And while I was thinking about all of that stuff in my head. I didn't notice that someone was talking to me. That's until Risa raised her voice a bit for me to snap at the real world and to listen to what she was saying.
"So what's your name? Like I don't think you have told us that yet..." Asked Risa.
"Ah! Sorry for not introducing myself first, It's Eizo, and yeah, I hope that we all can get along well." I said that.
"It's fine. It's understandable as you're the newcomer here, so we're glad to have you here." Selestra said.
"Well, since we're all introduced. Why don't we have a little celebration for the newcomer." Aria said that as she looked quite happy.
I couldn't help but smile a bit at her idea. Well, at least there's nothing wrong with having a little celebration.
"I agree. Why not?" Kaido said, "But after I show him his room and give him a tour around the place."
"I guess we could have that. In the meantime, we'll prepare the food and everything," Risa said.
"Yeah, let's go and tell the rest to start preparing the celebration," Zarda said as he and the rest walked away.
Well, it seems that they're all a happy bunch. To have a celebration party just for me, I feel a bit embarrassed about it. But I guess it's something to celebrate when I think about it.
I mean I am the first to join the Builder Faction after the faction was established quite a long time ago.
I guess I made the right choice on joining the Builder faction, I feel that even for a slight. Like I doubt that I would get a warm welcome if I joined another faction.
Though that itself isn't something necessary, I mean why would they celebrate that? Like other factions, they have countless people joining every day.
But in the end, the reason why I feel like I made the right decision to join. Was because of how nostalgic the environment is in this place. It gives me the vibe of when I am back at my home, with my family.
I don't know about the other faction, how they make me feel. But I could be certain that when I am choosing which faction I should join. The way that it made me feel was similar to that when you are about to look for a job. And all you have is to do the job to survive, being on your own.
"Alright then, shall we go?" Kaido said to me.
I was so immersed in my thoughts that I barely heard what Kaido was saying to me. I could just hear the last remaining sentence.
"Oh, sure."
"Okay, then follow me. And let me show you around the place, and later we'll go to your room."
With that, we left the hallway and started walking around the building.
The hallway wasn't that wide, but the ceiling was a bit higher. Which makes me wonder if it's meant for the tall ones.
I'm not exactly tall, but not short either. My height is about 5 feet and 6 inches, and Kaido is about 5 inches taller than me. And my realization hit me as it's probably because of Zarda, I mean he's a lizardman and his height is above average.
As we kept walking around, I saw some doors with numbers on them. I could take a guess and assume that's where the room is located.
"This is the 3rd floor, and there's a total of 5 floors. Each of them has a lot of rooms, and most of them are occupied by the rest of the members." Kaido explained to me.
"The first floor is just the hallway and where the kitchen, and store room is. The second floor is where the girl's rooms are, and the 3rd floor is where the men's room is located." Kaido said that as he continued walking until he stopped in front of a certain room.
"This is where you're going to stay." He said that, and then he opened the door.
It's a normal-sized room. There's a bed, a desk and a chair, a lamp, and a window. Nothing really special or unique about the room, though the window was quite surprising.
But to be honest, I wouldn't have expected much, I mean this is a base with basic necessities provided. And it's not like you can get luxury here.
"Is this room fine for you?" Kaido asked me that question.
Did Kaido realize my reaction and that's why he asked me that question? It's not a bad room, to be honest, I don't have much expectation and it's not like I wanted a grand room. It's just there's nothing to react to as it's just a normal room.
Maybe Kaido misinterpreted my mundane expression the moment when he showed me the room.
"Ahh, it's fine. This is all that I need. Don't worry about me."
"Okay then, if you need anything. Just go knock at their door and you should be able to find the others to help you."
"I'll keep that in mind," I said.
"Alright, and with this, I'll take my leave as I think I would want to help with the celebration party. While you should take a rest and get accustomed to your new room." Kaido said that when he was just about to leave.
I decided to ask him about the 4th floor and the 5th floor, as to what it used for. And I was pretty sure that the 4th floor was for the leader and his private space. While the 5th floor was where his important belongings and stuff were. I mean he's the leader of the Builder faction after all.
"Before you leave, may I ask, what are the 4th and 5th floors for?"
"Ah, the 4th is where the meeting room is, and the 5th is where we stored some of our treasures," Kaido said as he turned his head and faced me.
"Treasures?"
"You'll understand later, but for now. You should get some rest and I will call you when we are about to start the celebration."
"Okay then, thanks."
"You're welcome."
With that, he left the room and closed the door behind him. Leaving me alone inside this new room of mine.
Alright, I guess I should get some rest. Though it's not like I'm going to sleep or anything, and, it's not like I can even sleep right now. I mean I am tired but sleeping isn't something I want to do now. Like I don't want to wake up all groggy when we are about to celebrate. Surely would ruin the mood.
Maybe it's best to check my system first.
With that in mind, I decided to open my status screen.
(Eizo Ryo)- Human `Level 42

─ FOCUS ON MULTIPLIER: 2
There it is, the familiar screen. But I do notice something, that I did gain a level. Because if I recall correctly, I was on level 41 before.
Erina told me that we are disconnected from the main system as we are deleted characters. Thus all sorts of game mechanics, like the leveling system ain't working anymore.
Making us need to rely on the keycards to keep track of our level and stats. All of our previous stats are retained but we all need to start back at level 1. Because while the keycards can recognize our previous stats, they couldn't do the same with our level.
Thus requiring us to restart from level 1 altogether.
To be honest, I don't have any idea why it couldn't track our previous level while it read our current stats. It doesn't make any sense but in the end, it's not my problem at all.
My main focus was to learn and know the reason why I am stuck in this Out of Boundary City in the first place. I am aware that I already accepted my fate but I am still trying to search for the answer. Because my situation isn't the same as these deleted characters.
I could still access a lot of things from the game, besides several features that allow me to connect to other players. Also things like market, and game support.
In the end, I do not wish to be stuck in this place. I still have my real-life…
That's why, I will keep on living in this place while searching for the answer that I need. If I can't… then at least I have tried my best to do so.
It does make me realize something, that maybe I shouldn't conceal this fact. Because hiding it while trying to search for an answer would just complicate the whole thing.
I guess I should talk with Kaido about it, I mean he did exist before the time this city was built.
