ch.2

My body was sweaty as I slept dreamt a supernatural dream. Creatures that aren't supposed to be real formed. A wolf swiftly ran through the forest as it stopped before a lake. Everything seemed like I was watching from fish-like vision. There was this cloudy mist which was flowing around my surrounds. Although my physical body wasn't there, the wolf seemed to sensed something and turned towards my direction. Soon the floating clouds obstructed my vision and then cleared away.

I saw a group of people or more like pale skinned beings that were drinking deep red wine at what seems like a huge luxury bar. There was a high ground platform with a few chairs with special features on them. Sitting on the one of the chairs was a man that I felt very familiar with. But when I tried to focus on him and his physical features more, he seemed to noticed my gaze. He turned to my direction but the clouds covered me again. I was only able to see his ruby red eyes and his short silver blond hair.

My dream changed into white space with the clouds and I was laying on something soft. I woke up feeling refreshed and I noticed my eyesight had improved greatly. The sun was about to rise and so it was a bit dark, but I was able to see things from far away. Not only that, I felt like my who body also changed. I ran to the bathroom and checked my appearance in the mirror. The few acne on my face had disappeared and my skin was perfectly smooth. I think I even smelled a bit...fruity. I was absolutely confused.

First, there was a weird dream. Then something happened to my body, like my soul was calling out. I remembered fragments of my dream as I could clearly recalled that man's rudy eyes and silver blond hair. There was also the lake that reflected the stars and wolf that had pale azure eyes and black fur. The sound of my alarm shook me out of my thoughts as I went but into the bedroom. After I had turned off my alarm, a call rang out and I picked up the call.

"Hello?"

"Elsie?"

"That's me."

"C-can I meet you? I'm Avery, Connor's girlfriend."

Avery sounded like she was completely heartbroken and in pain. I cringed as I remember having my connections send her that photo last night.

"Of course, give me your address and I'll be there very soon."

"T-thank you."

Avery sent me her address, which seems to be a huge home next to the forest. It was 30 minutes out from the city. I got ready and changed. Getting my keys, I got into the car and drove to her house with the gps. As I got closer, there was a huge house with lots of people and...wolfs? I was slightly shocked at the amount of wolves of different sizes running around but they seemed to be racing and playing with each other. As I parked the car a few feets away from the gates, I see Avery running towards me. When she was close enough she slow walked to meet me.

There were bags under her eyes and it was still watery, like she's doing her best not to cry. There was so much pain in her eyes. I pitied her a bit and went to give her a hug.

"Hey. How are you doing?"

"E-elsieee."

She was going to say something but cracked and started sobbing on my shoulder. I patted her back as I wait for her to calm down. Some of the people and wolves saw us gave a sad expression.

"Let's go to your bedroom and see if we can do something to change your situation."

I told her as she moved back to give me some space. Avery was known to be a very strong women in our college but I guess heartbreak hits everyone the same. As I sat down on her bed, she told me how hard it was for her. How she was dealing this and what she was going to do with this situation. After talking about her feelings, Avery seemed to be feeling a bit better. There was a knock on the door, a man opened and came in.

"Hi, I'm Lucas. I was wondering if you two were hungry. Avery, mom is very worried for you and asked me to give you and our guest something to eat and drink."

I stared at the man, as I was shocked at how familiar his hair and eyes were. He spoke as he came in with a large tray. When he looked up to me and came in contact, he froze too. The tray tipped and Avery had to rush and grabbed it from Lucas's hands. She seemed to realise something and stared at both of us with wide eyes. She was wondering what's going to happen as Lucas and I kept eye contact. I noticed that I was staring at him and got embarrass.

"Oh, I'm so sorry for staring at you. I'm Elsie."

I quickly said as Lucas's eyes focused on my every action and made me nervous. Lucas seemed to noticed that he was making me nervous so he coughed and smiled at me.

"It's very nice to meet you Elsie. Stay as long as you like and thank you for being with my sister."

"O-oh, it's nothing."

"Alright, I have things to do so I'll be going. See you Elsie."

Avery eyes widen as she watched our interaton. As Lucas closed the door after himself, Avery stared at me with a mix of emotions.

"What?"

I asked.

"My brother has never treated anyone like that...wow."

"Uhh...what do you mean?"

I panicked as I thought he hated me or something.

"He was...nice…"

Avery said with a frown.

"Isn't that normal?"

"No, not for Lucas. He's like a stone soldier. He can hold a normal conversation and all but. He. Never. Is. Nice. Only a little considerate. People respect him."

"Oh...so is it bad that he's nice to me?"

I asked, now seriously worried that he hated my guts.

"Of course not, this is fantastic. How do you feel about my brother?"

"Uhh...he's...hot."

"Eww. Gross. Okay don't tell me what you feel about my brother. You're making me gag."

I laugh as she made gagging noises with her joking-disgusted face.

"What? You asked."

"I know but I don't want to hear that stuff about my brother. Oh my gosh."

Avery said as her face scrunched up with weirdness. We chatted about each other, trying to know each other more as we ate the stuff that Lucas brought to us.

"So...when are you going to become my brother's girlfriend?"

"Well, I need to get to know him more."

"Yes, yes. Many opportunities for that."

Avery side while giving me a wink. I rolled my eyes at her as she pulled me up from her bed and dragged us for a nature walk. As we waked side by side along the trail, I was admiring the nature as everything around me was lush and green. So full of life and natural energy. After a few turns, I turned to look at Avery beside me but she wasn't there next to me.

"Avery?"

I weakly called out. It was getting dark as I didn't know where I was anymore. Suddenly there was a howl, making me flinch. Instead of staying in one place for Avery to find me, I was idiotic and continued walking as I try to find my walk back somehow.
