Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

Umbra Asterio

Whatever she was talking about, Eo was right.

As soon as this random lady walked into the room, I was met with a sense of dread from her gaze. Orange eyes glistened against the light so intensely that I was almost blinded by the reflection. Not to mention, her pitch black hair didn't capture any of the light, since it was cleared from her eyes in a middle part.

Umbra was wearing a weird dress, split into an asymmetrical pattern with a royal purple color on it on her right side, and black on her left side. Her dress was made of thin material and didn't expand once it passed her thighs. On top of that, she was wearing a glove on the left side of her hand, with a portion cut out for her White Stone on the back of her hand.

"I sense her. The Goddess of Wrath. Is that you?" Umbra looked at me with a death stare, and I couldn't help but find myself forgetting that I was Corrupted. One look from her scared me back to my normal self.

Umbra's twin tails and red ribbons blew in the wind as she turned back to look at Eo with an annoyed gaze.

"You needed me, to push her Corruption?" Umbra asked Eo. Her voice was light... but she was kind of muscly. Sort of like she should sound a lot... buffer...

"Would that be a problem?" Eo asked Umbra.

"I don't really have time for this. Whatever it is you need help with, sorry, but I'm here to pick up some materials for my home, and then return. If it's not important, then I don't really care." Umbra said.

Then why would she make an effort to come all this way to the hospital?!

"Hey! Listen, I'm not sure if you know or not-" I said, but was cut off by Umbra.

"Don't raise your voice at me Blondie. You're not worth my time or energy. Eo, don't call me here again." She said.

"Listen bitch. We need your help to fight Illya Asterio. If you can help us, we can return the favor, but we're far too weak right now to do such a thing." I told Umbra, but she didn't even flinch. Instead, she began to chuckle.

"Getting vulgar with me? Don't be ridiculous, I know who you're fighting, I just don't really care what that girl does. It's beyond me, I have my own people to worry about." Umbra said. Dammit, she responds to anger pretty calmly... how could I upset her?

"What about the name Sky Asterio? Would that intrigue you anymore?" I asked her. She turned her eyes toward me and again, that orange gaze sent chills up my spine.

"What do you know about Sky?" She asked me.

I couldn't tell what it was about the way she referred to him... but it seemed like there was some sort of previous relationship between the two, whether it be a friend... or whatever else.

"What do I know about him? Please, I know that he took out Orion Danafall on the Isle. He's the White Stone of Wrath, and most importantly, he saved us all, brought us to The Scorched Isle, and then sacrificed himself to get Illya out of our hair." I told her. Anything to peak her interest... come on...

"Oh? He's the one who took out Orion... what about Zeal?" Umbra asked me again.

"Illya killed Zeal. He turned that desert into a glass pane with an attack that we didn't see, and then he attempted to kill Sky, but Illya intercepted and eviscerated him. Sky only ever killed two of the White Stones, while Zeal killed the others." I told her again.

"Who did Zeal kill? Do you know?" Umbra said. Her interest was piqued. I have to take advantage of this.

"Xian... Elo... Talion... I think that's all. Sky killed Demos and Orion, and Zeal was killed by Illya." I repeated for Umbra. She sat down in a chair, lifting up her black shoes and crossing her legs.

"I figured he was lying when he told me he needed backup, and that Sky killed everybody. Sky has never been the type to kill his brothers without a just cause. Although, I did hear about the altercation that occurred that caused Demos's death. Now... why does Illya want Sky?" Umbra asked, looking all around the room, then stopping at Eo.

"To stop Illya's brother, Eirikr." Eo shortly finished her sentence and Umbra's attention was fully piqued at our conversation now.

"She intends to replenish Sky's Deity status, then fight him? Don't be ridiculous, without Avie, they would lose." Umbra said.

We all paused and I'm sure thought the same thing.

"Avie...? Isn't that the name of that person who Illya told to sleep for a little longer?" I muttered.

Before I could comprehend the vibe of the room, I could feel murderous intent fixate straight into my eyes. Umbra's eyes lit up in their orange color, and golden strands streaked the outside of her eyes in a weird pattern that looked like a vortex.

"You're telling me, Avie is alive?" She said. The distortion in her voice couldn't be hidden, no matter how much she tried, and the room went dead silent as I nodded.

The golden strands that streaked Umbra's face had disappeared and she went back to staring at the ground.

"Why is that person important to you?" I dared to ask Umbra.

"That's my big sister. Avie Asterio. She was the Entity locked within Sky before he died, and we thought that four hundred years ago when he died, she followed behind him. But to think, both would reincarnate... did Illya plan for that?" Umbra muttered to herself.

"You seemed to nail it on the head. That's exactly why Illya made her stand now, of all times before. Avie must be close to reawakening, and although I didn't tell Dani and the others that, if it's what entices you to help us become powerful enough to take out Illya, then we'll go with it as well." Eo told Umbra.

"You've sold me on that idea. You don't have to repay my city anything, but you must protect Avie... if you do that, I will automatically push you to Deity Status. Do we have a deal?" Umbra asked. She was desperate now...

"Fine, that works. I'll get your big sister and keep her safe from Illya. Now, how can I become powerful enough to fight Illya?" I asked Umbra.
