Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

--Sky's Perspective--

It's been two days since I last trained but today when Tavian came to get me, he told me about some new people I would be training as of today. Soldiers that just came of age and have willingly asked to fight against Orion. Amongst these people were Cody, Tyler, Robert, and David. They all seemed my age, so at least it wouldn't be weird with the ages.

"Hey, so you guys wanted to fight in the war against Orion?" I asked. The four of them nodded. They seemed pretty quiet, except for David. He was the only one who was ready to respond.

"Tavian told us about you. I must say, I respect you and can't wait to learn what you have to teach us!" David said. I was flattered, yet I still felt uncomfortable.

"P-Please, anybody could've done what I did. That doesn't matter now, so I'll do my best to teach you everything I know, so, let's begin." I told the four.

David assumed a fighting position with his glaive in hand and sat back, waiting to attack at my decree. "Then, I take it you're going first?" I asked him. David nodded his head back and took a deep breath in.

He looked serious enough to beat me, but if I'm training them, then it was for a reason. I drew my training sword and carefully watched his movement. "Start!" I yelled out. David quickly closed the distance, yet kept a safe distance between us with his glaive. He slashed downwards, a predictable attack I defused and pushed off to the side.

Once I pushed the glaive off to the side, David followed the momentum I gave it by spinning his body and slamming the glaive into the sword I held. The attack weighed a lot against my body, but since I didn't let my guard down, I was able to prepare accordingly and pulled against the handle of the weapon. This completely ruined David's stance as he gave into the diffusion and fell forwards, dropping the glaive against the floor.

I stopped attacking after he fell to the floor. "That wasn't too bad. If I wasn't completely prepared, that would've definitely hit me. Nice job, David. The only issue was your grip. If you held on tighter and gave it more strength, you could've followed my pull and maybe even attacked again. Who's next?" I turned to the three remaining guys.

-

Cody ran in with both of his daggers, closing the distance with intriguing speed. He was fast, but nothing like Dani or Lia. I only sparred with them once, but fighting against them involved being on the top of my guard at all given points in time and making sure they couldn't hit any of my weak points.

Cody had an interesting way of fighting. He went for vital points, which is fine because he couldn't hit me regardless. His hits had no power, but their speed was the distracting part. Cody left his legs open far too often for me to not take advantage of it, so on his next stab to my head, I ducked under it and slipped my leg against the back of his, pushing him to the ground.

Once he hit the ground, he rolled backward and recovered, throwing one of his daggers right at my head once. Without his second dagger, he was a lot easier to read. I deflected his blade and punched him in the stomach, making him fall to the ground.

"Kah! Man, you got me." Cody admitted. I nodded.

"You fight aggressively, which is nice to see. Your only problem is your strength. If you were as strong as you were fast, you could beat me. Also, don't throw your weapons at people unless you're sure you can get them back. Losing your weapons means losing the fight. Otherwise, you weren't bad. Recovery was nice, just don't forget what I told you." I told him.

-

Tyler was up next and he had no delay either. Tyler fought with a twin-blade: A blade with two sharp ends to it. He spun it around his body to flaunt his control. Everybody was strong in their own ways, it was fascinating to see how they could fight me with it.

Tyler opened his attacks by spinning his body for three quick stabs in a succession I'd never seen before. My hips, then my sternum. The points of his attack were good enough to stun somebody or cause immense pain, so if I missed my blocks, I would feel the power.

The one problem with Tyler's fighting style was how confident he was in himself. He never blocked, only dodged. I would prove to him why that was a bad idea.

The next time Tyler thrust the blade at me, I deflected it, grabbed onto his wrist, and swung him around to throw off his balance. He tried to retaliate by flipping around, but the iron grip I had on his wrist was too much for him. I pulled him downwards and put the edge of my blade to his throat. He gulped as if I would actually have hit him with it.

"You all fight so uniquely... it's hard to pinpoint your problems sometimes. I could tell your problems exactly, Tyler. Showing off your skills before a fight gives insight the enemy doesn't need. Keep your cockiness to yourself, and make sure you don't just dodge, you need to block as well. Once you learn those crucial skills, you'll be a great soldier as well." I told them. I turned to Robert next.

-

Robert had insane strength, like Ullr, but he didn't look anywhere near as buff as Ullr did. Robert used a large hammer on me and I couldn't even block it. The power behind his hits was stunning, but heavy weaponry has a disadvantage as well. Speed.

I swung against the hammer, left and right, pushing him back a considerable amount. After a while, I could see his short temper trigger as he tried to push the hammer against me. I kicked the large head of the hammer to the side and slammed the blade into the handle, keeping it pushed off to the side.

I threw my shoulder straight into Robert's chest and he was on the ground, giving up the fight.

"Damn... your strength is no joke. Your short temper is the only thing I noticed wrong with the way you fought. Other than that, the disadvantage was your weapon type, nothing wrong with you. Just keep yourself focused and you'd demolish anybody who stood in your way. I wanted to test you guys as of today, so we'll work on what you need the most of separately for the next four days. Robert, I'd like to start with you, if that's okay." I told everybody. Robert agreed to my terms.

"You can call me Robby or Rob, whatever is easier." He clarified. I nodded.

"Hey, before we start training again, how about we all go eat something together and get to know each other? We all want to know more about you, Sky." Tyler asked. I agreed to his terms. The food did sound super good right now.
