Surviving zombies one day at time

Jenny was a dreamer and book worm. Her normal life consisted of work in a normal store, had few friends and family that never cared about her. One day she had a bad dream and as things started happening just like in her dream, she realized that she just had to prepare. Or it will be a zombie apocalypse or she will just have more food than she needs and will just eat it with time. But it really happened. She is just a normal human that was in the mid worst zombie zone and was trying to survive it. But things changed after she realized her cravings for sweets were not normal... Suddenly she could feel things. the wind, the sun, the people around her. The zombies... Zombies... She can feel them. But this time it was a bit different. She could feel them moving towards a certain direction, as it seems they aimed for something and she could feel that hunger deep inside her again.

She closed her eyes and held her stomach that churned again. She tried to take a few stones from her pockets but they spilled and she started shaking. Mike luckily saw her condition and grabbed a handful of the stones and stuffed it inside her mouth.

She could literally feel how the stones melted like candies in her mouth leaving sweet after taste. Candies? She never had a sweet tooth, not even as a child. She sighed. It seems those things taste sweet to her.

Jong's family members tried to help her come up and see what's wrong while he just shook his head. ''She changed as well. Somehow she got the ability of protections hield, but we do not know how long it will last. So please hurry up so we can bring her home. Hurry.''

Mina was really worried and choose to drive in the cabriolet on the backseat while hugging Jenny in her rams. Soon jenny woke up again. She knew they were getting closer to the big mall if they pass this chance who knows when is next one. ''Mike. I feel fine now. Let's stop here. We need as much stuff as possible. But let's go to the storage behind. No time to search for item per item. Mina, you have a license and your mom as well.''

MIna nodded. ''Grandfather is the amazing driver. He can drive as well. You probably plan to get trucks?''

Mina and Jenny were friends for years so she already could assume her intentions.

Mike knew they al head clear view of the world so he went behind the mall and saw the open gate of the storage area. Few zombies tried to escape the smell from their bodies so he felt assured that it was still working. Her shield. Who knows is this temporary or permanent.

Better rush.

They were at first just a dozen people. Adding the four people more they had enough drivers. Except for the grandmother, all others choose to drive a huge truck. They started filling it first with food. Ten trucks. Two trucks with solar equipment. One truck was frozen meat and vegetables. And the last one was all kinds of fresh vegetables and fruit.

They were done quite fast and so she went from truck to truck and started smearing them with blood. Front sides back, front sides back... All trucks. But she didn't feel weak. Luckily they were already halfway back home so they just started the trucks and rushed back to the apartment area.

There were already hundreds of people waiting to help out. Jenny was stunned. Where did these appear?

She looked at Mike that just shrugged. ''I told you they will go and check other buildings. Its wonder that there are so many. Go home. One of the food trucks, a half truck of solar equipment and you will get a truck full of bullets and other things. We will go again for the raid. Don't worry. Into your building, none of us will dare to enter. It's yours. I heard the story.''

She shrugged. ''I can accept people inside. But if they choose to have some weird ideas, kill them. I leave that on you.'' For now, she is safe as she was needed by them. And it's better if there are more people in her building.

Mike stared at her with his dark eyes. ''Then can I move closer as well?''

She nodded. ''Fist three floors should belong only to you. As long as you don't blow up the building I am fine. ''

All he could do is happily accepted. Those three floors are actually perfect. He could control a few other people that he chose to live there. At the same time... He gave glace to her back and turned around.

Jenny had a headache. Where should she put the truck worth of food? Then she remembered the eighteenth floor, she had the key. On her way up she first went to get the dog that actually adoringly snuggled in Mina's hands. Oh well, maybe its better that way.

''Mina, his owner is dead. Please care about it well. We should first gather all the dog food in the house and bring it up to your apartment.'' they had time. The trucks were parked in front of their building door and the main gate was tall and she closed it. If they want to steal it, they would have to pass Mike and his crew.

he knew there were some people on higher floors in other buildings, with sniper guns, taking care of safety. Mike ordered them to shoot at people if they choose to get close to her building. He left with others to harvest everything they could in the mall.

So Mina's family just went up to the eighteenth floor, left their carriers and went down to help Jenny and Mina with all the stuff inside. She told them to get the heavy curtains as well. And then started harvesting other floors. Food, appliances, candles, stuff they might need.

On the end, she found in her grandma's cabinet all the keys from the apartments and started opening them up. Soon she found more things. She got all she thought she could need. From fishing gear up to camping gear. Cooking books, light literature and novels. Movies. Games. she harvested it all, leaving the rest of the stuff there. Then she found in one apartment fluffy clothes, pillows and blankets. She took one for herself and the rest took the Jong family.

In the world that went crazy, who knows when they could find such good stuff again. Good linen, new sets of kitchenware. They took it all. But left the apartments clean, instead of messy.
