<Luna>
I paced around my room. I checked the door and saw that the guards were still there. I knew they'd still be there. But on the slim chance that they'd leave for lunch break...Nah that wouldn't happen since father would kill them if they so much as blink on the job.
You run away ONCE and you never hear the end of it.
I leaned back against the door. All I wanted was some freedom from this place. But that's never going to happen if fathers plan succeeds.
Closing my eyes, I picture Estrella's face again. The only thing keeping me sane.
I wish I could tell her what's going on. I wish I could hold her or at least be near her. But that will never happen.
One of the guards knock on the door and I open it.
"Your father wants to talk to you" is all he said and faced forward again.
I step out of my room and make my way to fathers room. This is the only time when I am allowed to walk freely. Or...as freely as I can be.
I knock on his door and wait for him to answer.
"Enter"
Walking into the room, I am hit with the scent of perfume but thankfully only father was in the room.
"You wanted to speak to me?" I asked
"Yes. In two days, you will marry that boy and become the future queen. After that old hag croaks, you will have full reign on the newly combined kingdom. Of course, I will tell you what to do and what laws should be made and all that. You are much to young and stupid to make these sorts of decisions" He said from behind his desk as he raised his drink up to his mouth.
"What about Cielo? He will be the next king" I asked
"That boy? He looks and acts more like a girl! That's no man!" He laughed out aloud
"Is this all you wanted to talk about?" I asked
He stared at me as if he could read my thoughts and emotions clear as day.
"I just wanted to remind you not to do anything stupid on the day of the wedding and after. You know what will happen if you don't listen" He said
Chills ran down my spine and I nodded instantly.
"Good. You may leave."
I turned but before I made it out the door. Father stops me. "By the way, how is your sister doing?"
"She is doing well" I replied. Hopefully.
He didn't say anything so I left.
My father hated Abigail ever since she was born. Vanessa is the name she gave to herself a few days before she was banished from the castle.
We looked nothing alike so people are often suprised we are related by blood.
While I have pink hair paired with green eyes, Vanessa had dark black hair that shines red in the light paired with blue eyes. I looked more like father than Vanessa did who looks like mothers twin.
Speaking of mother. She passed by me on the way to fathers bedroom. Even though everyone knows that father is a scumbag, they still need to keep their appearances as king and queen. Every so often mother would stay in fathers room for exactly one hour then leave back to her room where she would stay until she must go back and do is all over again.
It wasn't always like this. She used to be able to stand up to father and had a gleam in her eyes. I guess she must have given up because her eyes are as dull as a dolls.
I walk back to my room where I am kept prisoner once more.
-Night-
I was falling asleep when I heard a knock on my window.
That's odd. My room is at the very top of the castle.
I get out of bed and look out the window. I see Vanessa standing at the bottom of the window behind some bushes with rocks in hand. She held one up getting ready to throw.
"Wait! Wait!" I whispered yelled
She saw me waving my hands so she put the rocks down and came closer.
"What are you doing here?" I asked "The last time we saw each other, father got angry"
"That was only because you snuck out of the castle. He doesn't care about me" she said "Anyways, I just wanted to say goodbye"
"Goodbye? What do you mean? We can still sneak around like this" I said
She shook her head. "My vision will come true sooner than later."
Ever since we were born, I have always been able to summon the shield like father but my sister has told me that she can see visions of the future. She also knows things that have happened in the past. We are not sure why this happens and we have never told our parents.
A few years ago, she had a vision that she kept secret until a few months ago. Ever since then, she has acted differently, more confident and sure of herself.
"We will never see each other after this," she said with a strong voice.
"You...you don't know that!" I yelled not caring about the guards anymore.
She smiled as tears streamed down her face. "I do. I've seen everything."
"Then I will change it!"
She shook her head but her smile never wavered "I won't let you"
And with that, she turned and left.
I yelled for her to stop and turn around but it was no use. Looking down, I know it's impossible to jump down. I turned towards the doors and yanked them open. The guards had been sleeping standing up so they were caught off guard by me and I was able to slip by.
I ran down the halls and out the castle doors but she was already gone.
The guards caught up to me and I was once again locked up in my cage.
