Their swords clashed with such a fierce amount of power that wind blew out beside their strikes. The sail scattered in the wind as Sky pushed back against Orion, forcing him to retreat.
Sky closed that distance in milliseconds and kicked Orion in the side. Orion was thrown into one of the cabins bordering the deck of the boat and the wood smashed against his back like it was soft...
"HEY! Why don't you get out of there? We're just getting started!" Sky said. His voice had a hint of distortion within it. It was hidden, but since I was so close to him, I could hear it. Like a voice speaking out with his own as he walked toward Orion. Sky pulled Orion out of the cabin and punched him so hard in the chest, that his ribs deformed around the strike and he was sent into the pillar I was once thrown into. The pillar collapsed with ease and the sail fell into the water with it, meaning the only thing pushing us forward was the tide of the ocean.
"What the fuck are you looking at?" Sky rose his hand and slapped me so hard I bounced off of the deck of the boat, landing right against one of the cabins as well.
"Lia! Hey! What the hell is your problem?!" Lily shouted out. I grabbed her by her shoulder and pulled her in close.
"Get away from him! He's not doing that on purpose! If we don't stay out of sight, we'll die too!" I told her. I could tell Lily didn't want to listen, but there wasn't much she could do. Getting in Sky's way right now would mean death. This was his corrupt state. So many times before that I've seen was a person that wasn't really Sky, but I knew had good intent. Not once had he hurt one of his friends... and if he had to hurt one, I'm glad it was me. I was still convinced that I deserved to die for what I did to Domin... but regardless, I was surprised I made it to this cabin with my consciousness.
"What the hell happened to our leader..." Mandi muttered.
"Trust him. I trust him with my life... he could've killed me right there, did you see what he did to Orion's ribcage? He broke it all with one punch... he could've ended my life, but I'm still alive. We need to retreat as far back as we can! Xavier, Griff, get all of the injured people and push them out of view. Noboki, can you help me move boxes in front of us?" I yelled out. Noboki nodded with a smile and we began making our barricade.
As I pushed boxes around, I saw Sky walk up to Orion once more. Orion slashed Sky in the face and I saw skin fly up above both of their heads... but that didn't stop Sky.
He grabbed Orion by his throat, slammed him to the deck, and planted his sword into the ship so hard it shook the entire thing. Orion got up to run and made it pretty far until he tripped on a rope.
"That's very unbecoming of somebody like you... ORION!" The distortion in Sky's voice started to raise up even higher. Now, it was discernable from his ordinary voice. It almost sounded... lighter, like somebody younger than him was talking.
Orion slashed at Sky and cut his right arm in half from his palm to his elbow. The flesh and bone stuck out of it but were soon completely regenerated as Sky picked up his sword again.
Drool dripped from the corner of his lip and Sky's smile was almost as frightening as that day he told me he'd rip my face off... this was his Corrupt State. Truthfully, as Corrupt as he's ever been before, with red strings tattooing certain areas of his body, his strength was almost numbing to anybody standing near him, and bloodlust that would even make a lion shiver.
"That's our leader... such a Corrupt Being..." Noboki commented.
The swords violently swung against each other. Like metal bowls banging into each other repeatedly with a slight yelp of pain from Orion as Sky tossed him around like it was nothing. It was... weird, watching Sky throw around somebody as big as Orion.
"You just won't give me a break, will you? No matter..." Orion told him.
Orion swung his sword at Sky and Sky deflected it easily, but when Sky threw an attack, Orion used Sky's ability to deflect his attack.
I squinted my eyes, ready to share in Sky's pain... but nothing happened? When Orion deflected that attack, those red strings shot up towards Sky's right elbow and permanently stayed there... but no damage was otherwise dealt. Orion was surprised, just as we all were. How did Sky just sit there and take that attack without any damage?
Sky flipped his body and slammed his heel into Orion's side again. Orion was sent viciously into the cabins on the side of the boat, but Sky didn't stop there. As drool swung about the field leaving Sky's mouth, he slashed through the cabins like they were butter. The wood tore apart as the blade slid straight through.
Orion was trying his best, pushing himself off of the walls to dodge Sky's strikes, but any attack he threw went straight through any surface at this point. I knew I was always justified when saying that I was scared of Sky... but watching him fight like this was unbearably scary. There wasn't a moment in my head I was sure that I would live if I stepped through the crossfire. Like two demons fighting, they were wild, unrelenting, just trying to kill each other.
I felt as if I was watching two Godlike figures fight for control with all of the strings, all of the slashes, all of the cuts, all of the regenerations...
My only worry was that would Sky truly be back on our side after Orion died... or would he fall deeper into his Corrupt State afterward and kill all of us as well?
"SHOW ME YOUR BLOOD!" Sky yelled out, grabbing onto Orion's chest and ripping backward. When Orion's blood spurted out all over Sky's body, he smiled and kicked him out of the way. Sky smiled while walking closer to Orion.
Noboki and I finally set up all of the boxes and now we could finally watch Sky fight from a safe distance without intervening. If this is what it would take to fight Orion... we would've died four times over before landing a scratch.
