So the rest of the day passed, and Theo was worried as he lay in his bed, tomorrow would be the day the first disaster arrived and tested all the players. He didn't know what would happen the next day, but he had an idea, and so he ordered his guards to be even more alert early in the morning, when the disaster was supposed to begin.
Due to information obtained by Amethyst Theo imagined that it would be a wave of beasts with a Boss, which would be much stronger than the normal beasts faced so far. The bear and wolf he faced would be considered a joke, even though they killed a few other unlucky players.
Only when it was almost midnight did he manage to sleep, and until the next morning, nothing woke him up. The fight had been going on since the first hour of the day, and more and more beasts were seen coming to his camp. And he only found out about it through Amethyst who gave her report when she saw him standing.
For her, disturbing her master's sleep was something he would never do, even if it meant going through some problems when making decisions. But luckily for her, everything went well, and none of her lord's units or even subordinates were injured or, worse, died.
Although everything was going well, Theo realized that he should put a limit on Amethyst's overprotection, as this could cause bigger problems over time. He then gave some orders to his units and subordinates before recruiting a new ranger, and another warrior, who in a few moments were already helping their companions.
With everything going on without him needing to provide support or direct orders, Theo took the opportunity to check out the regional chat. The number had already dropped significantly and would soon be so low that it would probably be merged with the nearest region. It was obvious from what was seen in the chat that many would die, as they were not even trying to level up their units. Something he has done since he arrived, knowing that this day would come and if he wasn't prepared, he would die and be part of the statistics of this game.
Normally, he wouldn't be one of those who feels sorry for those who don't help themselves, or don't have the will to survive. But this time it was different, as these people didn't have the choice of whether or not to participate in this crazy game. That's why many gave up, knowing they couldn't bear to live that way, but for Theo, giving up was never an option, he would stay alive even though it was unbearably difficult and cruel.
Many people were desperate in the chat, talking about his situation, but he didn't have time to finish reading a message as another one was already arriving, and so it went on and on. Theo trained like never before and depleted his MANA quickly, so he put on his ring to gain a quick recovery boost.
He then starts to check the situation of his units and the structure of the wall, his concern was that it would not survive until the end of the event. But everything seemed to be in order, and there weren't even any cracks or scratches that could cause concern as soon as he saw that everything was normal. He forced himself to participate in some killings so that his subordinates would see that he wouldn't let them fight alone when his power was needed.
After a few hours of killing, it was noon, and that's when it happened, what Theo had been waiting for since he received the information from Amethyst. The Boss had arrived and was a huge gorilla that could easily exceed 5 meters in height if measured. The strongest units at that moment focused on killing him, Bones attacked and ran as he had taught, while Ranger shot arrows at his vital points whenever it seemed that Bones would not be able to dodge a blow. Taking the Boss's attention so that he missed the blow, he then went back to shooting at less vital points, which only made the gorilla angrier.
Other units sometimes supported Bones to get a strength bonus from the fighting skill, causing more damage per attack that landed on him. But things weren't going anywhere like that, as the damage wasn't enough to incapacitate or even kill this monster. So Theo had an idea, it was a little risky, but if it worked, he would do good damage to the Boss.
He then called Alika and told her the plan, just as he thought, she said it would be risky, but it could work. Then they separated, Theo called Gael and gave him a simple order to use his equipment and the goblin staff to cast a lightning spell that Alika would teach him. To make the Boss immobile and then return everything to him.
Alika would use fire magic, while he himself would use his newly learned earth magic to trap the gorilla in a pit created by his magic. And Alika would use fire magic to deal damage at that time. The plan could go wrong at any moment since he and Gael had no experience in this type of situation, but it was all they could do now.
After some preparation time, they started the plan, and everything was going very well, until Gael decided to rebel. After hitting the Boss he turned around and cast his new magic, aiming at Theo, who only missed the hit because his new staff had a shield spell that automatically protected him.
Luckily, Theo had already done his part in the plan and was able to solve this problem with a simple order, but one that would make even some villains think before offending him.
"Stop breathing and moving."
Gael lay there unable to move or breathe, he quickly began to feel the effects of running out of air in his lungs, and no matter how much his brain ordered his lungs to function, they remained still. With the loss of oxygen, his brain started to hurt, and he couldn't even think straight now, until Theo arrived at his location and told him he could breathe again, but not speak or move.
