That Side

THIS CHAPTER IS IN JACKET'S POV OF THE LAST CHAPTER

I wait in the car a while down the road from the docks. Soon enough, I hear footsteps in the dead silence, and then rustling from the woods. Unfortunately for Sweetheart, all that hair makes it awful hard to be sneaky.

As expected she comes out in front of the car, a little ways away, and makes a bolt for it. I wait for her to be almost out of sight before turning on the car. I come to a crawl and follow her, the car barely moving from how slow we're moving.

I'm tempted to just reach out and grab her, to force her to tell me, but that probably won't work on her. She's too strong, and I need to break her down slowly, it's the only way to prove that she's just another girl.

I follow her through town, but she goes to West St. Damn! I can't go over there! I slam my hands on the wheel. Of course, she'd go over there! Where else would she go?!

I drive back to my place, thinking over what to do with that damn girl. She's definitely no normal girl, that's for sure. How didn't she know about the gangs?
