I Wish You Would

After dinner.

Alejandro had just finished loading the dishes into the dishwasher when he decided to turn on his phone.

It's been four days since he and Selena left and, his phone was bombarded with messages and missed called from his family.

His head shook with disbelief. It's mostly from his mother, asking where he is.

He didn't inform anyone where he was going, he had only asked for a vacation without giving any information as to where he was going.

Even if he wanted to give the place, he can't, he doesn't know where it was and not sure if this place does exist in the map.

He sighed and shut his phone once again. The last thing he wanted was to ruin his moment with Selena.

He walked back to the bedroom, where Selena is waiting.

As much as he wanted to touch her he could not. He fought the temptation and it's been hard since Selena has been trying to seduce him.

Like now, when he entered the room, he found Selena on the couch, slouching with her thin lace nightgown.

He sighed and grabbed the blanket on the bed.

When he reached her, he asked her to get up which Selena did without questions.

He shook his head, asking if he's crazy by stopping himself from touching her.

A voice in his head was urging him to rip her thin nightie but, Alejandro just shut his eyes while his hand covered Selena's body with a blanket.

"What are you doing Alejandro?" He opened his eyes and found Selena staring at him with confusion.

"You look better in that orange pajama," he said, and lightly pushed her back to the couch.

He sat next to her. The popcorn she was eating was on the table. He picked it up and since both of Selena's hands was locked inside the blanket, he decided to feed her.

When Selena rested her head on his shoulder, Alejandro wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Then his other hand picked up the popcorn and started feeding her.

They watched the drama playing on the television but, both of their minds were somewhere else.

Selena sighed, she doesn't know why Alejandro was avoiding her. She had tried all the seduction she read on the email Daniella sent to her but, Alejandro was not responding like how Daniella said.

Like now, he covered her body with a blanket and as much as she wanted to remove it, she can't. She doesn't want Alejandro to think that she's seducing him even though that's what she has been doing all the time.

(I will be thirty next week and, I am still virgin! I am gonna die virgin! then I am gonna be a ghost virgin!) She cried inside, while her eyes pretended to watch the drama on the television.

Her lips parted as she waited for Alejandro to feed her with the popcorn but, her jaw had turned numb from waiting.

Her head, resting on Alejandro's shoulder rose to look at him. She moped a little, Alejandro was staring at the television with a complex expression.

"I don't understand it," he muttered, looking at her with eyes of a confused child.

Selena shook her head, "I don't understand it as well."

Then she giggled sweetly, head bending to rest on Alejandro's shoulder.

"Do you want to finish it?" he asked, and every word he spoke vibrated on her face.

"Not sure. What about you?"

"Nah!"

They both went quiet. Selena noticed that there seems to be a wall between them. There are times, like now - where they would become silent for no reason.

Selena weight her situation. Wondering if she should open a topic or wait for him.

As she was about to part her lips, Alejandro's voice rang to her ears

"Let's sleep" she moved away to look at him, wondering if he's tired but, they both had done nothing in the last days than to talk and just lay together somewhere.

"Ok," she faintly said, a hint of disappointment was in her voice.

Selena got up, with the blanket around her body and face sulking, she marched towards the bathroom.

The hems of the blanket hauled on the ground, Alejandro watched her as he tried to fight the demon in his mind urging him to pin her on the bed.

He sighed, they have decided to go back tomorrow since Danny will be back tomorrow.

Thinking of leaving the Island, Alejandro felt a hand gripping his heart. His eyes shifted at the closed bathroom door. It opened and let out Selena with a blanket over her body.

He gave her a feeble smile; he noticed a book under the center table earlier so he picked it up and showed it to her.

'Would you like me to read this for you?' he asked, he had noticed that Selena always had a book next to her before sleeping. He wondered why until one day, he woke up in the middle of the night and found her reading a book.

'What kind of book is that?' Selena asked, head bending with confusion.

Alejandro shrugged a shoulder, he just found it and it looked like a children's book based on the drawing on the cover.

Selena stood in front of him, one hand was holding the blanket while the other stretched to get the book from him.

'This is Alexa's book. It only has pictures so you're gonna have to make your own story,' she sneered. Her cheeks rose a little as they blushed.

'Alright, Let's go to the bed then,' saying that, Alejandro intertwined their fingers and, pulled her towards the bed.

And as the time past, Selena fell asleep on Alejandro's chest. Slowly, he lowered the book onto the bedside table and then turned to watch her resting peacefully.

A faint smile curved on his lips. His hand moved to her face and brushed the hair on her cheeks.

Then his phone buzzed. He shut his eyes, he must have forgotten to turn it off after Selena used his phone to call her uncle.

He gently moved Selena's head and lay it on the pillow, after making sure that she's asleep, he got out of the bed.

He sighed and picked up his phone on the table next to the couch. His eyebrow creased after seeing the last message he received: it was from his mother.

'I found out that Daniella Chen has a book with medicine formula. It will be a big help if we could get a hold of it.'

After reading the message, Alejandro brushed a hand over his face. His eyes, full of guilt looked at Selena peacefully sleeping on the bed.

With his fists clenching with anger, he walked out of the room – mind and feelings are conflicted.

His feet brought him in front of the closed library. Out of nowhere, the voice of Selena's uncle Danny rang in his ear.

(Library is off-limit) those are the words Danny spoke when they first met. At first, he didn't understand it but, now that his mother sent him those messages, he realized the reason why.

He lifted a hand to touch the doorknob and, as he was about to twist it open, a voice spoke from behind.

'Alejandro,' his heart pounded after hearing Selena's weak voice. He gulped hard. As he turned to face her, his lips shook a bit.

'Are you not sleepy? The library is off-limits. Only Chen and Chu can enter it,' she yawned.

'Oh,' Alejandro chuckled nervously.

'Chen? What about your uncle?' he remained standing in the same place. Knives were poking his heart with guilt.

'Uncle Evan? Yes. They do their siblings meeting there. Ken Chu, he's Daniella half-brother. You must have known him; he owned the Chu pharmaceutical. Weird family,' Selena innocently chuckled.

'Oh!' that's all he could say. Alejandro withdrew his hand from touching the doorknob and walked towards her.

'Hey! You are a doctor. Maybe you want to check their books,' his body frost after hearing it. Eyebrows creased as he looked at her with shock.

'Is it fine?' he said tensely.

'Yeah,'

'But I thought this is off limit,' he said hesitating.

'Well, it's only us here. And don't worry, there's nothing inside aside from books. Go ahead and read anything you want. I will go back to the bed,' after Selena said that, another yawn let out from her lips.

'Alright,' he replied in almost a whisper.

'Goodnight Alejandro,' she charmingly said. Her feet took a big step towards him and, when she finally reached him, she tiptoed to place a small kiss on his cheeks.

'Don't stay up late,' she said with another smile.

'Yeah. I won't,' he mirrored her smile and, watched as her figure vanished in the hallway.
