The next morning Artie woke up to a gentle shaking of her shoulders.
"Your Highness, we need to get you ready for the day. Merlin is here as well to help with your communication with the spirits." Artie stared, uncomprehending at Moira for a moment before she allowed Moira, and the other handmaids, to pull her into a sitting position. They shoved pillows behind her back before Moira placed another tray in front of her. It looked the same as last night, only there were a few pieces of dried fruit in the porridge this time. Numbly, Artie shoved the food into her mouth.
Moira fussed with things in the room while Artie slowly woke up. Merlin, who was watching Artie attentively, approached her side when it was clear she was actually awake.
