"Kairen: Surviving in the Modern World" CHAPTER 4

I startle when someone starts to talk, I look back and I see (dad) who just entered the room and followed by (mom). 

"Are you okay?"

I slightly nod my head and look at the window again. 

"I am Krim Sai your biological father and this woman" 

I turn around again and stare at them. (Mom) placed her hand near her chest and said.

"I am Raiko 'Michael' Sai, dear I am your mother."

I can feel the pain on her low tone of voice. She immediately but slowly ran and hugged me tightly with care and warmth on her arms, I smiled unconsciously and sigh because of relief. I know, they love their daughter but now I am not her, I am a different person from a different world. 

"Honey, we should let her rest and sleep now."

(Dad) said while fixing my bed, (Mom) carefully guided me to bed and helped me to sit and lie down. 

"I know your body is still in pain so be careful especially when you're trying to move, Doctor said that they will ran few more test on you before you can discharge"

(Mom) said and slowly, carefully touching (my) long black hair.

"So dear please bare it a bit more"

(Dad) said and smiled at me. I didn't answer to say yes, instead I looked the other way.

"We will leave now so you can rest comfortable"

Still, I didn't answer them until they left my room, I just stared at the ceiling and thought about what things will happen to me now. Silvestre—explain to me what I should do!

I woke up when the morning sunlight hit my face. I open my eyes while covering my face from the sun. I look around the room and I see (mom) sitting on the couch.

"Hi dear, did you sleep well?"

She asked with a smile on her lips, she's holding a book and wearing eye glass. Her black curly wave hair, a pair of black colored eyes, pink lips and pale skin makes her elegant, but her clothes are the one that bring her elegant beauty more mesmerizing. It is hard to explain since I'm not familiar with this world but I think this world allows women to wear men's clothes and it suits (mom) well.

"Am—Yes"

She smiled again warmly. 

"Can you stand up? Let's clean up your dad will come back in any minute now he buys you some foods for us"

I look down and unconsciously play with my fingers. I'm shy to ask her for help but--- she stood up and walked towards me and she extended her hand. I look at it for a while before holding it.

"Here, I'll help you"

My face brightened up when she said that.

"I am sorry but please help me"

I smile (my) voice still cold and lifeless but when I smile at her eyes are obviously shocked for a moment.

She guided me to another door inside the room and when she opened it had a toilet and a sink? Sinks in my world are only for the kitchen, not the bathroom. We stop in front of the sink and there is also a mirror. I look at myself, what a gorgeous person, with black straight hair and cold stare that will stare at you to death, yellow emerald eyes, pink lips and pale skin. I didn't wear any beautiful or elegant dress or clothes but I look pretty enough because of my face.

I flinched when (mom) suddenly held me by my shoulders. 

"Beautiful, just like me"

She chuckled and handed me a toothbrush.

I grabbed it and started to brush my teeth. After that she opened the thing on the center of the sink [faucet] and it released water. COOL!

"Go, wash your face"

She said so I do. The water is not hot and not that cold and having this is too convenient! You don't need a maid to prepare your morning wash. 

"Done?"

"Yes, thank you"

When we leave the bathroom (dad) is already in my room holding some food on a plate. Now to think that (I'm) that beautiful, (dad) is too cool and handsome. His yellow emerald eyes, navy blue hair, broad shoulders and beige skin tone makes him hot too. I think (mom) and (dad) are a perfect match for each other.

"Honey, did you give Silver a call?"

(Dad) asked while preparing the table.

"Yes, I told him that Kairen woke up yesterday"

(Mom) said, still holding my hands and carefully holding my waist to give some support while we're walking. We reach the table where the food is, I can say that this food is delicious just by smell! Though the appearance is weird for me.

"I know that he's worried about our Princess but I still send him to finish some task"

(Dad) said again and started eating.

"Did you think you're a devil honey?"

(Mom) said between chuckles, I don't know what they are talking about so whatever~

Looking at (moms) food I guess it's a vegetable salad? (Dad) has chicken and rice on his plate, while on my plate I have pasta but the sauce is white? [carbonara] ohhh~ what is this? Bun with meat, vegetables and some cheese that serve as fillings? [burger] and long but not that long strips of something, hmm-- I think it's potato? With some tomato sauce as a dip I think? [fries]

"Oh~ dear, why are you not eating? Is there anything wrong?"

(Mom) asked me with a worried voice and face.

"If I am not mistaken that food is your favorite one, did you not want it anymore?"

I look at the foods in front of me again. I know that they are delicious, but the way they look is a bit weird for me. If this is some of the favorite food of the real Kairen I think trying a bite will not harm me no? I need to try it!

"Is this my favorite food?"

I asked and looked at them and they just smiled at me sadly.

I ate the white pasta first, it tasted different from what pasta tastes in my world. I can taste the milk and some cheesiness. It has mushrooms and hams! I like it! I am still eating when I look at (mom) and (dad) smiling at me, for a moment some part of my empty feelings has disappeared.

After we ate (mom) and (dad) says that they have to leave early because their business will not wait for them to come back so now I will be alone for two days.

(Mom) also said that after two days my fiancée will come and visit me, he's the one who will take care and will accompany me while they're gone, but to think that the real Kairen has her fiancée makes me think what kind of man he is? 

Ahhh~ what if he's an old man that is looking for a young lady to be his new wife? I'm done! I don't like that! At least give me someone in my age~ that would be fine- physical appearance is not always important, but of course it would be great if he was handsome just like (dad)

First, calm down Kairan! I mean Kairen- (dad) is not like that-- he's not that kind of person who will let his dear daughter marry an old pervert man or even to an ugly ass man. I think he loves me just like mom, right?

I am busy walking back and forth while biting my nails because of frustration and anxiousness when someone knocks on the door.

"Miss Sai?"

Then the nurse from before entered the room, but she looked at me with shock and disbelief written on her face.

"Miss?! You shouldn't stand and walk carelessly! Your body is still fragile!"

Then she walked towards me and slowly guided me to my bed.

"Fragile? But I can tolerate the pain though?"

I asked when I was finally sitting on my bed.

"For you, but it is because you have high tolerance to pain compared to ordinary person"

She said while staring at me with her hands on her waist.

"Ehhh~ to think that I have super powers- cool!"

I said with matching sparkling eyes, but the nurse's face became darker than before.

"Is that a bad thing to have?"

I ask again with an innocent voice.

"Of course! If someone broke their bone, the pain is unbearable and will make them cry but if that happens to you, you can only feel like you bump into something and get bruises! And that will make your injury worse!"

She yells and while making weird gestures.
