Hiyochi wrapped her wound in bandages, but we all realized as she rolled up her sleeve to do so, that several other similar bandages were on the surface of her right arm as well.
"How many injuries do you have?!" Griff called out to her, but she only looked up with an absent mind and a smile.
"As many as it takes to become perfect," Hiyochi said.
This girl... her concentration was absolute! Her commitment to this career was unreal... and it was honorable. I could learn a lot from her...
Hiyochi stood still for a moment, her eyes darting all around the room. She looked at the door, the walls, and then the chair in the middle of the room, which we once put Dani into to corrupt her System.
"There's blood around. Please, clean the room, Lia-nee and Lily-nee." Hiyochi said.
She slapped on blue gloves that were skin-tight and kicked the door open with her foot as an announcement came over that loudspeaker we heard of before.
"Hiyochi, you have a patient upfront, puncture wound, straight through the middle of her chest." We heard.
Lily and I quickly jumped into action, grabbing the spray bottles and several wet wipes to clean the surface of everything. Hiyochi hadn't told us where everything was, so we had to use what was around, even if improper.
"Uh, what should we do?!" Griff yelled out.
"Open the door for her, make sure she can get in without worry, and I'll prepare tools, as many as I can," Alexia said. Griff and Jeff pushed the swinging doors open and held them that way as footsteps approached. Lily and I just finished with everything and stood a good distance away from the patient as Hiyochi carried them in on a gurney, pushing a peddle to raise them up to the same level as the bed in the room.
"Tell me, Brutus, are they Human or Arkian?" Hiyochi asked. She grabbed a mask and held it in her hands as she waited for the answer.
"Arkian, I knew her parents. Please, this is my mistake... please save her..." The big man named Brutus said. Hiyochi nodded, placing the face mask aside, and walking over to the body in the middle of the room.
"Is she pregnant, or breastfeeding?" Hiyochi asked again, to which Brutus shook his head.
"You two gentlemen don't care about boobs, do you? You'll see a lot of them." Hiyochi said, ripping open the patient's shirt to reveal the puncture wound. The tiny metal bar shoved into the middle of her chest was sticking out and the edges of the wound were spurting blood.
"Hm..." Hiyochi muttered, grabbing a syringe filled with blue liquid, and shoving it into her body, right beside the bar.
Nobody else noticed the tapping of Hiyochi's foot, but her eyes were unfocused on the patient, and instead tapping on the floor while she looked at the bed the patient was sitting on. She tapped her foot at a steady rate about twenty-seven times before smiling once more.
Hiyochi grabbed another syringe filled with a white liquid and then placed her left hand on the bar inside the patient's chest.
"Alexia-nee and Griff, hold her shoulders down. Jeff, grab the syringe with the green liquid on the counter and insert it into the side of her neck, and wait for my mark to inject it." Hiyochi said. She went back to tapping her foot as Alexia and Griff put their weight on the patient's shoulders.
"Lily-nee, hold her feet down," Hiyochi said.
On the twenty-seventh tap of her foot once more, Hiyochi pulled the metal bar out, injected the white liquid into the hole in her chest, and told Jeff to use his syringe in a calm voice.
All in a matter of five seconds, her wound closed up, and her eyes shot open. The patient sat upright and was heavily panting while analyzing her surroundings.
Hiyochi gathered all of the syringes, and as calm as ever, walked around the office, refilling them, and putting them in the locations for usage in case another patient walked in.
My jaw was almost hitting the floor in shock as she nonchalantly pushed the patient's body back and forth to look at it in depth.
"Didn't go through? Must not have been too intensely inserted. What's your name?" Hiyochi asked the patient, rubbing her back and feeling for a heartbeat. My mom used to do that to me all the time... why was Hiyochi doing it?
"It's Brooke. What happened to me?" She asked, but Hiyochi stood silent as she put her ear up against Brooke's back.
"You were wounded, but you're fine now. Brutus, take extra care of her and give her the next eleven days off. And, keep that as exact as possible. Her muscles will regenerate about two-hundred and sixty-four hours from now and will need stimulation near that hour mark. Brooke, as for you, take these pills once every sixteen hours, as close to the exact hour, and stay out of trouble." Hiyochi said, opening a drawer and putting her skin-tight gloves in.
"What the hell was that?! That was a whole surgery... and you did it in a minute! That's not how that works, is it?" Griff yelled out in amazement.
Brutus was about to go in and hug Brooke, but Hiyochi placed her hand between the two and shook her head.
"Yes it was sad, but save that for eleven days from now. Any unnecessary stimulation will open the wound too soon." Hiyochi said, turning back to Griff and dropping the straight look on her face.
"Well, yeah, for Arkians it is. All Arkians and Arkian-Hybrids have an advanced form of Hyaluronic Acid in their bodies that can speed up healing with red blood cells, and their bodies automatically rearrange veins, arteries, and capillaries accordingly. All I did was stimulate those cells and acids in her body to heal her. Since she's an Arkian, her ability to heal is increased when her brain receives stimulation directly, which was the green liquid I had you put into her neck. All in all, everything connects to heal the patient. However, the rules are different for Humans. Even if they're rare, some humans need full surgery, which can take up to a whole day to heal wounds like that." Hiyochi said. She sat back down in the chair with her hands behind her neck and took a deep breath.
"There are shirts in that drawer, take one if you can't cover up." She said.
Brooke took a shirt, bowed, thanked Hiyochi, and then left the room.
"Hiyochi... that was amazing! How many surgeries have you done?!" I asked, I couldn't hold my curiosity in anymore.
"Thanks, Lia-nee! Let's see.. that was probably three hundred and four by now. All successful so far, and I pray it stays the same." She stated.
"With some practice, I can teach you the general ideas and get you to my level, and finally have a decrease of work! Not that I hate it, but we've been having more and more injuries since Queen Ultima started mobilizing her forces." Hiyochi told us.
