Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

System Corruption

I ran towards Raven, no weapon, only drive pushing me forward, and his hand began to reach for the katana. It felt like time froze at this moment. I watched Dani squint in pure fear, trying to wish away that strike Raven was about to make.

I didn't want others to suffer anymore… not when I could be doing something! That weapon…

I NEED THAT WEAPON! What can I do to get that weapon from Raven's grasp? Anything?!

[System Alert: White Stone Ability Unlocked!]

[Weapon Recall: Gain the ability to force weapons into your hand!]

I focused on the handle to Raven's katana, trying to use this 'ability' the system granted me. With all of my willpower, I pushed against the ground with my arm extended, my tunnel vision directing right towards the handle. And that's when it began to shake.

[RECALLING ARMAMENT…]

Raven's katana slightly rattled in the sheathe before instantaneously shooting into the palm of my left hand. I traded the katana between my hands and continued to run after him.

[System Alert! Corruption at 95%]

The pain in the left side of my head all started to flow into my eye. The pain was excruciating, but this itch in my head of wanting to kill Raven pushed past that! It was impeding my speed at this point… this was becoming a problem.

My foot slammed into the ground as time kept flowing at the slowest possible pace. The tunnel vision was directed right at Raven's neck.

[System Alert! Corruption at 97%]

My breathing shortened as the pain in my eye started to scream at the rest of my body. It was beginning to shut down my body, this pain behind my eye was the most awful thing I've ever felt!

One last step and my hand rose towards my head, gripping it in pain.

I don't want to do this...

I kept thinking back to that blackened lake… 'You can do something, you're just too afraid.' I shrieked out in pain and dug the last of my fingertips into my left eye socket, grabbing the tiny ball and ripping it from my head.

I didn't want to do it, but as I ripped the eye out, it got rid of the agonizing pain... so I didn't even feel it anymore.

Just like tearing flesh from the cat, I ripped every last connection it had to my head and threw it to the floor. A burst of rage overcame my entire body as the pain dispersed almost entirely.

[System Alert! Corruption at 99%]

[WARNING! SYSTEM WILL CORRUPT IF ACTION CONTINUES!]

SHUT UP YOU DAMN SYSTEM!

I jumped into the air after my final step and slung the katana above my head, charging it back for one attack I knew I couldn't miss.

"White Stones can't kill; I don't know what you think you're trying." Raven told me.

The purple sparks in my stone shot out in a blinding light, but I didn't stop. Even when the system told me to, I couldn't stop right now… because Dani needed my help, and if I stopped, she'd be killed! I can't let that happen, not again!

[HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!]

A distorted voice rose out of my throat and the katana started to dig into Raven's neck, pushing deep into his skin and spewing blood –

[SYSTEM ALERT! YOUR SYSTEM HAS BECOME CORRUPT!]

[System Corruption: Level One]

[User Registered: Sky – White Stone of Wrath]

Raven's shining katana sliced straight through his head and threw it up in the air with the power. The purple sparks launched me back into the house at the top of the hill.

I went straight through the first wall, cracking the wood with the cementing paste, and straight through the second wall as well, hitting the stone wall surrounding the base and putting a crack in it before abruptly stopping.

All of the air left my lungs, and I was stuck gasping with a sharp pain in my chest. I clutched the sand, pushing it between my fingers as I gasped harder and sharper for more air, but nothing came into my mouth it seemed.

Leaning against the stone with my weakened body, I coughed up more blood than what my tongue had leaked out. I lost all oxygen in my body and collapsed to the ground. The fatigue captivating my body was too intense.

--Dani's Perspective--

As I watched Sky jump towards Raven, I began to get worried. I knew about his Corruption and how he couldn't reach it, but even as he jumped toward Raven to attack, he didn't falter for one moment. Not when he ripped his eye from his head, not when he slashed down.

The blood splattered off of Raven's sword onto my face on the way down, and I could see his eyes in his decapitated head whisper 'how?' before falling to the ground and rolling down the hill. It came to an abrupt stop as it bounced at Ellie's feet while she held her broken wrist.

"Retreat! This White Stone can kill!" Ellie ran out of the front door of our base as everybody was captivated by the destroyed building Sky just created, along with the cracked wall in the back of our base, but nobody could see his eyes…

His irises were a completely red color, like blood. I felt pure fear watching his eyes shift and how he bared his teeth at Raven's remarks about hurting me. He attacked and was shot back with purple sparks from his stone and was thrown into that building, I pushed myself up to my feet and ran over to him, going straight through the building with two collapsed walls and jumping over debris.

"SKY!" I yelled out. He was lying in a puddle of his own blood right now, slowly seeping out of one of his wounds. I prayed he wasn't dead. I even felt for multiple heartbeats all over his body. His throat, his wrist, anywhere I could. Luckily enough, I felt the heartbeat, but his chest didn't seem to be expanding. When I flipped him over, blood poured out of his mouth in a steady stream.
