

She gritted her teeth in anger. How dare he? How dare he hurt her little angel

"Where's the reporter who was with him"

"The reporter had been rushed to the hospital ma'am he had some burns. He's currently been given anaesthetic and opium for his pain"

"Meaning?"

"He's most certainly asleep and won't be awake for a while"

Damn it! why was everything going horribly wrong today

"Make sure to find some clues even if it kills you I'll be leaving to meet Adron, he ought to know something"

"Yes ma'am"

"System take me to the holy temple"

And with a flash she found herself inside the holy temple but something was wrong. Normally when a saint asks to be taken to the holy temple they are brought to the meeting room, so why was she outside the room

"What the hell?"

Whatever maybe the system failed to understand her orders properly

"I wouldn't do that if I were you"

Urgh she knew that high pitched voice

"And what do you want Claudia?"

Claudia, who was a fellow saint of hers despite being only 13 giggled before skipping over to her

"Adron sent me here"

"And where is he currently?"

"He's in the meeting room with all the other saints"

Wait. Were they having a meeting without her? No, that couldn't be right

"If you're wondering why you aren't there with the others it's actually quite simple"

Claudia's smile turned into a mocking smirk as she relayed Adron's message to the fallen saintess before her

"It's because you're not allowed to enter till you clean up your messes, Adron's orders"

"What do you mean by I can't enter!?"

"I'm sorry Lena but adron said you aren't allowed in here till you clean up your messes, your son did spill a lot of unwanted beans you know"

Selena glared at the child in front of her. She was the saint of the goddess athena, how dare they treat her like this

"Adron is still in there right? Tell him that I want to speak with him"

"Nope, no can do lady, adron says he doesn't want to see you till you fix everything up"

"I wasn't asking Claudia tell me where he is or else"

She summoned her spear and got into a fighting stance. She had to meet that all knowing bastard to know who killed her son and she would meet him even if it means killing her fellow saintess

"Are you sure you want to do this? You might get hurt"

Selena scoffed at that. Her hurt? This child would be lucky to walk away with her life.

"Fine you asked for it "

She flicked her wrist upwards and a sand golem formed before their eyes.

"You know Lena you're always talking about how you're the saint of Athena so you deserve respect but compared to Seth we all know Athena is weak"

"My god is weak? Have you finally gone crazy? We all know Athena would be able to put down your fallen god any time, any day."

"Seth is not a fallen god!"

The golem made his move, raising it's fist to try and crush her but due to its mass it was slower than expected so she jumped on the hand and threw her spear at the head of the sand golem adding a little bit of magic so it exploded upon contact and the headless body fell to the ground sending a wave of sand flying in different directions

"Is that the best you have?"

Claudia just smiled. Why was she smiling? Did she have something up her sleeves? Whatever it was Selena didn't wait to think about it as she rushed forward to attack Claudia. If her head was removed from her body, whatever trick she had would be useless.

She called her spear back before throwing it aiming for Claudia's head but a wall of sand stopped it before it could reach

"Oh Selena you should know that unless you have water or fire sand is basically indestructible"

"What?"

A hand shot out from the crumbled sand golem, grabbing her torso

"W what!? What is this?"

"You know for someone who called my god a fallen god you aren't doing to hot either"

Her red eyes gleamed in humour as she watched Selena try to get out of the crushing grip of the Golem but each wiggle she made only made the grip tighter until she felt like her rib cage would break under the pressure and her lungs would burst

"Oh and what do we have here"

Selena couldn't see who had walked into the room due to her spotting vision but she knew who it was by the fake sweetness that dripped with every word he said. Adron

"Celestial saints fighting between themselves? As if the issue with Selena wasn't enough"

"Adron! It isn't what it looks like I swear! Selena was being stubborn and-

"I don't think I asked for your explanation Claudia"

Claudia immediately looked down, her hand trembled as she clenched her dress pretending not to feel the force of Adron's glare on her

He continued to glare at her before putting on another of his fake smiles and turned his full attention to the woman who was slowly losing consciousness in the Golem's hand

"Now where was I? Ah I remember, Selena"

His smile faded as fast as it was put on

"Didn't my message get to you? I thought I told Claudia to tell you that you aren't allowed here till you clean up your messes"

He received no reply of course as the golem still had his crushing grip around her torso squeezing the breath out of her lungs

"Claudia put her down it's like I'm talking to a dead person at this point"

With a snap of her fingers the sand golem dispersed crumbling on the floor to form a heap of sand which Selena landed on.

As soon as she was released, she began to take heavy breaths as if she was replacing the ones she lost. Who cares if she inhaled sand along with it, her lungs were almost crushed goddamn it!

"Great now you're responsive, so tell me Selena how you plan to fix this mess"

Selena glared at him probably wishing harm upon him but she knows her place she wouldn't do anything stupid around him

"You know what let's all have a talk inside"

"I thought I wasn't 'allowed inside' "

Adron smiled at her obvious mockery while Claudia sucked in a sharp breath

"Well I've changed my mind. So, shall we go in?"
